If I can say 0 or negative star, I would! We spend more than $10K in total shipping stuff from Shanghai to San Francisco, twice. Unfortunately we have no choice at which logistic company in US we can use but Contour because they are the partnering company with the Chinese shipping company. There are glowing reviews because those delivery/shipment didn't ran into issues, like what we experienced the first time. However, if you do run into issues, which is what our the 2nd time delivery is, this company is the biggest nightmare and horrible to deal with. In their official website where you sign the delivery form, it indicates 7 free day storage when items arrived at the warehouse. However, it DOES NOT include California, per Bennis, one guy I talked to on the phone says. He was being apologetic on not including that in the formal doc. Excuses me ? How can customer trust you if you don't write in clause and how do we know if the company is just making stuff up to scam more from their customers? One day I just notice $100 pop up in the account without ANY prior notification or communication. When you call and ask for update, they said "I will call you back." But out of 30 times I called, only twice I got call back. I completely lost confidence on them just for that. Also when you talk with different people. They claim different things and give you different answers. Finally when items are delivered, there is a big crate missing. It took them 4 business days and they still claim they haven't located it. Again, when I call them, different people says differently. Someone says yeah we found it but the other emailed me saying they are still looking for it. Thus I can conclude, there are many incompetent and lairs in employee. At this point they probably don't care about negative reviews any more because many customers are using them without having choices due to oversea delivery partnership. But hope this provide some insights into people who have choices to navigate away from them. read more

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY. They have no idea what is going on with one "department" telling me my stuff was in a container sat in their yard and another saying it had not cleared customs. I thought that was bad, but then my stuff was held hostage. Apparently it is my responsibility to cover port congestion charges, to cover charges for them not moving their containers out of the port in time and so being fined by the port, and for additional haulage to my address, when I have already paid for door to door service. I am now dreading what state my shipment will actually be in when it arrives. Honestly, if you have no other choice but to use these guys, sell your stuff and buy new in the next country - it will be less expensive, less worrying in the long run. read more

My belongings have made it safe and sound to the US, until this company got involved, they charge exorbitant fees and are utterly unorganised. They don't listen and they don't respond until I threatened to hold them in court. Haven't received my belongings yet - I'll let you know if they have been delivered in one piece as other reviews have me holding my breath!!! UPDATE it all arrived broken stained and torn they refused to pay us anything to cover what we owned despite having insurance and tried to charge us extra based on the amount of steps not floors. read more

STAY AWAY! My husband and I relocated back to the USA from London, England recently (Fall 2016) and Contour Logistics was the US partner of the company PSS Removals in London. Our experience with PSS was fairly positive, so we assumed their US partner would be efficient. The movers truck broke down a quarter of a mile from our new home in Atlanta. My husband had taken the day off work to accomodate the move. The movers were forced to call a tow truck and put all of our belongings on a new truck. Fair enough, not their fault. However, we received the call at 3:00 pm of their car trouble, and at 10 PM that evening, we were still waiting. They were unable to reach ANYONE at their corporate office who would send a new truck. We left multiple vms and to this day have never received an apology or follow up call. The movers finally arrived the following day after rescheduling with us at 11 pm (8 hours after the scheduled delivery time). If my husband and I did not have friends in the area, we would've had to pay for a hotel at our own expense as our bed and belongings were left on the truck overnight. Finally, our stuff was delivered and there were several items damaged that we will be claiming. AND, the kicker is Contours double charged us for the US delivery and storage fees! So we've had to contact PSS London and involve several parties to get this resolved and get reimbursed. When we tried calling Contours, their voicemail was FULL. What kind of business has a full voicemail and doesn't return calls? Absolutely THE WORST moving experience of my lifetime and I've had several moves over a span of twenty years. read more

No. Nonono. Same situation as many here. I hired a great mover in London but they partnered with these guys in the USA. Just the worst. The only time I could get them on the phone was when I was paying for yet another additional cost they arbitrarily tacked on - another $150 for a flight of stairs, $1500 to "expedite" my shipment so it could arrive within seven weeks instead of 10. Seriously. My initial estimate ballooned from 2500 GBP to 5000 GBP. Nuts. read more

