Communication leading up to the move was good, although the moving team showed up nearly an hour late due to a flat tire. The two movers were efficient, but indicated that they wrap the furniture in the truck to save time. I think this probably led to some minor damage on my furniture as it was not protected until it was in the truck. Generally the move went ok until they forced a large couch through a doorway to my basement. They cracked a corner of my kitchen pantry cabinet and scraped a significant portion of the paint off the doorway. I had asked them to get the couch to the basement if possible, but it wasn't mandatory so I was disappointed that they forced it. The resolution that the company offered was for me to obtain 2 or 3 quotes for repainting (I will be renovating the kitchen in the near future so did not care about the damaged cabinet) and they will then reimburse me. It puts the onus on me to get the repair done, which seems unnecessary. I can't recommend this company and will not use them for future moves, if any. read more

Update: Not just a horrible moving company that leaves you in the lurch without a care, but a twilight zone insane one at that. The day after I posted my review detailing the panic-inducing situation that Haul Zing left me in, someone from the company FINALLY reached out to me. In fact, a young woman named Lisa called me on my cell. At first, she started to reiterate the lies that the movers said about calling me and telling me that they would be late because their truck broke down, etc. etc., but I offered to take screenshots of my phone and text message logs to prove that this was untrue. She then told me that the owner of the company was extremely upset when he read my review and found out what had happened to me and my family. She said he would like to offer some compensation because I ended up spending a great deal more to find another moving company at last minute's notice. I thought this was very kind, and started to think that perhaps Haul Zing DID really care about its customer service. I waited a week, two weeks, three weeks, yet heard bupkis. Thinking perhaps I had given Lisa the wrong address, I called Haul Zing again on a Thursday morning. Lisa answered and said, "I was just about to call you." Right. She told me that she had written the address of my new home down wrong, and vowed that I would get a check from them "by next Wednesday." As you can guess from this update, that was untrue. Now, after my first Yelp review of Haul Zing, I never once asked for compensation or threatened them with this update, etc. In fact, two months have passed, and the money has never really mattered to me. What I DO think is important, though, is that a company who signs contracts with customers for a service as important as moving their valuable belongings should be expected to keep their word, and honor those contracts. The fact of the matter is, Haul Zing has proved to be a dishonest, unscrupulous company. I would caution anyone who is thinking of allowing them access to her or his home and possessions. read more

I was done with asking favors from friends, this time I moved with Haul ZIng. I filled out a form describing my move, the items and location. I was able to set it up quickly through email and submitting a credit card for reservation. On the day of the move, Eddie the owner and another mover showed up on time at my door. Eddie, the owner had the most positive attitude, a chatty fellow with a very curious mind who asked lots of questions. They diligently moved the boxes I packed and dismantled everything else that was needed for the move. They were careful with my items so that's a plus because you never know who you get when you call movers. The rate was reasonable for under 2 hours however it went over 2 hours for 1 bedroom. I can only blame it on too much crap on my part and those ikea shelves that needed dismantling. I'll definitely use them again. Pack your stuff really well and be very organized, be ready to go. It can save you time which translates into savings. read more

After a stupid amount of time spent researching a company in my lowish price range, I went with HaulZing, which was the only company out of the few I ended up emailing that got back to me quickly. My dad has always helped me move--even if it means flying up from Georgia for a weekend (spoiled)...but the man isn't getting any younger, so I hired movers for the first time. I couldn't have asked for an easier experience. I felt awkward (but in a good way?) about not having to help at all... Worth every cent. Also, the two movers had a quality I truly appreciate--friendly and joked with us, but only a couple of times over the two hour move. The perfect balance of conversation and hard work. read more

