We chose to have a "Before They Say I Do BBQ" and the deck provided a nice space to set up stations for our caterer.The list of vendors provided by Empire Eats made providing linens and any items needed easy to set up. The only suggestions we would offer is know in advance that this is the top floor of The Stockroom. If there are 2 events scheduled, you'll be sharing the only elevator with the other venue. Loading and unloading prior and after the event can be a bit tricky. There is no designated area loading zone. Be sure to ask in advance for a cart and it will be provided.Also, if you're having a summer event, know that it can be very hot. When the door to the deck is open, it compromises the A/C and it can be a tad bit warm.

The lighting is low and warm making the space cozy, the bathroom are very accessible and clean and even though weather wasn't on our side, you also have access to an awesome little rooftop overlooking downtown Wendell. The concept great, until you had to go down several flights of stairs to get back to the restrooms. The restaurant was cold and drafty. We were freezing the entire time. The food was served family style (because of the conference I think). The meat was too salty. The rest of the food was unspectacular and lacking a pizzazz. We had a lemon tart for dessert, the shell was so hard all you could do was scoop out the tart lemon custard. Needless to say, my co-worker and I booked it out of there as fast as we could.

I love that crazy woman...) we had an amazing experience. The biggest reason we booked this venue is that the place is gorgeous. Amazing picture taking venue. You want water in the background? There's a pond out back. Trees? There's a little tree farm next door. Bushes/bench? Right there. Stairs for a group shot? Out front. A gorgeous house in the background? A staircase? Fireplace? All available for photos. The main room where we held the ceremony wasn't too big. It could probably hold in ~100 people comfortably (we only had ~15). However, it is laid out such that there is glass on three sides of the room, giving you great natural light and some beautiful background. They also have a full kitchen there for party purposes and a sound system you can plug into for music. Martha (who runs the place) was really accommodating helpful. She gave us the WiFi password so we could Skype in family for the wedding. She had no problem letting us have our dog as our ring bearer. And when we got there, the chairs were already set up. I happened to be in the area one afternoon near The Portal and decided to stop in. I have to be honest because if I don't share my initial impression, the ending is not worth continuing to read this. Shock was my first impression. Even though I could hear WHAT Caleb had said in our recent phone conversation-my eyes were NOT seeing & my mind was certainly NOT believing. I thought how is he ever gonna pull off a single thing he told me?! Fast forward a week later & Caleb & I met onsite. Through his careful & calm demeanor handling of a mom about to marry off her youngest son, diagrams of what this space COULD BE and his reitteration of all he had told me a week prior, my nerves settled and I knew everything would be fine. Fast forward to December 11, 2025...my husband & I dropped off the food late afternoon. Already I could see Caleb's vision coming to life. When we returned for the celebration mere hours later, my heart stopped. The space I first saw 2 weeks prior, was beyond breathtaking. I held back my tears of joy, but when you think about "going above & beyond"...Caleb brought it & I was living it. Not only did everyone rave about the splendor of the evening...people were still going on & on at the wedding. Unbeknownst to me...Caleb & us thought he would be keeping food warm...nope..we brought cold food, but Caleb handled it replating AND heating in a space with no commercial kitchen..this is just another point about the kind of person Caleb is. She took care of everything from connecting us with fantastic vendors, to designing the invitations, to setting up all of the decorations, and we are extremely happy with how everything turned out.