STAY AWAY and let my story be a lesson to you. My story of international move trumps the other horror stories here, unfortunately. I've moved from Sydney to San Francisco a couple of years ago with Pickfords (an Aussie company) and it was totally fine and speedy for sea shipment. Contour Logistics were the local agent for that move, and they didn't manage to screw stuff up (I believe they simply hired some third company to do the delivery). SILLY ME decided that after this that Contour Logistics are an OK company, and when I was moving back in March 2016, I contracted them to move my stuff back to Sydney. WRONG DECISION! To give you a TLDR - it's been 7 months by now, my stuff is STILL NOT HERE. Despite quoting me shipping from LA to Sydney, as all other shipments on that route go, they sent my stuff SF-NYC-UK-AU and their AU partner is some sort of cheapskate company with interstate deliveries only a few times a year, so I am waiting when (if?) they deliver the shipment from its current location in Brisbane (Queensland, a neighbouring state) to Sydney "end of November". Contents of the shipment was mostly books and household goods. Obviously after more than half a year I bought everything I needed and will probably have to send most of my SF stuff to the dumpster when it arrives, or sell on eBay for peanuts. Makes me regret I didn't simply junk it all when leaving SF. Hilariously their boss (?) Alex Vayner rang me a week ago, after I sent them yet another email threatening to sue them internationally and promised that by the end of that week I'll have if not the goods then at least a definite deadline of their imminent delivery. Guess what, he never called back. read more

Moving London, UK to New Jersey, USA. Contour Logistics were recommend agent in the USA to deliver our goods. We have experienced numerous damages to our goods incurred both during the delivery and unpacking. We selected CL as our forwarder and entrusted that they were legally responsible for taking all the necessary steps to protect and preserve our consignment. As these damages were completely and wholly caused by the unprofessional unpacking during delivery and of no fault of our own, we asked for fair reimbursement to replace the items destroyed especially for those items which were destroyed as they were unpacked in our presence but never received any reply. Avoid at all costs! read more

Don't even think abut using this company!! No, no and no!! I do not have anything positive to say about this company at all. I relocated from UAE to USA and everything went wrong. Shipment was late to USA, extra fees kept coming my way, late delivery to home, they tried to deliver with a 53' semi tractor trailer, not flexible on delivery dates, damaged goods, insurance wouldn't pay, etc... I chose Family Stores in UAE and hoped that their US partner would be professional and treat my personal goods with respect and care. Boy, was I ever wrong. The delivery guys were in such a hurry to unload, didn't want to unbox anything, etc... The scheduling "Manager" told me that the delivery, which was already 2-3 days late, had to be on a certain day even after he gave me a 3 day window. His reason? The delivery truck and crew were scheduled to go and help relief effort after a hurricane. When I asked the delivery crew, they said that was a lie. Stay away and choose someone else. Absolutely the worst relocation/moving experience of my entire life. read more

Upon arrival of my belongings from Australia, I was charged additional fees for "USA Customs Exams" to which I asked for proof of documentation that I never received. This supplier told me the fees were to cover the cost of them supervising the exams to ensure nothing was damaged and boxes would be repackaged properly. Plus, I took out personal time from my job to accept the arrival of my possessions which was canceled due to vehicle breakdown and then again a rescheduled delivery date meant more lost time when they eventually did deliver a few days later. When my belongings were being unpacked on delivery, there were 2 boxes which were unsealed and possessions falling out all over the place. So, they didn't really provide the service they were promising to my experience. I have requested a refund from this supplier for these reasons to which they're denying any fault of their own. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. If a primary shipping company quotes you and Contour is handling any leg of the journey at all, just refuse the quote and insist they use a different moving company. Our 40ft shipping container sat in the yard for 3 days while they "tried to organize" a crew to unload the thing. A 3-hour job turned into a 3-day waste of time because of their incompetence. Absolutely REFUSE if you see Contour's name anywhere near your manifest. They'll try bill you for any and everything they can, too. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY... We setup our home in NY first week of August 2016 - I shipped one 20ft container from overseas and Contour Logistics was chosen by my moving company as the agent to handle the delivery, and assembly in NY. The delivery and assembly was a total disaster as they have outsourced the work to a third party. Lack of communication between Contour and the third party was the base of mess. They also over charged us for several things that made no sense. In addition, I have requested Contour to keep some items in storage for me as they didn't fit in my NY apartment. I get a different bill every month, and I have to chase them to fix it every month. This company is staffed with incompetent people, the billing department, the delivery & logistics department, etc. Zero customer service! I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Buyer Beware you have been warned about using this company. They were paid to Deliver my over seas Shipment from a moving company over seas. But refused to deliver my items until I paid additional Fees which were not part of the Contract. So After 4 1/2 months of not having my things and having to live out of two suite cases. I finally gave in to the scam and I paid the 400 plus Dollars then had to Hire another Moving company to finish the job Contour was paid for but either unable or unwilling to do. They were the most unprofessional Moving Company I have ever seen any where in the world they had no idea what they were doing or what was even going. They even tried to collect fees twice. I will say this though they are good at making up fees to hold your shipment Hostage until you pay the Ransom and then come get it your self. So if you go ahead and use CONTOUR LOGISTICS INC, Just Remember this....... you have been warned. read more

