Every time we come in here, everyone walks away with something they can't live without. Today I found a fitted, leather jacket originally from Nordstrom with a vintage look to it for only $26.00, a leopard print sweater from Classiques Entier for $11.00. I almost caved in and bought a Prada purse for $26.00. These are the types of deals that you can find here. There is also a sale rack with everything on it for $4.00 and the other side everything for $9.00. Because it was Super Bowl Sunday, the owners welcomed everyone at the door with a cash giveaway and h'ordeuvres inside. The place was hopping. The three spacious fitting rooms were constantly in use. They thought ahead and had plenty of staff on hand to direct traffic back there and to keep the lines moving at the register. In all, it was another positive shopping experience that keeps me coming back to this gem of a shop. It's well worth the trip to Lake Oswego and then go and have lunch next door at Curry in a Hurry. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. I have walked in twice or three times and each time have been greeted buy an extremely rude, stuck up, elderly woman. They explained the consignment process to me like I was a toddler when I was so kind and patient. So offensive and degrading. Objectively, this place has a great selection. However, it is horrific to work with. They have a unique ability to make you feel unwelcome and leave feeling that you are a horrible person because you have failed to follow their very inflexible rules. Even when there was no person in the shop, they somehow cannot find time to help you. I stood listening to a woman on the phone for 10 minutes with a customer. Asking them for any help seems to be a great inconvenience to them. I have never worked with a pleasant person here, and I have given up on doing business with them. Do not shop here. This store does not support women. They are notorious at their own bank (Bank of America in Lake Oswego) for deliberately writing bad checks to the women who consign with them. She was walking up to customers and speaking to them. Disrespectful and reckless making a choice that impacts the health and wellness of others. Great space big enough to move around in and plenty of inventory to go through! They've got many big name brands with decent enough price tags to boot!! I had a bad experience consigning here. Once my consignment period was over I called to give them a 24 hour notice that I would be coming in to collect my unsold items so that they would have time to prepare them. I picked up the bag they had waiting for me, took it home and found there were about 10 items missing that were not accounted for either through sales or through being returned to me. I called the store about 20 minutes before close that day, but no one answered the phone. When I later went into the store with a list of the missing items, the woman working said that she hadn't been able to find all of my items before leaving for the day and had left a note for the other staff to look for the items and they seemingly ignored it. she was gracious enough to suggest that I look through the racks myself to see if I could find my items. I spent almost an hour, without any assistance from her, and eventually found all but one of my items. I found the entire experience disorganized and unprofessional. I will never consign here again. read more

Not for me. For starters, this place is for the older woman. Not that that's a problem, I'm on my way to being one myself. And I found a couple of things to try! The price tags threw me for a loop. It's not as simple as, 'Here's the price! If it's marked, it's reduced!' There were 3 prices and three dates, and you figure out which one you qualify for, based on the date. I'm doing good to remember to put the trash out on Tuesday... Wednesday? An extra step in cost figuring is not something I'm keen on, as I view shopping as a relaxing, spacey activity. Also not impressed with the customer service. I don't expect much, but a simple acknowledgement of the fact that I'm in the store (and the only customer in the store) with money to spend should count for SOMEthing. Apparently not. The two women behind the counter were very busy with talking about how busy they were, and how so-and-so was no longer welcome in the store. I looked at every rack in the store while eavesdropping, which ended up being the only fun part, then put my items back where they belonged and left. read more

Oh my gosh! I've heard about Consigning Women for a while now and just never make it over to Lake Oswego, but while house hunting this last weekend I found myself right in front of their store and just HAD to pop in and check it out...MAJOR TROUBLE! It's HUGE! And they have EVERYTHING a girl could want in every price range! It was that kid-in-a-candy-store kind of experience for me; I couldn't focus on anything, there were so many awesome things to look at! I took a purse in and left it on consignment. It sold. I had to pick up the check because they don't mail them. After depositing the check, I got it returned for "Insufficient Funds," and got a $25 returned check fee. I had to make several phone calls about getting another check written, and they said they would cover the $25 returned check fee. I kept waiting. On another call, the lady in the Pearl said the owner was away, but I phoned the L.O. store and she was there. I was told I would get a check the next week on the day they wrote out the checks. I didn't get it week after week, despite several phone calls. When I finally got the check, they only covered 1/2 of the returned check charge. Unethical at best. What a way to run a business. For purchasing things, I think it is fine - but it sounds like others have issues with customer service as well. If you just want to buy something, go for it. read more