Moving is stressful and painful. We all know that. Knowing that is not the important part. It's the solution to mitigating the stresses and pains of moving that are more important. Thankfully, we have movers in the MoCo area that can provide that: Haul Zing. Truthfully, after hearing the name I was quite skeptical of using their services. Sure the name is catchy, but in the back of my mind I questioned whether they were serious movers. The name made me think of this and I just couldn't get this out of my mind: ZING ZING ZING ZING~ and we'll be done hauling your stuff in no time~ Now that doesn't sound like your belongings will get to its destination safely does it? However, I decided to take a leap of faith based on positive reviews from yelp friends and decided to use their services. They excelled in all service areas that are important for a moving company: 1. They arrived ahead of time for pickup 2. They were quick, gentle and careful with transporting my belongings (they took care of individually wrapping items that would get dirty or get lost 3. They made sure items would not shift around during transit by securing my belongings in place inside the truck using ropes and latches 4. They already knew where they had to go for dropping the goods off 5. They rounded the time down after completion of the move (they charge every quarter of an hour and we went over by 5-7 minutes and they gave us that discount) And most importantly, they are very nice people who care about your belongings. They weren't rushing to finish quickly because of time constraints and they took care of the items as if it were their own. Now, while that sounds like it should be the status quo it isn't the case. Recently, I shipped 30 boxes from NJ using FEDEX ground and about 1/2 of them were on the brink of being completely torn apart. While FEDEX services are a subject of another lengthy review, the point I wanted to illustrate is that some movers and transporters just do not give a damn and can cause serious damage and a lot of headaches. As for the prices, they are a small business catering local movers in the DMV area and seem to have low overhead. As of early 2013, their prices were the most competitive at $125 or $150 base for first hour and $30 for each quarter hour afterwards (I can't entirely remember so please don't quote me on this but the #s are close). Keep these guys in mind and use them the next time you need to move. You've got every excuse from being a cheapsake looking for the lowest price or being a supporter of local businesses in the DMW area. read more

Talk about a LIFE SAVER!!! I was desperate for moving help, I had procrastinated for too long and it was the week of my move! What's a girl to do?...Eddie responded to my email request within 15 minutes after I sent it with a price quote that made my wallet smile. Eddie arrived with his helping mover & couldn't have been nicer. They came a little bit earlier, which was better for me because I only had my moving elevator for a limited amount of time that day at my new apartment. I pointed out what needed to be moved, they did all the rest and it only took them 45 minutes to pack up my stuff into their truck. We got to my new apartment and it only took them about 45 minutes there as well! I saved SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much more money then renting a Uhaul truck and doing it myself. It's the best decision I've made and made my other moving needs much more manageable. They were very quick, down to earth and I will 100% use them again for my next move! They rocked my weekend in a fan-taz-great way! Thanks Eddie for making my money count, and for helping me save LOTS of $$$$$$!!!!! read more

Let me start by saying I will always use this company for moves I am not doing on my own in this area. I settled on Haul Zing thanks to Yelp. I couldn't believe there was a moving company with 54 reviews and and average five star rating. The reoccurring themes were all things I was looking for: -A timely response for a quote -Relatively good pricing -No hidden fees after the move was completed -No damaged stuff -A crew that conducted themselves in an efficient and professional manner. Gary and Everette were all that and more. I got a flat rate for 2.5 hours the same day I requested a quote. All the parties I talked to on the phone were knowledgeable about my specific move even though it wasn't the same person every time. Gary and Everette arrived early even though it was raining. I had packed everything before they came to move one bedroom and several boxes, including disassembling my bed. They provided their own equipment (dollies, plastic furniture wrap, furniture pads, truck), and got it into my storage unit 30 miles away without any mishaps in 2.25 hours. I have no problems fully endorsing them to anyone who asks. read more

One word - terrible. Company was referred by the movers I normally use (they were already booked). Long story short - these guys are careless and sloppy. They shattered a 4ft piece of glass, smashed the screen on my plasma TV and cracked a very expensive glass frame. They refuse to take responsibility and go as far as to accuse me of breaking the TV before they moved it. So now this move went from costing a few hundred dollars to over a thousand. Do. Not. Use. read more

So I have to admit, I used Yelp to find HaulZing. Eddie has been great to work with. He was very reasonable when he gave me his quote. I told him that I was concerned about my furniture as well as cost. At the time, he told 3 movers would be sufficient to handle my move. On the day of the move, 4 movers showed up. When I called, he said that he sent out 4 movers to assist because of my concern of my furniture. Henry, Will, Mike, and Maaku showed up ready willing and able to move my furniture. They expertly handled my roommate and my heavy furniture. The entire apartment move took about 4 1/4 hours. It would have been faster if my elevators weren't so far away. Just like many other happy customers, if I do a local move again, without a doubt, I'll be calling Eddie and HaulZing again. read more