We moved our shipment from UAE to Houston and Contour was the 3rd party selected by our moving company to coordinate the US leg of the move. From day 1, we had to call them every 5 days to ask about the status of our shipment. Nobody ever knew what was happening at Contour. Some of the people we spoke to couldn't even understand English properly. But the best sham of all was when they finally informed us via email that our shipment will arrive on Tuesday and there will be a delivery team and an assembling team there to assemble our furniture. The delivery team came and there was no sense or order in which they delivered our items. We did not get to count our belongings properly and as a result they left with our bed's parts in their truck and had to come back! Our bed's headboards leg had broken off completely in transit ( no one would take responsibility for this). The delivery guys had tools but they said that we cant touch this stuff because dispatch is sending the assembling team in an hour. They had us sign the delivery forms and left. After they left, we kept calling Contour to check when the assembling team will arrive only to get an email saying that there will be no assembly team sent. Even though we paid for this service!!! After numerous calls with Contour and them blaming our original overseas company for not paying them the assembling fee apparently; we had to pay out of pocket to get our furniture assembled again! What an absolute nightmare. Dont even think about booking these people for your precious belongings! read more

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Our furniture and dishes arrived broken, the movers were adversarial and rude, and they wouldn't release my items until I gave them an additional $290 although I had prepaid. When I made my insurance claim with their associated insurers which I had also prepaid at considerable cost I was given almost nothing in compensation. One star is too many for these criminals. read more

They attempted to charge $35 for changing the delivery address more than a month before the international shipment arrived at their place. They charged $100 claiming that it was for delays clearing customs. Delivered a week late claiming technical issues. We have many of our personal possessions destroyed by very rough handling - the goods were professionally packed at the origin. Stay well clear of this lot. read more

Dude, where's my stuff? Since my personal effects finally arrived in Australia - more than 2 weeks after promised - I'll call this a comedy of errors rather than a nightmare. The short version is that my shipment left the States with pretty much not a single document necessary to clear customs in Australia. When I started asking questions, I was flat out lied to or told to deal with the shipper (FedEx - who was incredibly helpful, the exact opposite of Contour Logistics). I tracked the shipment myself and saw Customs clearance was being held up because of a lack of a commercial invoice. I pointed this out to the mover, who said they'd resubmit. They apparently had never submitted one in the first place, and what they finally did submit FedEx told me was inadequate for clearance. I ultimately had to work with FedEx directly to provide the necessary paperwork, including documents Contour Logistics never told me were required and document that I had provided them, but that they never passed on to FedEx, including an authorization for FedEx to complete clearance for me. Among the documents never provided was a Customs declaration required by Australia for unaccompanied personal effects, which FedEX - not Contour - provided helped me complete. Contour's excuse was Customs had never required the form before. Really? You have to fill out a declaration when you get of a bleepin' plane. The excuse lacks all credibility. Contour's attitude once my shipment was picked up by FedEx was "out of sight, out mind." Pretty much all the response I got from Contour was direction to deal with FedEx directly. Excuse me, that's why I paid movers, so I wouldn't have to. Admittedly, they were less expensive that the other movers from whom I sought quotes, but give the headaches and the total lack of professionalism shown by Contour, I guess I got what I paid for. I have asked for a partial refund promised if the shipment was delayed. We'll see, and I'll update this post one way or the other. In the meantime, avoid Contour. read more

