1st off 911 Fades responds very quickly to your messages and calls. Although they accept walk-ins, I appreciate it. They can make a firm appointment. I had an interview and I need a haircut really fast. I'll call 911 Fades at 7:30 AM, and Rich answer the phone and setup my appointment. Rich did a small interview with me to see what I like and then that was it. He took it from there. The cut was kold! But the shave and hot towel killed the game for me. I left 911 feeling and looking good. I thankful to Rich for getting in at the last moment and for really taking the time to understand what I wanted. The shave and hot towel was an unexpected treat. I am sure all of the barbers at 911 can cut, but I recommend RICH. Last chair to the right. read more

So glad my roommate recommended this spot. Monk is my barber now! Great customer service, exquisite atmosphere and he got me right! This was my 3rd attempt finding a barber in Long Beach. So glad I found this place and it's a black barbershop too! read more

Because I met a client of theirs at a restaurant with a fresh haircut and I'm not on set today; I decided on Monday to take the 45 minute drive on down to Long Beach to try them out. Now I also checked their yelp page which say's "open till 7pm" before I left. Well....here I am; 12:14 pm standing outside the locked door that says, "we are open Tues. Through Saturday. It REALLY would have been nice for the owner to put that on their business page. Super disappointed. I also decided to phone them while in route realizing that a lot of times barbers can't pick up while their cutting. The number just rings and rings. Nobody even thought to leave a courtesy voice message for clients calling in?? Something with...days/hours of operation?? #wasteoftime read more

However, I no longer seek their services for my son and myself, since one of the barbers, no name recalled but he had braids w/ a beard, took pictures of my son without obtaining consent. I came here in a pinch and I think it was Stephen who helped me. I had to wait for a couple people ahead of me, but I appreciated him accommodating me late on a Sunday. The cut came out great and was done faster than I expected. I got my money's worth for sure and will come here again. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Hours need to be updated . First as we're walking in the barber there is giving us a very unpleasant look that was problem #1. Number 2 he didn't greet us with any customer service , on the contrary went on to nod his head and say I'm closed even though time shows closing at 7pm . I wasn't going in there for a free cut I would've been a paying customer and probably would've come back we're new to the area and in need of a barber for my son. read more

Finding a reliable barber is one of the hardest things to do, but this shop is great and checks all the boxes. Wow some of these reviews man. LOL Ya'll really be bitter over overpaying for coming late or calling and not making an appointment. 1. Would you expect your boss to pay you overtime if he had asked you to stay late? Yes you would. So why is that any different that getting charged a bit more for coming right before they close. These barbers all have lives outside of the shop, and stand on their feet all day. The last thing they want to do is stay longer after a hot ass day. 2. I don't understand how people get upset that they can't attend to you if you're a walk in. I've been bringing my brother here for more than 2 years and we make appointments. These guys are all busy and have their clientele. Some of them have back to back appointments and can't attend walk ins. They do there best but be responsible and make an appointment before coming on here crying about petty issues. I still hold 100% true to my reviews. Mikey continues to be one of the best barbers in the shop. True to his craft and always humble. We will follow Mikey to the ends of the earth for a cut. Keep doing what your doing bro! read more

Do not go here. I went here and I asked the guy in the chair back right (don't know his name, it was my first time) to cut a "little off the top" and clean up the sides and he basically gave me a buzz cut when I never asked for that. Very unprofessional would not recommend coming here go somewhere else don't waste your money. Seriously!!! read more

This place is great! It has a much more newer barber shop feel. The barbers are all very cool and have their own unique style and expertise. I come here every 6 weeks to get my haircut and beard trimmed. Overall very cool. They have TV's with sports on at all times. They talk about sports constantly which is cool to sit in and listen to. The Barbers can be reached at independently and can give you an appointment or fit your schedule if you need to. Check it out! They are awesome! read more

Now this is the kind of barbershop I'm use to back home in Memphis and Chicago. I recently moved here from Memphis and needed a barber in the worst way. I looked up shops close to my home and came across this one. As soon as I walked in, classic barbershop convo was going on. Aaron was my barber and he is the man. Real cool guy and is a very skilled barber for sure. I highly recommend him not only for how good he is with the clippers but he's also a pretty cool down to earth guy with good conversation. There are two things that I cannot switch back and forth with, and that is my church and my barber. Since moving to Long Beach from San Diego in 2007, I feared not being able to find a barber that could accommodate my style and creativity with my hair, but I was referred to 911 Fades and told that they would get the job done. When I walked into the building, I asked that dreadful first time customer question, "how many you got?" Aaron LeFlore was the first to respond and took me as his next client. I explained to him what I wanted and he exceeded my expectations tenfold! From that day on I have been rocking with Aaron. Not only is he a dope barber, but he has become a great friend. So I've been coming to this barbershop for a couple of years now and I can say that its my favorite shop. They are friendly and real cool to talk to. They take their time in cutting hair which is a plus because you dont want someone rushing and not do a good job. Place is nice. Close to where I live. Did a great job on my hair. Only thing I don't like sometimes is how barbers get sidetrack with getting to your hair. It's always hard to find a good barber, particularly Sunday's when everyone closes early. I was especially glad when I found 911 Fades on Yelp. Primarily because they are open until 7 pm. What a great spot! Amazing prices and the employees are a great bunch of friendly hard working guys and you can tell they love what they do. If you want a quick in and out trim this isn't the place for you because these men are perfectionists. Even though I adore my sons hair long, it was enjoyable to watch Stevo cut his thick curly unruly mop. The end result had my boy beaming and he asked me why I had never taken him to a barber before.
