Tino was great. My usual Barber had some personal challenges and as much as I sympathize with that, I needed my hair cut. Barbering space is located in a building that supports many different stylists. Tino's space is actually large enough to accommodate one client at a time. I was nervous about taking this baby to get a hair cut because it seemed that he hadn't have on before at a barber shop. Plus this baby had been through some things. Booking the appointment was easy and set the tone that this was a barber that cared. I received a confirmation at every step of the process, even with me making a an error sending my deposit. We made it to the shop and were greeted with amazing customer service. As expected my baby cried as soon as he sat down. Ok...I went to Tino yesterday for the first time and let me tell you, certain things stuck out: (1) the variety by which he uses is really strong, (2) speed of which he could operate is mind-blowing, (3) PROMPTNESS!!!!! A lot of barbers show up late, have excuses, rude. He was NONE of those things and he was on time! I didn't have much faith in barbers after the heinous and horrendous treatment from A'Unique in Anaheim, but Tino got me in and out AND he actually made me look at least 10-15 years younger! I have already booked him again because he gets booked quickly. So far, he's the best barber, black or white, in Long Beach. The icing on the cake is when Tino showed me how to operate Booksby. I was fortunate to find Tino when I first moved to Long Beach. He wasn't in his own shop then but the quality of his cuts were just as high! I've been to several other barbers in Long Beach and Tino is the best! He has a passion for cutting hair and it shows in how he takes his time with each customer. His prices are reasonable and there's discounts for certain groups posted on his pricing list in the shop. He's now in his own place on 7th Street and I'm glad about it. It is a bright welcoming space that was a labor of love for Tino. I was impressed with the cleanliness and space in the shop. You won't find a better or nicer barber in Long Beach. Have you ever had that one haircut that reinvented your standards for a barbershop? I just moved down here from Santa Barbara, and have been looking for a new barbershop for a minute. After striking out in neighboring shops (I couldn't find anyone that could do a decent taper, lol.), I decided to come to Tino due to his flawless Yelp record. My experience there was a testament to just that. First of all, I came as a walk in on a day he was fully booked in the morning and he was still able to accommodate. At any usual barbershops in the past, I would've gotten the boot and been told to book an appointment--which was at least two weeks in advance, or sit and wait for upwards of an hour and a half. Secondly, Tino gave me one of the cleanest cuts i've ever received. I'm used to getting a straight razor line up to finish things off, but I didn't need it this time around. First timer and my line up and fade came out really nice. Atmosphere is great and it's inviting and not intimidating like some barber shops. I would recommend for the shop to invest in a square reader or some sort of electronic payment but that is not a big deal to knock off a star. Overall I am satisfied with my cut. read more