I've moved about 30 times in my life and hired movers about 10 of those times. They definitely were very professional over the phone, kept me updated on where they were and when they plan in getting here, were on time, and generally did a great job. I had two guys and I think I ended up paying like $550 after tip and stuff. One of the guys (the main guy) was great but the other kept talking on the phone, claiming that his boss was "chewing him out" for being slow. He asked me if he could charge his phone on my kitchen counter to which I of course I said yes. As I was walking by I'd see his phone lit up with FB updates and text messages. It was a girl flirting and from the sound of it he was trying to hook up w that girl. I didn't pick up the phone and read it but from 3 feet away as I was walking by I could see the messages. I'd say he was on the phone for about 30-40 mins out of the ~4 hrs he was here to move. The same guy was also visibly angry when my condo manager took 10 mins to move a car that was supposed to be at the moving truck's spot. I had to calm him down. As an absolute service provider, I'd give them 2-3 stars. You expect service providers to be on time, courteous, competent, etc but movers is an exception because most of them are incompetent at best and crooks at worst usually. Therefore the bar for movers is so low that this place is probably as good as it gets :( read more

Haul Zing was the perfect, no-stress solution to all my moving woes. I just moved to DC and have precious little belongings. But what's a girl to do when faced with moving a mattress, boxspring, and frame without a car or friends to assist? HaulZing (really, Eddie, as he is the heart and soul of the operation) gave me a quote within the hour, and by the end of the day, we had worked out the logistics of my move. Mind you, I did this all completely last minute, and Eddie and his men were available to assist me the next business day. On moving day, Eddie ran into some unforeseen complications, but kept me completely in the loop. To make up for the five or so minutes he was running behind, he and his assistant literally bounded up my apartment building's three flights of stairs and had my mattress and components wrapped and stashed in the truck within fifteen minutes. Eddie also let me ride along in the truck to my next place! I'm completely satisfied with my one-item move: the timing, price, and customer service are second to none. I'll definitely be calling Eddie the next time I feel restless and need a change of scenery - but until then, I'll tell all my friends about this service! read more

While other moving companies in the area were charging a premium for a very small and short move, Haul Zing quoted a much more reasonable price. One would imagine with a lower price the quality of service would decline, however, that was not the case. Will and Henry did a great job moving a few pieces from a small apartment into a condo within two hours. They took extra care of the items that were pointed out during the initial packing of the truck and I'm pleased to say that those items came out in the same condition they were packed. They are the most reasonable moving company I've come in contact with near the Rockville/Gaithersburg area, so it's definitely worth giving them a shot. Note: They will only communicate via email ( I assume for ticket management purposes and liability protection ) until the order has been confirmed, then you'll get a phone call to coordinate the moving arrangements and such. read more

I am SO glad I found these guys! It was my first time moving on my own and after hearing so many horror stories about other movers, I had pretty low expectations. But these guys (Will and Everette) just were just fantastic. They were easy to schedule with, on time, prepared, friendly, and very quick and efficient and fairly priced (one of the best quotes I've gotten). They even took some things that I couldn't pack into boxes, which I really appreciated. Haul Zing is definitely a top choice for moving. If I need to move again, they can count on me on calling them! Shout out to Will and Everette again for making my move as smooth as it was!!! read more

I was really, really impressed with the way our Haul Zing movers handled their business. They were affordable, professional, efficient, and fast! They moved our entire apartment (from U St. to Columbia Heights) in well under 3 hours. I can't recommend Haul Zing highly enough. read more

I initially tried to get an estimate from Haul Zing as multiple friends referred me to them, particularly for small moves (1 BR). Unfortunately it was during the weeklong blackout following a summer storm but they followed up with me as soon as they were back up and running to see if I still needed movers. I had booked another company but needed a smaller truck to get under the low clearance to my new building's low dock. They got me scheduled without a problem. On moving day they were on time with Henry and Everette as my movers. Not only were they friendly and helped the move be quick and pleasant but they were as efficient as possible and despite going over the predicted 3 1/2 hrs, they still charged me the predicted 3 1/2 hrs due to some slow movement with it being so hot that day. I spent less then $500 with tip for each. They were great! Everything got out and in of my apt without any damage and got my tv and furniture mounted and reassembled so it was liveable when they left. Mad props to Henry and Everette for making it such a pleasant experience. They lived up to my friends' hype about Haul Zing. Definitely recommending them to other friends and will use them for future moves read more