We had our goods shipped from the UK and were told everything would be fine, nothing to worry about. Everything was fine until it got into the hands of Contour Logistics! We were told to expect our goods sometime within six weeks after our arrival to the US which would have been March. We heard nothing from this company until the first part of April saying to expect it sometime near the third week. Out of the blue a driver with a tow truck came to our door and advised he was to unload a car for us! We had no phone number for this company so I couldn't ring them so the driver and I waited and suddenly this large truck with a 40-foot container on delivered our small car from the UK and a couple of cushions--that was all! A little bit later a moving van showed up with three guys ready to unload the container that had nothing but the car on it--so they called their boss who in turn called Contour and wanted them to wait for I don't know what. So by 4:30pm after the truck had gone that morning the movers finally were told to leave. Then I received several calls from Contour within the following few days later telling me our goods had been stolen, then lost, then found, then they took it back to the port to have it X-rayed by customs. I rang customs to find out if they had broken the seal to examine the goods on the day it had arrived in the US, she looked it up for me and told me no but if it would have been opened by customs or X-rayed we would have been notified immediately and expected to pay right then and there. I told Contour that in an email (one of very many sent back and forth) they told me I had no right to contact customs!! It's still a free country last I knew, I didn't think I was out of my country that long! Well, days turned into weeks, phone calls were left unanswered, I tried to contact the Federal Maratime Commission but they told me its best to pay them off first and fight later! My emails were just answered in double-talk and they were literally holding our goods for ransom until we paid them for storage of our goods which THEY put in storage smashed boxes, took the container back to the port to have it X-rayed to make it look like customs ordered it so we would have to pay for it, then they stripped the container down and put it in storage, items of my husbands tools and carpentry tools have mysteriously gone missing out of boxes that were sealed but were cut opened by a box cutter on the other end of the box. So now we're having to fight the company we have the contract with to get extortion money back from this US company in the sum of over $2700.00. So if I were you I would stay well away from Contour Logistics unless you want to end up like we did. read more

i'm in the middle of a nightmare. choosing contour logistics was the biggest mistake that i've ever made. the container got stopped at customs and "randomly flagged" for an exam (much of the material that I saw online states that "random" often times means "container coming from a shipper with a poor history.") it was stopped on december 18th and the exam wasn't done until the 27th. we have been waiting since then to hear back and this week we were informed that we owe an additional (!!!) $4500 (!!!) for the exam, demurrage fees and shuttle fees. perhaps the most infuriating part of the whole ordeal is the way that these charges were listed: $450.00 - Shuttle Fees $130.00 - USDA release $3,797.85 - CET Exam Fees when it was questioned why the exam cost so much, the response was that the CET exam fees contained the demurrage costs (costs for being held at the port for longer than 4 days) and that these fees typically cost between $125-$200/day. a fucking estimate? you send me a bill for an extra $4500 for my shipment, which is a month late, and you don't even have the common decency to send it itemized properly???? the exam itself costs less than $1000 I deduce through google...would be great to have an itemized bill that tells me specifically though. I have no idea what could have been done differently (pressure on exam happening faster, asking port for special considerations as holiday time likely delayed, getting results faster after the exam that was done on the 27th) but I don't plan on sleeping until I find out and until I get justice. during that time, I imagine that these crooks will try and keep charging us for storage fees or some other fee. total garbage. read more

Very shortly after hiring them to move a dozen boxes of my family's belongings from the US to Europe, I encountered nothing but disregard for promises made, incompetence, all topped by a startling inability to communicate. We shipped out boxes mid-June, and were promised delivery early August. We ultimately received our items at the end if Sept., with half of our goods crushed and damaged. A very bad experience overall - steer clear of Contour. read more

