I was looking for dance classes for my girlfriend and I through Groupon and stumbled upon Continental Dance Club. After speaking with other instructional dance companies I decided to go with Felicia and her company. Her raw passion and professionalism is insurmountable. She was very kind and helpful in getting us scheduled and setup for private lessons. When we arrived we were greeted with a great atmosphere and professional staff. Our instructor Fernando, was excellent. I have two left feet and he was able to get me into a rhythm that actually looked like dancing. My girlfriend and I learned a lot and we both had a lot of fun! I would highly recommend this company to anyone that is looking to have fun and learn! read more

My fiancé and I came to Felicia's dance class less than four weeks before our wedding, and now just one week out, we feel incredibly confident. She transformed us from complete amateurs into a couple that looks like we've been dancing together for a year. Felicia has the perfect balance of professionalism and humor. She keeps us laughing while helping us move gracefully and naturally. Our routine is complex yet elegant, easy to follow, and fits our chemistry perfectly. She's a true professional who knows exactly what style suits each couple best. Every class feels like a mini escape from wedding stress. It's become one of our favorite parts of the week. She genuinely cares about her students, gives us homework to keep improving, and celebrates every little win with us. If you're looking for a dance instructor who's talented, fun, and truly invested in making you shine, Felicia is the one. We couldn't be happier or more grateful for the confidence and joy she's brought us heading into our big day. We will be continuing dancing classes with her after our wedding for sure! read more

I can't say enough great things about Felicia and Fernando and their salsa lessons. What I thought I knew about salsa barely scratched the surface! Training with them has completely changed how I see the art of dance. Their knowledge, passion, and attention to detail are incredible, and the way they break down technique, timing, and connection makes even complex movements feel approachable. They don't just teach steps, they teach understanding. Every class leaves me learning something new. Felicia and Fernando are patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in their students' growth. If you're serious about learning salsa the right way, this studio is a gem. read more

Felicia and Fernando are simply the best--very good dance instructors and just down to earth people who are passionate about dance and teaching others to dance. Fernando has been so patient with both of us and I look forward to each and every lesson. I don't feel intimidated like I did at other places-Its pure fun and encouraging! We have already been to Fred Astaire in Morristown and signed up for several private lessons but left feeling like we really didn't learn anything! read more

I had a great experience at this dance studio today. My private lesson with Felicia was awesome. I learned how to dance the bachata and it was a positive experience. I love their music. It's a great place how to learn to dance. I recommend everyone to come visit this location. It's very fun and exciting. The people who work here are smart people. I love this place. There is a Russian saying - doctor from god, or teacher from god. can apply to any trade. It means the person does it as a calling, something you can not learn in any school, and is a master at it. This is how I would describe Felicia. We hired her to choreograph our wedding dance. My wife used to be a dancer but I was a much tougher case - putting it lighly, yet she made us both look our best. Our friends and family coming up to us at the wedding started out with - who did you hire to do that dance, oh and congratulations. Needless to say, we were glad we went with Continental Dance Club and wish Felicia and everyone at the studio continued success. read more

Fernando was our instructor for our upcoming wedding this month! He is patient, funny and amazing to work with! Choreographed our dance and taught us basic dance moves so my fiancé and I won't look like idiots for our first dance. Even though the drive is long (Brooklyn), we decided to take our lessons with Fernando because we really like him! read more

I was very impressed with Continental Dance Club. I did not regret buying this Groupon for the group salsa class. I received a warm welcome to their studios. Professionalisms at their best. Very nice people and super accommodating! Working with them to get our wedding dance routine down.

