Having had a couple of days to revisit my experience, I honestly wish we had a Cook Out in Texas so I could go back more often. The food was excellent, the restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly. I got the bacon cheeseburger, and it was exactly as you'd expect if somebody had grilled it up at a backyard... Cook Out. Fresh food, made to order, and had good flavor. Since you can't find Cheerwine very often in Texas, I was thrilled with the Cheerwine float. Very simple, nothing fancy, very tasty. Plus, 4 adults ate our fill and took home some leftovers and the bill was about $35. Hard to get 4 full meals, including dessert, for less than $10/person these days. read more

Recently visited here and went through the drive through and ordered two milkshakes and a large cajan fries. The milkshakes were fair prices at two dollers and where very good! But when we recieved the cajan fries the large seemed like a medium or regular st any other place. Though they were very good I feel it should of been a bigger fry to be an large. read more

Customer service at this cook out is atrocious. Hearing from one of your employees to "speak up bit**" while ordering my food is completely unacceptable. Immediately spoke to the manager when we pulled up to the window and all he had to say was "ok". Even if it wasn't directed at me, being able to hear one of the employees speak like that over the intercom is not appropriate. Went through the drive thru about 8:00 pm on a Sunday night. I was the only person in line. The female taking my order was so mean and rude. I had to repeat my order probably 5-7 times. She was doing it on purpose. She kept saying..I don't understand you . I am american, speak English with no accent. Not even a southern drawl. It was a simple order with no special request. I was exhausted and just released from the hospital after a concussion. I wasn't able to yell my order at the speaker due to head pain, but I could speak normally. I get to the window and she is leaning against the counter with her back to me. She finally turns around and I say I'm sorry you couldn't understand me. She's looking at me like I'm a POS that gave her a hard time when all I did was order. She snatched my card from me runs it, hands it back, slams the window and turns her back to me again leans back on the counter. After about 5 min she hands me my food, I say thank you and she slams the window on me again. I was practically in tears. I know I was ultra sensitive from the concussion and my head was pounding. Quick service and great food. I only tried the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and their fries but they were great. The place was somewhat busy but my food came out instantly. Pulled pork was small, but almost perfect. Chili was very salty on the chili cheese fries. Floor was a little sticky near the soda fountain but all in all, a good experience. read more

I used to love Cook out, and maybe I will again if it is another location, but this one I will never go to again. Recently, a family member of mine was treated very badly by a female employee at the drive-thru. The employee's name we don't know, unfortunately. She snapped that my relative should have paid more attention when placing her order when it was the job of the employee to make sure she heard the order correctly and to be kind and courteous while doing so. Fast food is a job where you can have bad days, but there is still no excuse for bad behavior being kind is as important as being clean in the food industry. No food is worth being disrespected. The relative is 70 years old with ADHD and is shy and soft spoken, so I had to post a review for this family member. Terrible way to treat some of the most vulnerable members of society. We came through the drive thru and the girl on the headset (Sonsirae) was extremely disrespectful and constantly was rolling her eyes at us and ignoring some of the things we said about our order. She also told our friend that her card was declined and it wasn't because we immediately went to the cookout on Western and it worked perfectly and they were so much nicer and they even said they hear bad things about this location often. We have seen reviews where people that work at this location have wrote down people's credit card information. We called the manager to get a refund. The service was awful and he told us no. That's not good customer service. We will be going to the cook out on Western where they treat their customers better and we will be contacting HR in the morning. read more

Probably one of my favored fast food places in town;however, this location is lacking. The cleanliness (or lack thereof) is debatable. Tables are never wiped down, drink bar is always a mess, and the restrooms.... forget it! Customer service is a 1 Star. My order was short a portion of chicken nuggets and instead of fixing their mistake, we had to pay ONCE MORE for chicken nuggets if we wanted them. Came to this location when I got off work, just looking for food because I work late (11:30pm). The night shift seemed nice at first as I walked them through my order. As I got my food I checked my bag, I realized I was short one corn dog. Which wasn't a big deal. So I proceeded to get back in line to let them know they must have forgotten the second one. The lady now on the inter com has an attitude saying I never ordered the second one (as I'm looking at my receipt) and she said I'd have to pay for it. And I read my whole order back to her and said "just pull forward" super rude and snappy. So by the time I pull up she just said "here" and tossed the bag and closed the window as I was trying to show her the receipt. Definitely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I used to LIVE off of this food, Cookout was a staple in the HMLA-467's night crew Flightline shop's eating regimen, you kept us alive through snow, rain, long nights, and early mornings. Their 5 dollar food tray CAN NOT be beat, I used to all ways get a Cajun chicken sandwich, with a chicken quesadilla, and a honey mustard chicken wrap with a lemonade or something.