I was a regular there since they first opened the LO store but stopped going there a few years ago,for the following reasons: 1-As other people mentioned their customer service was not so good.Mostly two of the older employees who were always there were cold and snobby. 2-Sandy,the old woman who worked there accused me of stealing twice.Followed me out of the store and asked me why there was an extra hanger left in the fitting room.Since I was a regular I didn't want to leave a mess after trying out a bunch of clothes ,so I tried to clean up after myself.I accidentally hung a two piece set on one single hanger.Both times I went back in and found the two piece sets that originally were hanging on two hangers, and showed them to her.She never apologized or had the decency to thank me for clarifying.Later when I brought it to the owner's attention she backed the clerk's up. I never set a foot there after that.I take my business somewhere where I'm treated with respect. I go to many other consignment stores,such as Spanky's in Beaverton or New to You in LO where their sweet clerks welcome you with a smile and treat you with respect each and every time,even if you spend 50 cents there.(And they do have sales when even NWT items are $2 or less ) They lost me and my friends and family's business. read more

I went in today and was not even greeted or given eye contact by the employee who I believe was actually an owner. After asking if the store had a certain brand of handbag, I was given a rude and short response so I left. And guess what- no "Have a nice day" or "Thanks for stopping in". Most of the clothes, especially the shoes, looked worn/scuffedand more fitting for the older generations. Don't go if you're under 60. Do go if you need a worn maroon Chico's blazer and a matching Baggallini. I will not be going back. read more

I consigned a handbag at the store in The Pearl and was excited that it sold very quickly. Within a week. However, that was in November, 2013. It is now the last day of January, 2014 and I have yet to be paid. I have been told that checks cut on the 10th of the month, so I should have had a check mid December. I have called three times, I have stopped in and spoken to the woman in attendance and I have sent a letter with another stamped, self addressed envelope. The amount is about $ 30.00, so not a huge amount of money, but they do seem disorganized. If today's mail doesn't bring a check, I will call again. I have used several consignment shops in town, for clothes and household items, and have never experienced this amount of disorganization. Update - Feb 2nd....................I am happy to report that I finally received my check on Feb 1st. Muriel, the manager at The Pearl location, was very helpful. She followed through with her promises to call/text me back with updates. read more