My fiancé and I LOVE this place. We are not dancers AT ALL, but we wanted to find a way to look good for our first dance in a wedding. We procrastinated and came in 2 weeks before our wedding date to learn a full routine--everyone at this studio did not doubt us for a second and worked so hard to make our big day special. They are so encouraging, supportive, and dedicated to not only our dance, but to us as people. It is such a positive environment. I go from having such a terrible day to stepping into the studio at 8:30 at night and suddenly I'm energized, happy, and my whole day is turned around. We love Felicia, Fernando, and Yaan so much. They are such good, effective teachers that have given us so much new confidence. We know we are going to surprise everyone with our dance and we owe it all to Continental Dance Studio!!! Highly recommend! read more

We bought a Groupon for multiple classes to prepare for our upcoming wedding. When I called to schedule our first class, Felicia answered and took my information (of the song and my dress) with such enthusiasm that I was getting more excited. You can tell she was brainstorming with ideas from that first conversation. We scheduled a session but later Felicia called back and was able to get us in that night to work with Fernando because of a last minute opening. After our first class we signed up for 20 hours to work on our first dance. The first few classes with Fernando were to learn basic moves for our type of dance that fit our music. Fernando is very patient and breaks you of your "two left feet" mentality. He was great in getting us ready to work with Felicia. With only a few weeks in, we are well on our way with our choreographed first dance. Felicia has taken us well beyond what we ever thought we could get to. They have very different teaching styles which insures that you understand and stay focused on your goal. Felicia really listens to what you want and balances that with what you are capable of, while still having the ability to "wow" a crowd. We have had nothing short of a great time every time we are in the studio. This has been such a great stress reliever with all the wedding planning that comes in the last two months. I highly recommend this studio to anyone, not only for a wedding, but for a great date night. read more

With no dance experience and great instruction and patience from Fernando and Felicia, the father/daughter dance at our daughter's wedding was a special and memorable experience for all. Thank you both for your hard work and flexibility to help us make this happen. read more

My fiancé and I signed up for dance lessons for our wedding day. Turn out, she used to dance here when she was younger. I, myself, am not a dancer. I was so nervous in the beginner. I expected to be horrible and not really be able to dance. We started off with Fernando, who helped us with the basics. I was like, okay, cool. I got this. My fiancé and I practiced at home and she helped me to get the steps down. By our 3rd lesson, we were working with Felicia. She began to help us with the choreography and putting it all together. She really is an amazing instructor. She made these two left feet actually find some rhythm! I couldn't believe it when I actually did a routine. It was awesome. Now, we still have a few lessons to go and plenty of time to perfect our dance. I'm so happy my fiancé convinced me to try dance lessons and I know our first dance is going to be amazing!! Hey, I may even come back one day for other lessons... try out some different moves :) read more

Fernando and Felicia did an excelente job teaching us a wedding dance routine in short time from wedding. We had minimal to know experience.

Felicia is choreographing the first dance for our wedding and she is fantastic!! Learning to dance from Felicia and Fernando is great. They each have different styles but both keep the lessons fun. The space is convenient and there is ample parking on the street or nearby lots. Also, lessons can be scheduled so it's convenient to you (after work, on weekends). read more

I had such a pleasant experience just from calling to make an appointment, I just had to share it. First off Felicia has an awesome personality. Very energetic, welcoming, and accommodating. I've also done extensive research on Dance instructors and I can honestly say Continental Dance Club is one of the best, if not the best studios I've come across. They teach lessons for many different types of dance and nobody even comes close to their introductory rates! I've had a private salsa lesson once before but next week will be my first time with Continental Dance Club. I'm beyond excited and I know next week, I'll back on here writing a great review on my soon to be awesome experience. read more

I purchased a 4 week salsa for me and my boyfriend. We are beginner level dancers and absolutely loving it. Our instructor Andrew has broken down the salsa techniques step by step and made it easy for us to comprehend. It encourages us to take what we have learned and practice it at home! The studio is spacious and very clean! The owner Felicia is wonderful and she passionate about dance! She remembers everyone who enters her studio and wants to share her passion for dance with all. I am usually a shy person, but the environment is very relaxed, fun, and welcoming. I recommend this studio to all levels of dancers! read more

Signing my wife and I up for dance lessons is unquestionably one of the best Christmas gifts I've ever given my wife. We had an excellent coach. Fernando is patient, firm, funny and a great teacher. He had to be to teach me Salsa. He has the amazing ability to clearly identify what you need to work on and then break it down for you to help you master a move or step. We really enjoyed Fernando's expert instruction. I was given a few choices in dance clubs when I was looking for one last winter. I called Continental 1st and didn't make it to the others. Continental's approach ad fee structure made it easy to sign up. We were immediately hooked after only a session or two. The greatest benefit I got from dance lessons at Continental is the huge smile I put on my wife's face everytime I successfully executed a dance move. Priceless. If you're looking for a challenge, want to build confidence, do something cool, learn a new skill and thrill your spouse, sign up for dance lessons at Continental. We had a great experience. Best money we've ever spent. read more

