The following morning I showed up shortly after opening to find out the truck sold the night before. While traveling towing trailer i had a check engine light come on and DEF derate warnings. We were able to make it to our campsite. Called Conway Service department when they opened on Monday morning. Spoke with Mitch in truck service and was able to drop off truck and they would see what they could do. received a text later on Monday stating they had truck in and found the problem. They were going to replace the defective parts. Received a text Tuesday morning stating the truck was repaired and ready to be picked up. Would give zero stars if possible. Do not use Conway Ford Service. Have had multiple bad experiences here. Had my previous leased vehicle in for service to replace a rattling side mirror. Had to bring it right back as it was installed crooked and with a gasket sticking way out, very visible. How do you miss something extremely obvious and let it go out the door? Bought new vehicle at Conway recently despite prior issue. 4 months and 5k miles later brought it back in for a delamination issue on the drivers' door keypad panel and a crooked sunroof sliding cover. Things I considered to be manufacturing defects. They said the delamination was a "hit" and not covered and the crooked sunroof cover was "normal". Argued the point and got nowhere. One service tech said they sent pictures of the delamination to Ford, and Ford had denied it. After arguing with multiple people, turns out nothing was sent to Ford at all, ever. Total BS line. Apparently the first step is to try and get the customer to pay for warranty related fixes as I'm sure that looks much better on their books. Took vehicle to a local body shop for second opinion / sanity check for the delamination issue. They agreed it was a defect as there is a mounting clip right at that spot. Just by chance there was a Myrtle Beach Ford (Beach Ford) employee in the waiting room for other business and asked what was up. Explained situation, took it to Beach Ford (25 mintues away) and both items fixed under warrantee as they were "definitely not correct" per their wonderful and personable service staff. In fact, the first Beach Ford tech for the sunroof issue said it was "OK", but service rep said she was not satisfied with that report and went back for another review and they fixed that issue. Despite having one of the best service departments I have ever dealt with (Wendy was my advisor.) The finance manager is an absolute idiot. Nearing the expiration of my warranty at 119k miles I called to extend. I was told I could get any of the 4 warranties at that mileage. The next week I passed 120k and went in to get my new warranty. The finance manager (who I spoke with the entire time) then notified me that at 120k I was only eligible for the lower tier warranty. Started the process online and within a week he found my new baby, an Oxford White 2019 Mustang GT California Special. Went in the past Friday to discuss my trade with General Manager Barry Norton (the best). After just a little back and forth :-) we hammered out a very satisfying deal. I bought an all electric Mustang for $90,000 which included an extended warranty costing $5,000. They gave me a charger with an incompatible connector which cannot be used in my garage. When I went the dealership to use theirs I was told by Cliff Keener, James Brown and Carm Franck that they were not for public use and that if I did not exit the property they would have been arrested by the HCPD for trespassing. Worst experience with a Ford dealership. Especially from the GM Barry Norman. I'm in Georgia where we bought our son a brand new Ford 150. He works in SC at the university. The truck is less than two months old and has two warning messages on the Ford Pass app saying get it to a dealer ASAP due to power train and some electrical wiring. I called the GM who didn't take the time to return my call and when I called back he said he did receive my message and said he was backed up for 3 weeks in service. I asked if my son could drop his car off and be given a loaner and his comments word for word were "I don't loan a car to know one who didn't buy a car from me" Wow! Bought 2017 Ford Transit Passenger Sprinter August 9th, 2021. I just received the vehicle on September 14th, 2021. This Sprinter was advertised on Auto Trader as great vehicle in great condition and in stock. I found out the vehicle was not in stock and promised I would have it in 2 days which turned into 1 1/2 weeks. Seat belt issues was discovered which took additional 1 1/2 to repair. Drive 2 hours to pickup the vehicle and the air conditioner was not working properly. This took 2 more weeks to repair. I have never experienced or heard of a situation like this from a Ford Dealer such as this one. Just purchased a 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS from this dealership. My salesman was Harrison and he was great! Bryson Elvis the finance manager was also efficient and professional. My only issue was the amount of time that it took to make the purchase and then I was told to come back on Monday at 5 to pick up my new car and at 5:40 the car still was not ready but other than (1)having to wait a little while(2) and finding the carpet that covers the spare tire in the back to be soaking wet the service was fantastic! Financing was secured myself by a local bank due to the fact their finance department offered a rate that was nearly double what I was approved for at Carolina Trust. I called at 3:46pm this afternoon to let Nick know I was on my way there with a cashiers check for the truck, he said ok see you soon. I was about 3 minutes from their lot at 5:10pm when I received a call from Nick saying they had sold the vehicle. The sales manager, Jamie Stewart told me they had been in the process of selling this vehicle since noon. I don't who was telling the lies, Nick or Jamie. These people have no integrity. We left it at the dealership overnight so a bed liner could be installed the next day. We called the next afternoon, after not hearing from the dealership that morning, and we were informed that the truck we had purchased the night before had been sold again to someone else on 11/3/16! I have the bill of sale and all the paperwork you get when you make a purchase in hand, I just don't have a clue who has my truck. Took my Lincoln to have it diagnosed for a misfire. I knew that was the problem but wanted to make sure which cylinder it was before changing all coils. The service manager called to let me know what the issue was and quoted me on the price. They quoted me for new tires, new spark plugs, replacing a coil and fuel filter. Again, I explicitly stated I needed to know where the misfire was coming from only. I guess being a women they didnt think i knew Sh*t. I explained to the manager that i just changed the spark plugs 2 weeks ago, I dont need tires or a fuel filter, as this is an extra vehicle and was ONLY interested in the misfire. After I told him that I had just gotten a tune up and that I had a warranty on #8 coil, he told me he needed to talk with the mechanic again to be sure which was misfiring. Needless to say this guy was a jackass during the interaction of me dropping off the truck, as well. He asked me if I had an appointment and i said no. He then told me in a degrading demeanor "well, usually you need an appointment". I told him I wasnt in a hurry to get it back, as I have 3 other cars to drive. He quietly got up and left. Its like I was bothering him. I dont know why folks get jobs that require dealing with other people, if they dont have a compassionate bone in their body. And dont try to scam folks out of their money, just becuase it a part of your job description. Above all else, the truck runs WORSE now than it did before I took it there is no telling what those people did to it. Another thing I was surprised is that they upped the hourly labor charge to $130...from $85.?? Over the last couple of years, which is crazy in my opinion. I really wish a shop would open up somewhere nearby that was completely transparent, and not try to screw unsuspecting folks. Please see my review below that Conway Ford obviously didn't want you to see. I agree with all of the complaints from last January regarding the flyer with the "Grand Prize" being cash or car. My elderly Aunt received this in the mail and was very excited when she thought she won, so she drove to my house and asked me to make sure she read it correctly. I read it as well, including the fine print. I called the number for her the next day only to be assured that she definitely won one of the six grand prizes, and was told to come to the dealership and speak to Lexi. I drove my Aunt an hour to the dealership after a long day at work so that she could get her prize that she was so excited about, only to have one of the salesmen tell me that there is no one there named Lexi. That was just a code to let them know I had called. What a deceitful lie. Then, my Aunt was "rewarded" with two lottery tickets. One of them was worth $1 and one completely worthless. Conway Ford should be ashamed of themselves for this sort of deception. Deceiving people and taking advantage of consumers' trust is no way to earn their business. It may get people in your door, but you send them away upset. One of the salesmen told me that I should have read the fine print, and I did. Well, Conway Ford, read this fine print. Conway Ford will never earn my business and has lost my respect.
