Quite frankly, I tried to save money by piecemealing things, prior to hiring them. In the long run, I had people steal from me, walk out on the job, and even be abusive and cause mental stress. ENTER...802 Builders! They are amazing, and true professionals. They roll in with every piece of equipment you could imagine, arrive on time, are kind and communicative, and after six months of waiting on others -- they are banging out a beautiful job, just in the first day they're here. I'm giddy with excitement as my punch list gets smaller and smaller and it's all taking shape. I feel so blessed to have found them and, though you have to be patient to wait your turn, they are fast, efficient, friendly and it was well worth the wait. I highly endorse them, and will have them do a rough bid on some other projects, since they have such advanced skills, save up the funds, and keep bringing them back. We got an Amish Antique wood table from here. The table took awhile to come due to COVID delays and…read morewas delivered in October 2020. We came to our cottage to have it delivered. We did not use the table over the winter as it is a summer cottage. It became clear in May 2021 there were some serious craftsman issues with the table when we began to use the table in May 2021. We went to the shop in Westmoreland with pictures and explained the issues. We initially, "it is living wood". The owner came by to see the table. 3 of the four ends are 1/4 inch too short and do not line up with the table. It looks bad. And the makers used wood putty to fill holes made of wood and glue, a big piece was coming up and is quite sharp. The visited in early June 2021 about potentially fixing the pieces coming up issue. No one has ever gotten back to us in about 6 weeks. I called them. And the "living wood" with the 1/4 inch mismatched ends has not "grown back" to match the main table (see image). It is a pretty poorly made piece of furniture from an appearance perspective. Update: this table is likely going to be repaired now.

They are reliable, honest, and operate with the utmost integrity. To make a long story short, we purchased two exterior doors from them that leaked after being installed in the summer of 2023. RK Miles contacted the manufacturer and accompanied them to inspect the doors. Unsure whether it was a manufacturing problem, but suspecting it was due to improper installation on the part of our contractor, both rk MILES and the manufacturer [REEB] stood firmly behind their products. They offered to replace both door frames free of charge! Upon removing the original door frames, as suspected, they found several installation issues with the leaky doors. Despite this, RK Miles went above and beyond the call of duty with the replacement door frames--installing an extra-heavy-duty pan under each sill with two adhesive layers and flashing behind the entire door jamb on both sides of each frame. Not to mention that you wouldn't have even known they had been here upon completion! I can honestly say that we will never shop anywhere else for our building materials and hardware again--ever! We had contacted them about a floor model and Bob the owner took time to chat with us and explain many things about wood stoves and way they are sold in the US. Coming originally from the UK, we found the US approach to marketing and pricing very different. We eventually decided the stove we were looking at was not the one for us, and also it made sense to contact a dealer nearer to our home in Woodstock. Bob never gave us the impression of feeling that we were wasting his time and is to be commended on his personal approach and also speedy e-mail correspondence. We highly recommend this store.

He drew up plans the next day and I now have a woodshed and screened in back porch. Previous renovations (done by another local contractor/ builder) were shoddy and allowed for major water damage that was hidden from me when I bought the house, but became apparent shortly after we started living in the house. HandyMan demo-d and removed all the water damaged flooring and sub-floor, redid the sub-floor with proper moisture barrier and heat insulation, and demo-d and and rebuilt two bathrooms in about two months. They started and finished exactly on time, and the bathrooms look amazing. Ian and Evan display high quality workmanship (flooring and tiling) and a professional, kind attitude. I also had a great experience working with the new design point-person, Petra. She was indispensable in helping me design the bathroom of my dreams, and took many trips all around the area to find the right materials and paint colors. I am thrilled with the final product and now have two perfect bathrooms, beautiful flooring that will withstand all the weather ups and downs, and a new laundry room. Finally, Steve was very professional and transparent about all the details, change orders, invoices, etc... I was always consulted before any changes were made to the original plan.