Felicia was very fun and energetic. We went in not sure if we'll be ready for our wedding dance with limited time to learn a whole choreography but Felicia gave us the confidence to nail it. She made us feel comfortable and was so fun we didn't feel stressed or worried. read more

My boyfriend and I came here absolutely CLUELESS about dancing. I had a problem with letting him lead and he was very stiff. Today sadly being our last class, he was leading me in bachata, spinning me left and right, making all the right moves and turns with merengue even after learning it at the last minute!! Felicia is incredible! Very kind and understanding. She makes each lesson fun and helped us understand all the steps. Any error she immediately corrected it and would even put herself in our position to properly show me or him the proper way. Classes are always something to look forward to and they go by so quickly because of how fun they can be! The days she wasn't available we had lessons with Fernando and he also worked very well with us and helped my boyfriend with salsa. Aside from dancing, they also are very flexible with scheduling. My boyfriend and I are always busy and they were completely willing to work with our schedules. Communication was never an issue and they understood we couldn't pay all at once either. We'll most definitely be coming back for more lessons! read more

The best thing I ever did was purchase a Groupon for Continental Dance Club 4 months ago! I really wanted to learn salsa and was never able to even do a basic step. Felicia promised me I would be dancing after my first lesson and she didn't disappoint! I quickly fell in love with the studio and with all of the teachers, and started taking private lessons with Fernando. Felicia and Fernando worked with me week after week, helping me to build confidence with dancing, while having so much fun. My dance lessons are my favorite part of the week. I'm beyond happy to be part of the Continental Dance Club family! read more

Felicia is a lot of fun and a wonderful dance instructor. We did plenty of learning but the night felt more like an experience than anything else. I would recommend her for any couple who wants to learn to dance and have a lot of fun doing it! read more

Felicia and Fernando are awesome - they are both funny, patient, and kind. They took me and my then fiancé (now wife) and taught us to dance so that we looked good for our wedding night and first dance. Between the two of us, we had zero dance experience so it was certainly a challenge. We learned basic steps and then they put it all together into a more cohesive routine for us that people were SHOCKED for. If you need to learn how to dance, this is your lifeline. read more

Our wedding guests literally ROARED during our First Dance. They said the dance itself was the highlight of the wedding. This wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for Felicia and her dance instructors. Felicia has so much energy and makes sure we get the choreography right. Aside from the dance routine, Felicia gave us excellent pointers regarding where the bridal party should stand during the dance routine. She also advised us how/where to look during the dance as it pertains to the photographer/videographer. As a result, our wedding pictures came out that much more amazing and symbolic than had we not taken her advice. Lastly, the secret to a successful dance is practicing on your own time. If you do not practice beyond the instructor sessions, you will only stress yourself out further, and likely forget what you learned. There is a lot to learn in each class, so you will have to continue practicing at home. Felicia was so kind as to offer use one of her her studio rooms to practice on our own. The studio is in a safe area in Bloomfield. We had our classes at night and felt completely fine. Not sure why others would feel otherwise. Thank you Felicia, you're the best! read more

Taking dance lessons with my fiancée at Continental Dance Club for our first dance was the best choice we have made for our wedding. With all the stress of planning a wedding this gave us something fun to do together and provided another way to continue to bond in spite of hectic wedding planning! Felicia and Fernando are both great instructors and break down the steps in a way that is easily comprehensible. My fiancée and I truly loved the personalized choreography that was provided. The dance was beautiful and Felicia made sure to incorporate postures that would be ideal for photography. I plan on going back to take more lessons. As a novice dancer, I never knew how much fun it could be to learn new dance moves!!! read more

