A few weeks ago I drove over a divider in a parking lot and ripped the rubber cowling underneath my front bumper. I asked several friends where I should go for repair, and both recommended Conte Auto Body. I met with Allie and he gave me options of..REPLACE parts big bucks, or REPAIR less bucks. I opted for repair and dropped off my car on Thursday morning, and got a call from Allie later in the day that the car was fixed. I asked Allie what did I owe him, and he said "Don't Worry". This is a review that I didn't think I would ever write, but I am happy I'm doing so because it's hard to find companies with good staff who make you feel comfortable with a tow. I unfortunately got into a car accident the other day on the Long Island Expressway. All parties were ok and thankfully no one was injured at all! I needed a tow and Conti was the closest to where the accident took place. The tow arrived super quickly. Richie, the tow operator, was super chill and made me even less anxious after a pretty scary situation. I had to wait for my husband for a bit to grab a lot of the baby's stuff out of the car (thankfully my son wasn't in the car at the time of the accident) and Richie was totally cool with waiting. He also explained very well the next steps with insurance and how to go about getting access to the car if needed. We are still in the process of getting everything situated with insurance, but I couldn't help but describe my tow situation. I've had awful experiences prior too, and what could have been just as bad was the exact opposite. read more

My car was hit while parked at my friends house. Conti had a towing service that was available right away within 30 minutes my car was towed to their shop (On a Sunday). They work conveniently with an enterprise, and I was able to get a rental the next day. My car took 4 weeks to get fixed and once I received my car back my car was in perfect condition. I can't help but say my car is driving better now than how it was before I was hit. I would highly recommend this shop. In addition to the great work they do on cars, their communication was quick and professional. I would never consider bringing my car to another shop if needing to do work on it. read more

My car was badly damaged in a 6-car accident at 10am on a Sunday. Although Conti was closed, Richie came quickly and towed mine and other cars involved. The next day, he and his colleagues couldn't have been more helpful as we waited for my insurance company's verdict. They even organized a rental car for us via Enterprise, and at the price my insurance company was willing to pay, even though the Enterprise website said there were no cars available. Sadly our car was judged to be totaled and the Conti staff were super accommodating as we came to their yard to empty it. No Stars!!! Everyone is Always So Nice and Helpful in the Beginning but Once They Get Your Business Their Service Goes Quickly Downhill... After Giving Me the Run Around and Constantly Lying to Me for 6 Weeks Telling Me that My Car Would be "Fixed" after a Freak Accident...They "Magically" Decided that it Would be Considered a Total... They Should have Told Me that Right Away and Saved Us All a Lot of Aggravation...I Had to Pay Two Weeks Out of Pocket for a Loaner Car after the Initial 30 Days (Insurance) were Up... While word of mouth says these guys do great work, their customer service leaves me thinking otherwise. In 2009 I went to them for a quote on repainting a rear bumper of a 2006 Honda Accord, very standard and common car with two dime sized indentations on the rear bumper from a rear end accident. The dime sized indentations were the other car's license plate holding bolts. Not a significant accident. Conti quoted me approximately $1200 to replace the bumper. A complete overkill repair and rip-off quote. For reference, a respray of an existing bumper with minimal repairs should be in the $400 range. A cheap queens/chinatown bumper respray will be in the $300 range. An expensive dealership respray will be in the $800 range. Due to great word of mouth reviews, several years later in 2013 I went back again with a 2008 BMW 5 series for a similar quote for a damaged rear bumper with light scuff marks due to an accident. I have some experience with body work (having painted 3 bumpers and 2 motorcycles in the span of 2 years using 2k primer, base coat and clear coat systems) but no longer have the time. I asked Lee (or Lea?) how he planned on tackling the repair in the same breath as suggesting that the rear bumper should come off. He handed back my paperwork mid-stride and told me to have a nice day. Conti doesn't need your business nor have the patience (or time) to deal with your preferences. Honestly, I didn't even have the change to tell them to charge me for the bumper removal, or that the job was being paid for by insurance anyway. For those who know a little bit about auto body, taking the parts off for paint ALWAYS guarantees a better job (fewer chances for runs in the clear/paint, good access and coverage, no chance for overspray aka. dusting of paint all over the rest of the car). They get 2 stars instead of 1 because maybe if you can put up with their customer service (or they can put up with you?) and you are willing to foot their astronomically high rip-off rate.... I HEAR their work is good. But really, why work so hard to give them your money? read more

Car was towed here because it was the closest body shop. I dealt with Oliver, great guy. I originally was going to have it towed to a local shop where I live, but decided I'd just leave it there... It was a 12 day fix once the insurance company approved everything.... They even fixed some damage from a previous fender bender at no extra cost! read more

Conti is the best! I've been going here for years! I just had a minor issue with my sideview mirror getting smashed. Lee was quick to look at it when I brought it in, ordered the part right away (told me the cost and asked if I wanted to proceed), and they were quick to install it once it came in!! There were no surprise extra/added costs. They are wonderful when it comes to the little touches. For example, they fixed a scuff on the back of the mirror without my having to ask. They have in the past, fixed up other little dings and dents when I went in for other things. And their work is top quality. I always walk out of there feeling good about things, that I was treated more than fairly, and I can completely depend on them, especially when dealing with stressful car issues.
