My modem and my router... I don't know how much band width I have but I am satisfied with the cash for interwebs exchange. Original supporter but Service has sunk to a new low Always have promoted doing business with local providers but I've reaching a limit. Small area previously serviced by Prestige Cable bought out by Adelphia, bankruptcy, short term Time Warner till it was established that the local towns with their original agreements had the right to form their own cable company which they did that that is MI(Mecklenburg - Iredell) company. They did and in additional to cable, they have expanded as most have to Internet and VOIP. Generally pretty good until about a 12 - 18 months ago. I know they outsource customer and technical support Twice in the past three months, Internet service has gone out at least four times for me. Cable still worked each time. They replaced the first and the next two, after lengthy time with Tech Support and no luck, ended up scheduling a service call three to five days out. Shortly after each time I had scheduled a service call, it corrected itself and I ended up canceling. Sometime after 8:30 pm on Sunday, it went out again (seems to be related to rainy weather). Called and the best they could give me was Thursday. Had my wife call the next day and they were able to give her a choice between Wednesday and Saturday. She chose Wednesday even though it means missing one of her regular meetings. Guess what, it's Tuesday evening and without anything, all light are on on the modem and it's working. I normally would cancel the appointment but will let this one go through and let''s see how it plays out. Used to have great service but four days for a service call is not acceptable. read more

I have been with this company for a while since it was owned by the towns locally. They were always below mediocre. Had issues on internet and tv but the price was somewhat reasonable. 4 TVs (2 with recording) an internet 200 down and 10 up for about $130 plus tax = $140. I stayed with them because they were local. Now I get a bill for $195 and when I call they tell me my bill will actually be $260 a month and the only discount they have is $30 to bring my monthly bill to around $214 plus tax. Then they tell me they will be saving me $360 a year. That is crazy and audacious!! I called up spectrum and their service is 3 months for $30 and $106 for 2 more years. ATT is $125 for premium tv and 500 mb up/down plus they give you a $150 Visa card. I am shocked with the way I am being treated by TDS! I really don't want to go through the hassle of switching but what choice do I have? How dumb and greedy is this company? read more

Stay away from Continuum. Pros: - The technicians are polite - The rates are affordable Cons: The customer service is the worst you will ever experience. Any positive reviews you see are folks who have just recently had their internet installed. Any issues with billing (such as prices randomly raising on your invoice with no explanation, ghost charges, etc), problems the online client portal, and outages will not be received with professionalism if Continuum responds at all. You will have a hard time reaching Continuum, and when you do, it's likely an outsourced call center that can't help, or a rude representative in Mooresville. To top it all off, the company recently rebranded from "MI Connection" to "Continuum". There were so many negative reviews online for MI Connection that they rebranded to Continuum to start fresh. But a changed name can't change a failure of a business. Do everything you can to stay away from Continuum. read more

So I've been a hostage customer of Continuum for a few years now. Advertised as a local cable company ( duh) can't use anyone else, they provide similar services as Spectrum would using the same equipment. I've recently upgraded my very slow, never near 50 MPs ( ha ha my internet just dropped off) service for their flagship 500 MPs service. I still get zero to 2 MPs After calling their tech support they said it would be two weeks for a tech to come out to investigate. So for the next two weeks I can look at other vendors while these idiots figure out how to do simple shit. Avoid this service, rejoice if you are in an area where competition is allowed. read more

The worst business ever. I cannot even begin to list my issues with MI. It is very much a huge frustration when this is our only option living in Cornelius for cable, phone and WiFi options. They have a complete monopoly, but like to play the "family run, small business" card. Their pricing is great to bring you in, but then after your 1st year they gauge you, by increasing the rate over $50. Their "special" pricing is only for new customers...but they don't care how they treat the old ones? They claimed they we're still giving me a "deal." We've had issues with our cable, there is no customer service after noon on Saturday. You are then left to wait until Monday morning to resolve any issue You have. I cannot suggest enough that you find another service. They will do anything and everything to give you bad service and then hit you with silly, nominal fees when you finally wise up and change services. Loyal customer for 4 years, moved residence, finally switch to AT&T and Continuum took final payment electronically and then added extra charges so they could charge us more without so much a phone call to let us know. I called customer service to see if I could extend my payment, spoke with a Pamela she said no problem extended till the 4th of April. I thought everything was fine. I only worked 10 hours that week so payment wasn't in account what do you know they charged my credit card with no money in there and got overdraft fees. The pricing is slightly lower than TWC. The services are comparable. The only problem is that the internet loses it's gumbo here and there and I've reset and gotten new router thinking it was my problem. The Cable is "okay" Nothing to get excited about. The HD channels won't record properly for some reason? So I haven't watched HD channels in ages. Don't even think about using them to rent a movie you'll pay 5 bucks! Just break out the Roku or grab a RedBox. I did fight with them on pricing a year into using them they budged and lowered my bill by $9.00 a month. Our Internet speed has not changed for a long time (Continuum recently ran commercials that they had upgraded speeds - "just reboot your cable modem", they said), so started to try and review options....Continuum shows on their website entry package at 50/5, then 100/10, 150.15, etc. I email about speed (currently paying $40/month - no info about what speed I have is on the bill - I measure 6/3 - sad face) and am offered the highest speed for $99.95 per month (website shows it as "And, right now just $59.95/month for an entire year!"). I'm told (2nd or 3rd contact email) my speed/package, that it is still offered, but no longer advertised. So - have to send another email to ask what is the cost for 50/5 bundled. Turns out for $4.50 more per month, I can go 8X faster. Just had to send 4-5 emails and repeatedly ask probing about the website offerings to do it. Continuum - we understand business and the need to run a business, but transparency and clarity are missing. We get it, but don't really like "getting it" when it comes to picking the best option. You are the ONLY company I have to Bill Pay 2-3 days before the due date to avoid a late fee and your are only one town over. How does that figure. Be better in business - transparent, forthcoming, add actual value, don't hide information, contact customers about options if packages are essentially extinct, label bills clearly...as a "local business", provide a good example business for our area, our children and neighbors. Just had MI Connection installed...installer did not put in a modem...so still no internet. Who installs internet service and forgets to put in a modem? Ok, so MI tech support says no modem needed...installer had us put in a switch first because he stated the room with the panel in it was not good for a wireless router. Tech support says you have to put in router first, then add a switch. Working to get internet service...but this still has is pretty bad to give inaccurate advice. read more

