I worked in corporate America for 20 years and I decided one day I just had enough... So I took two years off and decided I would start fulfilling my real dreams and decided to start medical school... I know I'm crazy but I needed a change... Somewhere in the middle of killing myself in med school, I got the crazy idea to work on my second luv, so I enrolled in film school.... It's so crazy to be doing 2 things at one time, but I say, you only live once... The owner and director of NJ Film school is just heaven sent... Chris is just a full book of knowledge and I have the time of my life going to class every week... Currently, I'm just taking a starter course in film production, but I plan on staying to take classes in editing, screen writing and cinematography... Hopefully, if I continue to do well, I'll enroll in their advanced classes for all subjects. The school is simply amazing and they have classes for beginners up to the professional level... They also have classes and summer camps for kids and teens.... If your in Jersey or the NY area and your looking to get your start in film production... I would definitely recommend NJ Film School... It is truly a hidden gem!!!

Besides incorporating an open and positive working environment for students, he instills in them excellent interactive and business skills (some former students are working in film and television or are getting into the best film schools in higher education). He's helped changed how I produce and direct films, and due to the incredible energy of the school, I am now working on my first feature film. I recommend NJ Film School for film students of any age.

I was so incredibly lucky to find the Art Academy of Somerset County - the instruction is simply fabulous! Halley Murphy is a great instructor, and her teaching method allows her students to see their painting skills progress every week. The class atmosphere is calm and focused, and the quality of the artwork produced by her students is astounding. Both my wife and daughter have enrolled, and we all strongly endorse the Art Academy!

Meghan (the owner) is an artist who has been trained by the artist that owns The Art Academy in Hillsborough Township. Meghan's academy is actually a little over a year old and I couldn't find her yet on yelp, so I am putting my review here and hope that's ok. I am an oil painter, and came to The Art Academy in Chester through a referral to Chester school. I have a strong set of skills in oil painting, and have begun to sell my work. I came to Meghan because I wanted to strengthen my foundational skills in the realistic painting style. Meghan is absolutely the strongest and best teacher I have ever had. She has classes for children, adolescents and adults, at all levels. She is so talented in teaching the fundamentals of painting and it has most definitely strengthened my skills, just as I had wanted. She is a master at working with children and adolescents meeting the individual student at their current level, providing a strong education and support in a manner where I've seen children and adolescents blossom into really excellent oil painters. She focuses on teaching values, and color, which are two very important keystones in being able to paint well. She is an absolute gem. As an adult painter, I find her lessons to be critically important and I have seen a great change for the better in my work. If you are looking for an art school that is both wonderfully supportive and highly educational, this is THE place.

She really was a rude and nasty misandrist. The unspoken problem appeared to be our differences in politics even though we never discussed these. In fact I bent over backwards to avoid any contoversial subject. I was learning how to hand sew Revolutionary War reenacting garments and it is my opinion she resented this hobby. In addition, she would often make disparaging remarks to me in front of the class. I wrote a complaint letter to program director and never even received the courtesy of a response. Putting my interactions aside, the facility itself is completely run down. The bathrooms are disgusting, the hallways and offices have musty odors, there is no adequte air conditioning during the summer, the exterior grounds are a mess, and the building would likely fail a fire safety inspection. I have subsequently found several superior alternatives.

My friend enjoys hands on projects, while I really don't but wanted to do this for her. I have visited a different location a few years ago and thought I could tolerate another project, but honestly was blown away by how interested and happy I was to create my project. I think a lot of it had to do with the staff and the vibes of the place. We were able to bring food and drinks into this location which made the experience even better. Sushi, champagne, French pastries, and a hands-on project was perfect for a Friday night. Our end project was so cute and something we can actually use in our homes. Also, a great place to have a small birthday get together, bridal event or even do with a large group. There is parking in the back also. My only feedback would be that even though it is amazing that its BYOB maybe there should be a limit because there was a man who was drunk, and he was making us uncomfortable with the things he was saying and him trying to touch us. One of the staff members kept trying to divert him back to his project, but he always found a way back to us, or other people.