I had a great experience with this company--from start to finish, they were extremely knowledgable and professional. The highlights: -- They provided accurate information regarding pricing and there were no hidden fees like I experienced with my last move. --They were very competent moving our stuff (nothing got broken, scratched, etc.). --We ended up finishing early. I originally estimated about 3 hours for the move, but we finished up in 2. --The crew was very professional, but very friendly. Great job and thanks! read more

I have never had such a pleasant move in my life. In the last 8 years, I've moved 7 times (and hopefully not again for a while) and I always dread moving day. I ran out of boxes and had some of my stuff in Trader Joe's esque bags, but the 2 Haul Zingers didn't mind at all. They were extremely professional and friendly. The move took 30 minutes more than anticipated because my couch couldn't fit around a corner, but the movers found a way to maneuver it through the kitchen. I am so thankful yelp exists and people have reviewed this company because without them, I would never have had such an easy move! read more

I hired Haul Zing on short notice to move me from one one-bedroom apartment to another. I picked them because they could move me sooner than anyone else I called. I described the situation (both apartments on the 3rd floor, no elevators, first on a garden row where you'd have to park on another street). The person who scheduled me thought that, based on my description, two movers should have everything moved under 3 hours (but they have a 3 hour minimum). Reader, that person was wrong. I had the true pleasure of working with Alex and Joe, who immediately informed me I should have hired more movers and that this was not going to take 3 hours. All three of us worked and carried for about 5 and a half hours all told. It was a *lot* of work - I felt bad for asking as much as I did, but it did get done. It may have been the rushed aspect of the move, but some of my stuff did get banged up. Nothing serious. The boxes I marked "fragile" made it through fine, though I noticed they didn't always get carried with the most care. They got me where I wanted to go and I'm grateful. For people considering scheduling with them: I wouldn't trust them to plan your move, but the people they send are solid folks who work very hard. read more

Yep, Haul Zing did live up to its 5-star rating. I recently had the pleasure of having HZ facilitate a 2 stage, 3.5hr move (storage unit, then old apt, finishing at new apt). They arrived early, jumped right in and then it was all "assholes and elbows" from then on. They were amiable, careful, and swift! Could not have asked for anything more. They seem to be priced well and I must say that the manager is quite helpful and runs a tight ship. read more

I must say, Haul Zing really is as good as it gets. I never ever considered giving a shout-out on Yelp but after meeting my movers, Everette and Deven, I am completely fine with it. So, shoutout to Everette and Deven for doing an awesome job and taking me out of bitch mode with your pleasant attitudes (and kind of just ignoring me too). I did't want to budge from bitch mode either because for one, I thought they were going to try to get over on me (if you've read any of my car shop reviews you know I have paranoia about people trying to take advantage) and two I didn't feel like paying movers in the first place. I eventually got over it though. They did my job in under two hours and even put my bed together! I got like five quotes but went with them because of Yelp reviews and they responded the fastest. Everyone charged what they charged or more. As far as the move went, they were even calm moving my difficult armoire. This piece of furniture is the reason I get movers. I've had movers take my door off for it. I've even seen some drop it. Not these two. I don't even remember them breaking a sweat with it. Scuse me!! Highly recommend! read more

How much does it suck to move in on a rainy day from the burbs to DC? Well, it would have sucked if I didn't have the help of Will and Ma'aku. I scheduled the appointment with Eddie and they came right on time on a rainy, cold Saturday morning. They worked quickly and efficiently and were very careful with my things. I didn't have a lot and nothing was really heavy so that helped. I would definitely recommend these guys! read more

