The last time we were there, there was a very small selection for the tastings that you could choose. It is changed a lot in the last few years. There are fewer wines to sample, and that's a bit disappointing. If you happen to like sweet wines, then I would suggest trying one of theirs. I think they do well with the sweet wines. It is just not something that I enjoy. And there used to be a place where you could sit next to the river and buy a bottle of wine and cheese and sit outside. Sadly, those days are gone because there's a restaurant there now. But I do believe they have a small spot on the parking lot side that you can sit at and enjoy.

The room is decorated and bright, and felt like a great spot to stop on a Saturday afternoon. It's a nice change of pace from the usually-crowded bars through downtown Cedarburg. You should be aware that the tasting room apparently can't serve charcuterie boards themselves because of the class of license (maybe no food service cert.) but they're happy to help you enjoy any of the cheeses you purchased in the store and offer you some wine(s) to accompany them. The bartender graciously offered us some crackers to go with the plate and we were able to put together a satisfying little wine tasting experience! The one thing I would like to see is a few more wines on offer for the wine flights; at the time, they were a bit heavy on sweet white wines, which is just not my taste but may be popular in the area. They also have a cocktail list, beers, and their own brand of several liquors, so there are plenty of options. We will be back for a nice afternoon glass of wine and some cheese. My party of three ordered three flights of wine - dry, semi-sweet, and sweet. Each flight had five different varieties of wine and it only cost $5.00 per flight. You can also mix and match wines if you don't want to go with a predetermined list. For $7.00 they also offered a white cranberry and blueberry wine slushie. It was delicious. There isn't a lot of seating, so it's a good idea to bring your own chairs. They also don't offer any food, so a little picnic or charcuterie board would be fun. I'd highly recommend trying out Pieper Porch. It's such a unique experience and you really can't find anything else like this in the Waukesha area.