Sadly, I have to give them a new review. I have continued to stop by their business many times since my initial review and have found that their prices have slowly raised to the point of being somewhat absurd. Last time I went, nearly all of the things I looked at were near $30 or more (I'm talking about cotton shirts from LOFT, J Crew, Banana, etc). These are USED clothes! I refuse to pay more for something used than what I can get it for on clearance new. That is just crazy. The main woman at the store treated us rudely and was judgmental the moment we walked into the store. She treated us with disrespect and assumed we had no quality clothes to sell. Terrible consigning experience!! Here is the post I made on Facebook: "I came by the shop this morning to pick up my items that had not sold. When I called a couple days ago to inquire about the status, I was told that only one of my purses had sold. I expressed that I was disappointed and probably wouldn't be trying consignment again. I was in no way upset, and understand it just is what it is. When I came in this morning, as the employee was getting my payment together, I noticed a post-it note on my paperwork. It stated, in essence, "Upset about purse and won't be consigning again." It then describe the purse that had sold, and said, "CHEAP purse - customer thought it was nice!" 1) How incredibly unprofessional, catty, and rude. Your customers are your bread & butter - act like it. 2) I know the difference between a cheap bag and a nice bag. While I was not designer, it was leather and well-made - certainly not anything from a "fast-fashion" retailer. Obviously, you've lost a customer. An apology from the owner would be nice." They responded with: " Hi Cara, I understand Stephanie has gotten in touch with you about this situation. Seems there was a misunderstanding about the note. Hopefully you feel some resolution from your conversation with her. Thanks for letting us know about your experience!" I then realized when I got home that they had not returned 3 designer shoe boxes that I had brought in with my items. I was told they would look for them, but they normally display the shoe boxes with designer shoes, so I must not have brought them in (!!!!!). ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I was told they would look for them and get back to me. I just received a call that they couldn't find them, and the owner would offer me a $50 gift card instead. Again, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? My response on FB: "No, there wasn't really a resolution - just Stephanie trying to explain how the note wasn't really as catty as it came across. The icing on the cake, however, is that you got rid of my designer shoe boxes (Prada, Stuart Weitzman, and Moschino), not only destroying my property, but de-valuing my goods as you can't really sell designer shoes for what they're worth without the boxes. Offering my a $50 store credit to your store for destroying my property is ridiculous and laughable. Hopefully Stephanie will make this right." The shopping there is fine, good bargains nice clothes, etc. My beef is with the women who work there. I have consigned clothes with them in the past, and my experience has been the same. The last straw was my most recent (and last!) trip there to drop off some clothes for consignment. They failed to recognize high end brands (like a dress I paid over $300 for originally) and I even heard them whispering among each other that one high end brand was sold at Sears (and that's why they were refusing it), which I know is untrue. It is just irritating as their job is technically in the fashion industry and it seems they are oblivious to certain designers and other expensive names. P.S. I later sold that same dress on Craigslist for $100. read more

They have a whole rack of Chico's which I love...it is big enough to have good inventory for a consignment shop, but small enough to feel boutique-ish.....got a pair of Lucky jeans for $13. Love shopping here! Went in last weekend and found a ton of great options to spruce up my spring wardrobe. The selection is really outstanding. The thing that I think really sets this store apart from other consignment shops is the quality of the clothing and designer brands. Rarely does anything look like it has any wear. The selection is far greater than what you'll find in typical stores because the pieces were originally purchased -- all over! I've found the service to be friendly and have been greeted every time within minutes of arrival. I'll be back soon! read more

As someone who has sold a few times I have not had the best customer service. They gave me a shirt back in a bag and when I looked at it closely when I got home there were deodorant stains all over and it was very wrinkled. It was dry clean only fabric and I asked if there was anything they could do about cleaning it because I gave it to them perfectly ironed and clean. They were very snooty and unhelpful about the whole thing. read more

I love shopping here, and have found some super cute clothes here before. However, consigning with them is usually unpleasant and awkward. I am professional, polished, and value having nice clothes, yet when I bring my stuff here I always feel scrutinized and judged. This is a follow up on my previous review. The owner's reply make it sound as if I had received payment for the missing sale. The payment I received was for another consignment--not the missing one. The owner ask me to go private which I did to no avail. Once again it took my threat of returning to my previous review before I managed to get her attention. I have now received payment. The envelope was returned to her store by the PO on January 20. 10 days after the failed delivery. It took them over a month to inform me that the check was back at their store. If you consign her be sure you have pictures and an inventory of your items. Always plan to pick up your check at their store! I will not be consigning with either of their stores again. read more

My rating would be five-star but there is a clerk who works there who is so rude and has such 'attitude' that I actually cannot tolerate being around her. It is annoying to have to call ahead to make sure Geri is not working every time I want to come in to shop or bring in items to consign. Other than this woman, the staff is just great and I've made some decent fun money consigning items I no longer want. I have also made some great finds there, my favorite being a nearly new pair of Stuart Weitzman leopard flats for about $40. This shop is a local treasure. My daughter and I consigned some items, and when we returned to pick up our check and unsold items, we were told that they would be ready "later, we got really busy, stop back again" To add insult to injury, when my daughter stopped back she was told that she had gone past the 60day limit for collecting her money and would get nothing.
