After several previous good experiences at this station we visited again last week. This time it was to use their car wash. We'd filled up nearby and had a mishap with a faulty gasoline hose. That resulted in gas being spilled on the exterior of the car and a very unpleasant gas vapor smell inside. We went over to Conserv Fuel. Dear Hubby went inside and bought the simple wash code. Then we got in line. There were only two cars in front of us and we wondered why it was taking so long. We learned that unlike conveyor-belt style washes, this one is quite different. There isn't a track to follow, so an attendant isn't needed. Instead, you are prompted by lighted signs and an eerie exterior loudspeaker when to drive into the wash tunnel. Then the washing machinery moves back and forth over your vehicle multiple times. There is a pass for the wash cycle, then the rinsing, and then you slowly creep forward to take full advantage of the drying phase. DH chose the touchless version, but you can also have "light touch". The touchless didn't clean the exterior as thoroughly as one might have liked, but it did get the gasoline off the paint, and the overall washing experience cleared away the bulk of the smell. I would say that the cycle time is significantly longer than the kind of wash we are used to at other stations. It helped us solve the problem of the moment, and that's a good result. read more

This gas station is a good low cost option along with a Marketplace that offers a good variety of items from food to miscellaneous items. You'll find the standard convenience store selection along with prepared foods. The service was quick and easy to navigate through the lanes to find what I was looking for. E85 is available on hwy 1 this is probably the only place to get ethanol fuel must stop for you high performance ethanol breathing ‍ cars

This gas station isn't the most useful to me because it's very unlikely I'll need gas in Santa Maria on my way from San Francisco to L.A. I have stopped here on the way from L.A. to San Francisco, but that was because I had left without a full tank of gas, which is something that almost never happens in that direction these days. It is a nice station, and it's very convenient to the 101. I don't know how reasonable the prices are now, but when I've used it before, it was on the lower end of average. The place is hopping, so if you're going to stop to use the restroom or buy something from the store, park your car in a spot rather than leaving it in front of a pump. The men's bathroom feels very spa-ish, with its luxe basin sink and faux-marble tile. It's usually pretty clean as well, although the toilet-stall lock was broken a couple of times years back. The street name, Betteravia Road, is so weird. But it's also memorable, so if you do need gas and you're in Santa Maria, you won't forget what exit to use. Don't tell them I sent you. read more

I have never been to the cleanest, newest, friendly and extremely nice convenience gas/mart store such as this anywhere in California. Their bathrooms are pristine, service is quick and entire store is well laid out and well staffed. Must stop for best of the best. Clean and impressive service. One of the best! read more

Regret coming here for a car wash. Desperate to do a quick wash for my car because splash n dash was closed. Worst fucking decision. You have customers that don't have a code. Parking their car and walking back to the register to pay for a code. I should not have to wait 30 mins to get a "express" car wash! Worse decision I made. This is one busy gas station with a car wash and several vacuum stations. We had to use the restroom and most gas stations are gross when it comes nature calls. The restroom was very clean and spacious inside plus the store was very well organized. read more

Gas pumps has a skimmer! Do not use your cards here! Mine was stolen twice and the thief is still trying to use my card while locked in Las Vegas. It's also a possibility that the gas station workers are part if the scam because it's not a coincidence that two different credit cards were used. Their car wash is excellent. They paid lots of money for the latest technology which really clean your wheels, shine your tires, and coats your paint-job with a wax and rain-x. Of course, those extra goodies are in the Ultimate Car Wash for $10 a pop or you can get a monthly pass. If you get the Ultimate monthly pass for $30 per month, you could wash your car here twice per day and get a nifty car freshener each time you come (ask to keep it in the package for later use). They have work to do with the car wash. Slowest in town. 4 cars in line and it's been 15 min already, line isn't moving. Car wash down the road is a lot quicker and they hand dry at the end. My truck is generally a tribute to the fields of Lompoc, carrying all the dust and dirt from the tilling and wind. I decided to get a carwash to have a presentable looking vehicle and reduce my embarrassment. I came to the carwash, paid for the good one, went through, then off to costco. I came out to find that there was still dust on some areas and splattered bugs all over the front. I called to the station who told me to come back and tell the guy. "Hi, I was here at 1 and I drove to costco. I saw that my car still had bugs on the front and dust in back when I came out to load my car up" "At 1? (turns over receipt ) Ok." "I'd like to go back through again to get it clean" "You don't think the bugs were from driving? " "I drove across the street. You know. Costco? I have the stuff in the back. " This exchange continued on until finally he rolled his eyes and let me go back through with a half assed spray from his preparatory rinse. The truck still looks like an insect magnet. Had employee named Brain run up on my husband like he was going to fight him calling him a son of a bitch over dumping out a half cup of soda in the parking lot. And then tell us how he is tired of "people" like us. What paying customers. We spend hundreds of dollars in that store weekly. But will not spend another dime in there. Brain needs to be fired he didn't think he was in the wrong at all talking to a customer like that and calling them a son of a bitch. Staff (manager...?) refused to acknowledge me as I stood at her register for several minutes trying to get her attention while she chatted with the other register attendant. Finally another staff person came forward to help me, when I turned to leave there was a line of people behind me also waiting to pay. I believe this refusal to provide sevice may have been racially motivated as the Woman, a heavy set mexican american, seemed to not want to help since I was white. Most of the Card readers at the pumps do not work which forces everyone to go into the registers to pay. All in all, a very poorly managed business read more

This gas station has the worst customer service! I have dealt with the cashier Susie on numerous occasions. She is rude, unfriendly acts like she is busy reading some piece of paper then to hear what you asked to purchase. Maybe she is just an unhappy overweight idiot or she is racist because I'm not Mexican like her. I don't understand why you have people like this working in your establishment. This place is just too damn busy almost Everytime I go here. There are arrows denoting which way to pull into the pumps but nobody observes them. And with a location with as much traffic as this one has, that's a very big deal. I've driven off without gas multiple times. The car wash is actually pretty good though. Unhappy that they charge extra for Debit Cards on gasoline purchases, but they do have a sticker on the pump that says: "Debit Price Same as Credit", so I guess it's okay. I went ahead and paid with cash; the cash discount is about 6%. Prices are okay, but they started raising they price now that they're established. Restrooms are modern and clean. Sunday night I went to go wash my car, and left home right after. The next morning I noticed there was a scratch on the front bumper, and I went back in to talk to the manager. I asked if there was any way they can check the surveillance camaras to check if the car had gotten scratched during the Carwash. They said they would check and would give me a call as soon as they checked the camaras. I didnt receive a call back so I decided to go in again. Then a woman, Ms Elizabeth helped me with my problem and she was very helpful, she told me to call the next morning at 10 so I did, and the manager answered but he said they had checked and there was nothing they can do. I avoid this place before 9pm cuz it is a crazy mess of a zoo of vehicles and people otherwise. After 9pm, it can still be a freak show of sorts, like the homeless musicians who like to jam at the picnic tables. SMPD patrols like to chill in this lot sometimes, which makes me feel safer as I am always alone. Total shout out to the graveyard shift cashier Oscar, he is wasting his talent at a convienent store. He is always upbeat and personable, and always waits to turn on the gas pump for me when I run in and pay and use the restroom before I go pump my gas.