Um, wow. Nobody likes to move, but HaulZing makes the process -- dare I say -- enjoyable. Carl and Andrew (a) showed up on time (b) worked quickly (c) knew exactly what they were doing and (d) saved my back and legs from certain destruction. I have no idea how these guys do it. It certainly helped that I was prepared for the move (had my things organized and taped up in boxes), but I was floored by how quickly I was moved out of my old apartment into my 4th-floor walk-up a mile away. Also, the communication with Eddie was fantastic. He was quick to respond to questions about the service and was generally a pleasure to deal with. Please, if you need to move, make sure you talk to these guys first. Use Haul Zing! read more

Remember that bit about not wanting to move again? The best laid plans . . . grumble grumble. When my stupid landlord decided he wanted his stupid condo back, I was on the road again. I was a little worried that all of these five star reviews would have somehow ruined Haul Zing. Like maybe too many people were in on the secret now, or maybe they'd gotten cocky with all of the positive reinforcement. Silly me! They're still the best movers around. In contrast to last time around, this was the most stressful move of my entire life (for a whole host of reasons that have nothing to do with Haul Zing). Among other things, I didn't actually have a signed lease and/or confirmation that I could move in until, like, nanoseconds before my drop dead date at my old place. Just as last time, Eddie was incredibly accomodating with all of my uncertainty and was able to book me on my preferred date/time, even though it was the very end of the month. And just as last time, they were super prompt. Henry gave me a heart attack by calling at 7:30 am to say that he and Maaku were on their way, but they arrived right at 8:45 (15 minutes before our scheduled start time). They got right to it, loading everything up with the same care I would have taken and being quite efficient in the process. I really appreciate that Maaku took the time to tie everything down on the truck so that nothing was bouncing around on the trip across town. In the end, the move took a full hour longer than any of us had anticipated, but there is no way that anyone else could have completed it more quickly. And because of the way that Haul Zing presents their estimates--$X for Y hours, plus $Z per every 15 minutes over Y hours--there were still no surprises with the final bill. This time around I know better than to say anything about not moving again--it's inevitable that I will have to, and probably sooner than I would like. And when I do, I will call Haul Zing. read more

I moved on October 29, 2010. All I have to say is that Eddie and the crew (that came to my house) were fabulous! No complaints. They came on time, got right to work and were finished within the three hour estimate. The cost of the move was $299 and well worth it. I ended up giving both of the movers a $20 tip because they were so efficient. I highly recommend Haul Zing as a moving company! Thanks guys! read more

Awesome, will definitely use again. I found these guys on Craigs List and was kind of skeptical because I had no idea who they were. But Eddie and Carl did a great job and were a pleasure to be around, even after 6 hours straight of moving my stuff to 2 locations. They disassembled and reassembled perfectly and handled everything with great care. Eddie's got a great business-sense and Carl can handle an old-school 12" TV with the best of them. And just like everyone said in the reviews I read, they were prompt so make sure you're done packing well before they are scheduled to come. I'm looking forward to see how Eddie's company expands and to using them in the future again. read more

Eddie and the team at Haul Zing were amazing with our move into storage today. Great to work with throughout the process. Eddie even came over ahead of the move to scope it out and make sure his team was right for the job. During the move, everything was well planned out. His team was careful with all of our stuff, especially some of our paintings and other fragile pieces. I can't recommend them any more highly. read more

I needed to do a move from Vienna to Fairfax, with a stop at a storage facility. Russel and Ma'aku were my movers, and called me about an hour before they were scheduled to ask if I was ready. This was a change, because the last time I moved I had to call the moving company to remind them about the appointment! I needed another 30 minutes, which was fine by them. I had a fairly simple move, and they both were quick and efficient, and very careful with my stuff. The move took longer than I planned, but that was more about me underestimating the timing than anything else. All in all, the move went off without a hitch, even with the extra stop and loading stuff into a small storage closet. Russel & Ma'aku were great, and I would highly recommend them for your next move. read more

Yes, yes, yes! These guys came recommended by another moving company that was booked the weekend I wanted to move, and I couldn't be happier with their service! Riqo and Malachi arrived on time and worked quickly. They secured my furniture so there would be no scratches, moved my boxes, and even helped me throw out items I didn't want to bring with me. The whole move--from start to finish--took 2 hours. 2 HOURS. Therefore, the entire bill was $240--and I would have paid more (shhh!). Riqo and Malachi were super-friendly, as well. I highly recommend this company. They made my move impossibly easy. (Note, however, that I think they only move one bedroom apartments.) read more