How to give this company negative stars. The worst ever! Every single item we had shipped from NZ was broken or damaged in some way. Then they lost the paperwork, it has truly been the worst moving experience ever. I was dumbfounded by the state in which our household goods arrived...it was all on pallets with plastic wrap and it all looked as if it had been run over by a fork lift. Contour was the US partner of Crown Relocation, Crown in NZ was great but once it got to the States, it was all down hill from there. I did let Crown know of the state of our entire house and contents...hopefully they will not be using Contour again...but who knows, Contour will probably just change their name again and be up and running in no time...Horrible! read more

I was verbally abused and physically threatened by the delivery driver. SERIOUSLY! The delivery arrived 30 minutes early and to the wrong address, but the driver was mad at me. I got to the storage unit where he was waiting, and the driver began yelling at me about how I wrote the address down wrong. He insisted that I go with him to the other building. I said I didn't want to go. I just wanted my things delivered. I went inside to get the agent to show us to the unit because I was afraid if I got lost he would yell at me again. She was kind enough to show us to the unit. Then he started arguing with her!! He threatened to leave with my things. She was so mad she called the delivery company and complained. After hearing all that, John still had the audacity to charge me 50 dollars for an elevator. I paid that with credit card over the phone. I offered the driver his pen, he yelled 'keep it!!' So I tossed it at his window under handed. Then he got on his phone to call the cops on me!!! Seriously!!! No lie!! That just happened!! Stay away from this company and their psychotic employees. read more

I paid contour logistics $3100 to deliver server equipment from Philadelphia PA to Denver Colorado. We used 3 day delivery. First off, 3 day delivery means have it ready for pickup on Tuesday afternoon, they pick it up, transfer it to FedEx who delivers it to a local mover in Denver for delivery on Tuesday or Wednesday. I was OK with Tuesday/Wednesday I made if VERY clear that I was flying into Denver to meet the equipment and needed to know if there was any issues. I asked for Tracking info (which i never received) There was some snow on Thursday March 12th. I am in NYC and the snow was not that bad. I was never notified of any delay. I got a call from the local mover in Denver on Friday night confirming deliver on Tuesday March 16th. I decided to rent a Van and pick up my equipment on Monday from their facility on Monday March 15th so I could get it a day earlier. I arrived in Denver on Monday and called the local mover to get their address. They told me they did not expect the shipment in until Thursday as it was delayed. I called Contour Logistics and they could not do anything to get the shipment there any earlier. They blamed FedEx without taking any responsibility. I turned around and flew back to NY and made plans to fly back to Denver the following Monday. I spoke to Alex and John at Contour letting them know how disappointed I was that they did not notify me of the delay. They apologized and did nothing else. Their excuse was that they did not Find our from FedEx about the delay until after the office closed on Friday night. They said they had no way of tracking deliveries or contacting clients on Saturday or Sunday (guess they cant work from home) I asked them to reimburse me for my Airfare, parking, One night at a Hotel that I was charged for. I paid $3100 to have the equipment shipped. I asked for a refund of $802. I had to call/email them multiple times and did not receive responses. Keep in mind that the Airfare I had to pay for for the second trip was much higher than the first trip. The equipment finally showed up on Friday March 20th, 2-3 days late They finally referred me to claims on Monday, March 23rd. Today is Monday March 30th and I have not heard back from anyone. I am tired of trying to track these guys down. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company for $802. I will NEVER do business with this company again. read more

The moving company in Ireland used this company as their partner in the USA. The moving company I hired was excellent however I had no control over who they picked on this side of Atlantic. I have never come across such a completely disorganise company. I was only getting 4 small boxes of dishes delivered yet they could not have made it more difficult or required more unnecessary phone calls. Sometimes I would returns call after getting a voice mail from them only to find someone at other end bewildered as to why I was called I first place. I had a 7.25 additional charge added that I did not mind paying but paying online was almost impossible. I asked for a day or 2 notice of delivery date so I could schedule to be there instead they called me 8pm night before after not hearing from them for at least 1 mth before that. Delivery guys themselves were very pleasant. I have been pestered by company to give a review. Maybe they should have taken a hint when I did not want to give one first few times it was because it was not going to be good. Instead of pestering customers for reviews hire and spend time training your office staff. read more
