He went over the associated problems and possible solutions, with an emphasis on safety issues. He sent 3 people, Carlos, Brandon and Martin, and they cleaned out the chimney and replaced the fireproof gasket rope around the doors. Carlos was the lead tech and had all the fancy certifications. We chatted a bit about my options if/when I decide to replace the fireplace in a few years. The fireplace smells so good now when it burns. The wood must be burning cleaner, and they showed me some features I had no idea existed - there is a catalytic converter in the fireplace when I shut the doors. I couldn't get the blower fan working the next day, and Martin came back out and took a look, but it just needed more heat to flip the switch. I'd use these guys again in a heart beat.