Sorry this has taken so long to write!! Haulzing helped my husband and I move in July 2012 and I have been meaning to get on here and compliment them! From beginning to end, Haulzing was great! I've dealt with moving companies before that are responsive until they get your $$. Nothing matters after that. Haulzing was responsive, friendly and most importantly gentle with our furniture and personal items! They would consult us and tell us if they didn't feel comfortable with the way things were packaged! It was so nice they took the time to care!!! Henry, Everette and Mark were our movers and I would use them again in a heart beat! So sweet too. Lastly, their prices were VERY competitive. Thanks again Haulzing!!! read more

From the beginning, the guys at Haul Zing were wonderful and true professionals. They responded to emails in a timely fashion, called me to go over the specifics of the move, and showed up early on move day. Will and Garry are awesome!!! They moved everything at lightning speed and with no problems whatsoever, including a few unwieldy pieces of furniture and a large glass tabletop. Not only would I recommend them for anyone on the lookout for a reliable moving company, but I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Let's face it, everyone hates moving but Haul Zing made the process easy and painless. They were prompt, professional, hard working and priced extremely well. Alex, Max and Bill were great and made quick work of my move. I would highly recommend Haul Zing for anyone looking to get the job done right. read more

These guys probably don't need another 5-star review, but they definitely deserve it. Not only were they able to help me out on extremely short notice, they did an excellent job with the awkward layout of my house. Fast, friendly, and reliable. I hope I don't have to move again anytime soon, but if I do Haul Zing will definitely be the first call I make. read more

We used another moving service in 2011 who did great work for us, but when we called them recently to move us again in 2012 we found that their rate increase jacked up our total to almost $200 more. Talk about inflation! We called Haul Zing. Unlike our previous move, we were moving from high rise to a house, with an additional stop to pick up more stuff out of storage. When they showed up with a smaller truck and only two guys, I was skeptical. These guys hustled, and got everything done in the same time the previous company did... with the additional stop. They had a third guy come help out so they could try to make the promised time (which they did) at no additional charge to me. There was no hidden "long walk" or "extra stair" charges at the end. They did more work than the other company did for me a year ago, and came in $100 less than their 2011 price ($300 less than their 2012 price). These guys are very good and I would use them again. Everett, Mark, and Garry were workhorses and did great work. read more

I've booked Haul Zing for two moves (worked with Eddie and Sirack) and can't say enough about them. They called to let me know an estimated time of arrival the morning of the move and got straight to work once they got to the apartment. Since I was moving just a few blocks down, I was a little lazy in packing up all of my stuff. Not a problem for the movers, who moved everything they could for me, even random items that weren't in boxes, haphazardly packed dinnerware, lamps with lightbulbs - and everything went off without a hitch. The only thing that was a (very, very) minor issue was that my fan fell off the cart, which they quickly informed me of and told me to contact them if there was any issue with the fan. They then offered to repair the fan or a $25 credit. For the second move, I called at the beginning of the week to reschedule last minute which they were able to accommodate. Once again, great move - you have nothing to worry about if you're booking a move with Haul Zing! Affordable, professional, efficient and overall great movers! read more

From start to finish, Eddie and the Haul Zing team truly impressed me and made my move a BREEZE. If you enjoy supporting local businesses that actually do good work and care about their product, choose these guys. Also, they by far gave me the best price quote, so if you are a 20 something this is right in your price range. I am that person who walks into Best Buy, ridiculously informed and with the CNET reviews in hand. I went about searching for movers in the same fashion, and Haul Zing did not disappoint me at all! First, Eddie was so fast and responsive to my zillions of questions about moving. When I made a change in my original move-in time, Eddie was able to accommodate me no problem! Eddie actually did my move with Matt, and they were both incredibly personable, respectful, courteous etc etc! They worked quickly but also took great care of my items - honestly doing about 1000x better than I could have done with a Uhaul and some friends. I had reserved emergency parking at my new place, but of course, people were parked in both spots. I totally freaked out and Eddie was calm and made the best of the situation, still unpacking the truck right on time. To demonstrate how pain-free the moving process was, I had the energy to unpack 90% of my boxes that afternoon AND go enjoy my Saturday night. I really don't know what to say other than to go with Haul Zing. I was so impressed and I will definitely call Eddie next time I move. read more