My fiancé and I attended classes at Continental Dance Club for about 6 months before our wedding and we absolutely loved it!! Felicia is an expert in all styles of ballroom dancing and she really knows her stuff. She also has an amazing personality. My fiancé was a little hesitant at first with taking dance classes/doing a dance routine for wedding, but he quickly grew to love it (I think he became more obsessed than me, ha!). During the day of our wedding, everyone was floored and amazed at our dance routine. They thought it was the highlight of our reception. Our dance instructor was Carlos and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking to learn how to salsa or bachata. He worked with us diligently and taught us dance newbies how to salsa with style. The best part of it all now is that we can salsa anywhere, anytime. read more

My fiancé and I are currently working with Felicia to choreograph our wedding dance. She has taken us from tripping over 2 left feet to soaring across the dance floor in just a few lessons. We wanted to get a few dance lessons for our wedding when we came across Continental Dance Studio. From the onset we knew we had selected the right place. Felicia's energy and excitement is contagious. Although she may be eccentric in her ways, she really truly cares about her students and their routines. She genuinely wants the bride and groom to make a great first impression via their first dance. She is a great instructor and will push you but ultimately you will realize she's taught you more than you think. Although wedding time is very stressful, she made this part of it fun. After our wedding we plan on going back to her dance studio at least once a month for date night. Look no further and select Continental Dance Studio. read more

Felicia has been instrumental in helping me overcome my fear of dancing. She's firm, yet patient. And, she has a wonderful sense of humor. Lessons with her are always fun and informative. read more

Felicia is such a sweetheart and taught me and my wife how to dance to our song in just 3 lessons 2 days before we got married. She took on the crazy challenge and gave us an arsenal of moves and steps that made our first dance fun and didn't look like we were awkward high school kids just spinning around in circles and bobbing like a metronome. thank you Felicia! read more

We have been working with Felicia and Fernando for almost half a year and have had a wonderful experience. We came to Continental Dance Club to prepare for our wedding as both my fiancé and I are rather challenged when it comes to the art of dancing! Right away Felicia recognized that we would need a lot of work and helped us feel comfortable dancing. I lack rhythm and finesse, but Felicia was able to help us make prepare for our first wedding dance together so that we would be able to dance (and impress) our friends and family. We really enjoyed Felicia's sense of humor as we learned dance. My parents even came in for one lesson and we were able to practice a basic Waltz as well as work on some hustle steps. They were super impressed with Felicia! We worked with Felicia and Fernando at Continental Dance, but also got to meet some of the other instructors. They can teach all dance styles such as foxtrot, hustle, salsa, belly dancing, and waltz. Whatever the need and whatever the experience the staff at Continental Dance Club can assist. The scheduling is very accommodating and you can always work with any professional to find the time you need. For those who are preparing for their wedding I have two recommendations: 1. Start as early as possible. 2. Bring the dress in to Continental to ensure you can do the right moves! Tip: If you practice in the evening there is a parking lot on Bloomfield Ave that is free past 6 or 7 pm. read more

I'm lucky to have this school right by me - it's a gem! The school offers a variety of dance classes for all levels and are very affordable. I just completed the beginners salsa class with instructor Fernando who does a great job explaining and reexplaining the steps as much as you need. I look forward to continuing with him at the more intermediate level. A nice bonus is that after each class, the dance floor is open for an hour to anyone wanting to practice their new moves. Felicia the owner is very warm and makes an effort to get to know all of the students. I also appreciate that she is always around and happy to offer you a pointer or two as she is an accomplished dancer herself. This school is also a nice social outlet as I've met some very nice folks here from their 20s and up, and they also open their doors to dance parties and meetups. I would highly recommend Continental Dance Club to anyone! read more

We were just the beginners. I found this place on the internet and decided to give it a go. We came in with an open mind and not knowing what to expect and hoped for the best. My fiance then and I attended about 10 lessons both with Felicia and Fernando to learned how to simply dance for our selected wedding song. Both instructors treated us with the highest professionalism and respect from day one. We had their immediate attention and started learning the dance moves at a rapid pace. They both were very eager to help us and did a fantastic jobs to make sure we are ready to bust the moves on our big day. And so we did, we wowed the crowd. Felicia is more personable than Fernando, but both are excellent teachers. You need to get to know them little better in order to really appreciate their sense of humor and dedication. We had a great time dancing and will look forward learning new steps in the future. read more