Have now been with Continuum Internet services in my home for over one year. Internet/Data services have been at speeds as purchased and consistent for the majority of time. During this time, we have had only 6 complete outages of services and for 2 of them we were notified prior to outage that services would be down for required maintenance. Challenge anyone to compare with these numbers. When there have been outages, they were for minimal time periods and were recognized by Customer Care when I called to report. They communicate well. These consistent services and communications have been critical to family during last 6-8 months with both remote school and business communications. GREAT PROVIDER AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Additionally, challenge anyone to beat their introductory and ongoing cost for Internet Services. And NO I nor any family members have any relationship with this company. My Husband and I are transplants from CT and have been here for about two years. Unfortunately at times, I am one of those Northerners who wants things done yesterday and I have little tolerance for things taking too long. I admit it isn't something that I'm proud of, but it exists nonetheless to some degree. In either case, when we first relocated from up North, we moved to Davidson where we utilized Time Warner Cable for only their internet services. We loved the service and never had any issues. About a year and a half later as we closed on our condo in Cornelius, we were looking around the neighborhood and noticed a plethora of satellite dishes. We felt that it was odd but didn't really put too much thought into it. When we went to register for internet services we quickly realized that we had very little to choose from that wasn't going to be a dish - which we didn't want any part of. Not to mention the price was outrageous and the plans were horrible... We looked at the reviews for Mi Connection and made the decision to avoid them at all costs. Really, what we essentially did, was upgrade our data plan and get a hotspot through Verizon. That was one of the biggest mistakes we had made. The internet was so disgustingly slow and choppy. It would take over two hours to watch a 30 minute TV show on Hulu or Netflix. Surprisingly, we tried to make it work by purchasing antennas and placing it in different areas of the home. We suffered through it for months somehow. My Husband couldn't work from home, we couldn't get our internet browser to load even enough to check email or pay bills. Essentially I broke down and read the reviews of Mi connection again. My Husband was pretty adamant about not going with them but he had reached his breaking point too... I saw that they had maybe 4 good reviews and I thought maybe we can be be one of those people lol. Anyways - this awesome guy shows up (Tom O'rourke) to set us up with internet. I slept through my alarm because I was up all night with my newborn. I frantically called and texted asking if he was still in the area and he told me he would come right back after the install he had Scheduled after us. I should also add that he was completely understanding and kind. I may have liked him from the beginning because he was a New Yorker - but I quickly realized how skilled and intelligent he was in terms of his craft. He was fast, efficient and even took the time to fully explain everything. We had internet installed within about 15 minutes and he told me we had picked out a perfect router that would provide us with a fantastic internet connection. He was right! I'll admit, I was apprehensive because of all the reviews bashing everything that Mi connection is - but between our technician and the Customer service rep - we couldn't be happier. Tom was saying some of the issue with folks getting such poor service had something to do with outdated technology being used by the Customers. I wanted to go ahead and post a picture of the router we used to maybe help out existing Customer with horrible speeds and also encourage new customers to try it out. It is on the pricier side - but you get what you pay for. We have amazing internet without buffering at all, without having to have a dish and for something around $50.00 a month. I couldn't be happier with our choice to switch. Now if only I could figure out what to do with our hotspot... maybe use it as a hockey puck on our trip to CT this upcoming winter. read more

We had two different places connected to internet and cable, one was coax and the other was fiber optic (?). Both technicians were professional, nice, timely. The cable works just fine. The internet had streaming troubles only occassionally at the Langtree Apartments(lots of users), but it usually reset pretty quickly. I'm not sure why the low overall rating. Have only been "connected" for 5 days and have only had true connection for 2. They've given me the run around even having me go out to them to get a new modem since no tech could come for 1 week! Get the new modem and still no service so now need to wait a week for a tech. Between 5 separate calls to them, as a new customer, I'm not recommending them to anyone at this point. This is the worst cable service on the planet. Ever since I moved to NC 9 months ago I have had issue after issue with the cable. First off the software is so archaic. I feel like I've stepped into the 1960's. What a joke. Just now I accidentally pressed some button or buttons on the remote control. After spending 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get the cable back up and failing I called the tech department. Absolutely NO HELP! The tech sat there reading through guides which provided no solution telling me to YouTube the problem. What????? NO. I'm paying for a service. You are the tech. You should be more knowledgeable and not tell me to YouTube it! I would have dropped this provider in a heartbeat but they have a monopoly over where I live. Ugh!!!!!!! Get your act together. The worst cable and internet service I've ever had. Bad buffering issues with web services make it difficult if not impossible to stream shows. The cable service is expensive for subpar coverage. If you have a problem they charge to send a technician to your home even if it's their low quality device that needs to be changed. I lived for years on a small mountain lake in NJ and received far better service at a far lower price from the local cable company.
