I had some questions about booking time and our service dog and he personally called me, recommended the perfect start time and said he would love our dog to join us, he gets hospitality and customer service. We arrived at the starting point and were greeted by our host, Jeffrey. He is one of the nicest guys you can ever meet. He loaded us all in the luxury Mercedes van, stocked with waters/treats, and off we went. The tour is 5 hours, with a lunch stop at the famous Farmers Market. Time flies though! You'll go through the Hills for breathtaking views, visit Hollywood sign, get the tourist Hollywood experience (Chinese Theatre/Dolby Theatre/Walk of Fame), see movie studios, celebrity past/present homes, Rodeo Drive, and much more. The entire tour our guide, Jeff told us facts and stories about the different areas we visited. His knowledge and stories were worth the price of admission. This was the ultimate LA in a day tour. Highly recommend. Private tours are the way to go and this is the one you want.

Mojo Maps Expedition - Venice Land Tour - spray painting at the Venice Art Walls

A few weekends ago, I had the pleasure of taking Mojo Maps Expedition Co.'s interactive walking tour of Venice Beach. Two knowledgable and talented tour guides took us on an adventure through Venice Beach's historical landscape -- through Muscle Beach, the Dogtown skaters, and the Beat Poets, all the way back to the neighborhood's birth era of Abbot Kinney and his "Venice of America". I was impressed by founder Chris Eng's passion for Los Angeles and his desire to provide Angelenos with an immersive adventure and the opportunity to step out of their comfort zone, right in their own city. (LA's newcomers and tourists are welcome to join in the fun too, of course!) Chris and his crew are invested in creating an evocative, visceral experience for people that goes far beyond historical dates and events. During the Venice Land tour, we walked leisurely for about 2.5 hours as the tour guides regaled us with stories from every period in Venice Beach's history through comedy, music, and improvisation. Participants were constantly engaged through activities like spray painting (yay for public defacement!), sing-alongs, and an even impromptu "bathing beauty" pageant as a shout-out to Venice Beach of the Roaring 20s. It might be a tour more suitable for extroverts but this semi-introvert was thoroughly entertained. If you have kids, I would say the tour would be great for 10-year-olds and older. There's nothing overtly racy or inappropriate -- I just think the tour would be better appreciated by slightly older kiddos.

The tour immediately starts off with a song, dance and music which sets the tone for the rest of the day. Kristen and Kimberly were great! They are true performers. Their quirky voices and superb acting combined with a live harmonica player, quickly transforms you back to historic 1920's Venice. As we walked through out the various parts of Venice (canals, muscle beach, and boardwalk) the tour guides pointed out murals, statues, and hidden artifacts that I've seen a dozen times but never gave much thought to, but now know the entire history behind each item. What really set this tour apart from other walking tours I've done before are the group improv games played to bring to life some of the history. Normally I'm a pretty shy person but Kristen did a great job encouraging everyone to participate where there are no right answers! From performing our own impromptu 1920 Beauty Contest to becoming Arnold Schwarzenegger's product development team.... I don't think I have ever laughed so much! This was a great experience and I would highly recommend the tour to anyone looking for a fun afternoon in Venice!

4.5/5 stars! A very unique escape room experience!…read more A group of 6 of us took on the room The Lab Rat. The theming is really great fun! Super unique and some of the special effects are fantastic! I've done a handful of escape rooms across LA and Orange County and this is definitely a memorable one. It is a wee bit pricey and I would say there are a few things that I think could be improved in my personal opinion! In general, I thought a few of the puzzles were not the most intuitive/logical. This room is definitely made for you to escape so you can get the full experience, so the game masters definitely assist when you get stuck. It feels like some of the puzzles were made for the players to get assistance rather than solve on their own. The priority is definitely to get you to end! Which some people may love and some may not. But to each their own! Also, the room is a bit tight (but it goes with the theme). It makes it difficult to work on the same puzzles at the same time and although there are definitely things to multitask on, I feel that the room was generally a bit linear as in one puzzle tends to be in play which leads you to the next puzzle. Once most puzzles are solved, it felt like only 2-3 people were working on a puzzle while the rest of us were kinda standing around. It was also a bit hot in there so some better AC would be totally welcome. Overall, what a fun and unique room! I'd say if you get a chance to try out Lab Rat, you totally should! I'd love to come back and try The Ladder

The immersion is incredible, we truly felt like we were climbing the corporate ladder! It's very high tech and allows you to make different choices including characters, costumes, and what choices to make which affects your gameplay! The games are very fun and can be done multiple times by multiple people without feeling boring. The puzzles are pretty difficult, we want to play again and spend most of our time on those! The gamemasters and janitors are incredibly helpful and in character. Highly recommend all of the rooms including Lab Rats, The Nest, and The Ladder at Hatch Escape and can't wait to play The Ladder again.