Haul Zing exceeded my expectations... everything about working with them was great! They provided a quote in a timely manner and took time to ask questions about what exactly we wanted moved (to make sure it would all fit). Their quote was for a flat hourly rate, no funny extra charges---awesome! Their rate was very competitive... and, even better, I could put it all on my credit card, so no worrying about having cash on hand or writing a check! They showed up on time; in fact, they showed up right at the beginning of their scheduled move-window and they did call about an hour before arriving. Everett and Will worked very hard and very quickly; they hustled the entire time and got us moved for their base-rate of 3 hours of move time! (not the max estimate of 5.5 hrs!). We lucked out and had perfect weather that day... unfortunately, I don't think Haul Zing can control the weather. We moved a very full 1-bedroom to a house (though left a few of the larger items to stage the apartment). I intend to use Haul Zing again to finish the job when we need the large pieces moved to our new home. Unfortunately Haul Zing only does one-bedrooms and smaller moves (though they will also do single-piece moves if you just need one or two small items moved). Also, I should note that we had (nearly) everything packed and ready to go when they showed up... if you're 100% prepared for them to come, your move will go much more quickly/smoothly. I could never go back to renting my own moving truck... it's such a pain in the butt; every time I've done it, it seems like they are out of the truck size I ordered or don't have any trucks left at that lot... so they send you to some far-out industrial park; it's just a nightmare. Plus, once Will and Everett were done unloading, I could relax and start unpacking... I didn't have to worry about returning the moving truck to some far flung parking lot. Also, it was nice not having to move all those heavy boxes and figure out how to pack the truck; Will and Everett are pros at packing the truck and maneuvering furniture. They took great care with all of our furniture (they even have their own mattress pad cover and moving blankets!) and there wasn't a scratch on anything (walls or furniture); furthermore, not a single broken dish in the move, either! read more

These guys were life-savers. Reasonably-priced and fantastic service. They moved me into my apartment during a record heat summer day and did so quickly as well as taking great care of my furniture/boxes. They even offered to put together my Ikea furniture (although I was happy to do this myself). I really don't have enough good things to say about these guys. read more

haul zing is absolutely amazing. i hatehateHATE moving - i moved 5x over 6 years & had incredibly stressful experiences each time, the final time with a moving company sent from the depths of hell to torment humanity (see 1 of my 3 past reviews). it was traumatizing, but it was also my bad: i didn't check yelp first & was seduced by a low quote. but i learned my lesson: this time i checked & rechecked yelp, carefully picked a company, & was rewarded for my due diligence. from the phone set up to the move, things could not have gone more smoothly & stress-free. at first they were all booked up for moving season since i called only a few days before my move, but as soon as a spot opened, eddie contacted me to squeeze me into their extremely busy schedule & set up a quote over the phone that was incredibly reasonable. my movers russell & daniel were just great - they arrived a few minutes early, were incredibly friendly (& entertaining), professional, and worked very efficiently. eddie had estimated my move to take 1.5-2hrs, and it took 1hr 45min. all my stuff arrived in perfect condition. i have to move again in about 2 weeks but i'm not even stressed anymore cuz i will definitely be using haul zing again & i know i'll be taken care of! read more

After thoroughly checking out reviews for local movers on Yelp, I settled on Haul Zing and really wish I could give them a better review. But it took more than twice the time estimated and cost plenty more ($725 vs. the $299 +$25/quarter hour after that I expected). Moreover the move began with 3 guys and then 1 disappeared with Eddie after he checked in and could clearly see that it was taking far longer to load than planned, though nothing was ever explained to me. With only 2 guys, needless to say, things spiraled from there. In short, I think they probably do small, straightforward moves well, but I would strongly suggest that if you use them, you are very careful about giving details to make sure the estimate is accurate. We all know that moving is stressful enough without watching the clock and slow-moving movers on top of it!!! read more
