She really was a rude and nasty misandrist. The unspoken problem appeared to be our differences in politics even though we never discussed these. In fact I bent over backwards to avoid any contoversial subject. I was learning how to hand sew Revolutionary War reenacting garments and it is my opinion she resented this hobby. In addition, she would often make disparaging remarks to me in front of the class. I wrote a complaint letter to program director and never even received the courtesy of a response. Putting my interactions aside, the facility itself is completely run down. The bathrooms are disgusting, the hallways and offices have musty odors, there is no adequte air conditioning during the summer, the exterior grounds are a mess, and the building would likely fail a fire safety inspection. I have subsequently found several superior alternatives.

The teacher was consistently late for class and never offered to extend her teaching time as compensation. In her defense, traffic this time of the evening can be difficult. However, if she is going to be consistently late then she should offer to hold the class a little later in the evening. I paid for a 90 minute class and barely got a 60 minute class. A good instructor should be not only on time, but early so that the class doesn't need to wait for her to get set up and begin. We will be looking to take art lessons elsewhere in the future.

Ok.. It's no secret, I'm not a spring chicken and I'm definitely going into my second phase of…read morelife... You know... children going off to college, more free time on my hands.... I worked in corporate America for 20 years and I decided one day I just had enough... So I took two years off and decided I would start fulfilling my real dreams and decided to start medical school... I know I'm crazy but I needed a change... Somewhere in the middle of killing myself in med school, I got the crazy idea to work on my second luv, so I enrolled in film school.... It's so crazy to be doing 2 things at one time, but I say, you only live once... The owner and director of NJ Film school is just heaven sent... Chris is just a full book of knowledge and I have the time of my life going to class every week... Currently, I'm just taking a starter course in film production, but I plan on staying to take classes in editing, screen writing and cinematography... Hopefully, if I continue to do well, I'll enroll in their advanced classes for all subjects. The school is simply amazing and they have classes for beginners up to the professional level... They also have classes and summer camps for kids and teens.... If your in Jersey or the NY area and your looking to get your start in film production... I would definitely recommend NJ Film School... Unfortunately, my later experience during classes in fall 2014 was more difficult. I attended NJ Film School in fall 2014 for Teen Filmmaking class, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I have learning disabilities, developmental delays, and communication difficulties. I needed patience, understanding, and additional support when communicating with instructors. During my time at the school, I had a difficult experience with Chris Messineo. I felt that he did not treat me with the patience, understanding, and respect I needed as a student. I wanted to participate in class, learn filmmaking, and enjoy the experience like everyone else. I felt hurt, discouraged, and unwelcome because of the way I experienced his treatment of me. I wish he had made more of an effort to understand my communication difficulties instead of making me feel that communicating with me was a problem. Years later, Chris emailed me and apologized in the mid 2020. He acknowledged that he had difficulty communicating with me and admitted that he should have worked harder at it. Although I appreciate his apology, it does not erase how upsetting my experience was back in 2014. Students with disabilities deserve equal respect, patience, understanding, and opportunities to participate. Nobody should feel unwelcome or discouraged from learning filmmaking because they need additional communication support. He should've thought about it before he decided to mistreat me so bad. I hope other students will have a more positive experience.

A great center that teaches kids all sorts of instruments, vocals, comics and acting. They also…read morehave music movement classes for the little ones starting at 6 months old.---similar I guess to Music Together. You can take a trial class but you have to pay for that session. Admin service is friendly and down to earth. There's a nice waiting area (a living room feel) where kids or adults can watch from a very large screen tv. Most of the time the TV is off and the parents are checking their phones or reading. There's also a library where you can sit and wait - a quiet area unlike the front waiting area. My daughter comes here for private piano lessons and for chorus and the instructors are keen to the children. I see tons of kids coming in to learn to play guitar and violin. There's a parking lot and it's usually packed but I somehow always get a spot so I guess there's ample parking (with help from parents just dropping off their kids and not really staying so that opens up parking spots).

Came here to see the showroom for Hunter Douglass window treatments…read more Not what I was expecting of a showroom, seemed underwhelming, but once I spoke with Suzette, I was able to go through the selections and options more thoroughly. Very friendly staff. While not everyone was able to help us with the HD window treatments specifically, they tried hard to answer our questions, and obviously felt bad that we were waiting around not being helped -- only because the Suzanne was occupied with another couple. Once we were helped, we got a price breakdown. There was definitely no upselling. She gave us affordable options, explained the different types of window treatments (the benefits of motorized ones to regular pull downs) and also price points of more expensive options. We left after making an appointment with the designer, who takes preliminary measurements and a more detailed price estimate. After that, Chris came for more exact measurements, then we waited until the product was made. Fast forward 8 weeks later (a large custom sized shade), Chris came back to install, and within 45 minutes of his arrival, it was all done -- we had our pull down black out shades. Very happy, blocks out a lot of light, and waking up in the morning is a lot less painful without the sun beaming straight into our eyes. Would recommend!

Margaret was so much more encouraging than my former instructor; she really gave me a much-needed boost of confidence to actually show my work. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. My only criticism is that the Farmstead instruction room is too well lighted, for my eyes. It's like shopping at the "new and improved" Bernardsville Shop-Rite. It feels like a night-time cop stop with a flashlight shinning in your face. I prefer a more muted experience.
