I came to Vons gas for the great prices and I got absolutely horrible customer service and rude behavior from the clerk I believe her name was Wendy. She gave me the wrong amount on gas and then her co worker corrected it. She proceeded to say it was my fault and if the other employee Corey didn't step in I would never have received my refund for her mistake. She has been rude many times. I will no longer be going to this station. This employee is clearly on drugs or is mentally unstable. read more

This gas station is conveniently located off the 101 freeway. They always seem to have the cheapest gas in town. The convenient store is stalked with munchies and drinks, its clean. The customer service is hit and miss maybe a greeting and Thank you would make a friendlier welcome. read more

You're heading up the coast, cautiously concerned if your gas will get you far enough. My Costco and Sam's Club memberships do me no good until you are significantly further south in Camarillo. They lack gas stations. So, yep, San Luis Obispo is ahead, I know I can make it. But then again, the minute you get near to SLO, the gas prices go ominously up. Sticker shock for gas in SLO is inevitable. Not fair. So I discovered a great alternative. This town of Nipomo is a great place to make your well planned gas stop. Shhhh, don't tell the others! South of SLO, yet close enough for government work, you can save a bundle. If you are a Vons Club member (not hard to be), all you need to do is insert your phone number to get a decent discount on the still relatively low posted price. This can save you a great deal, the membership gives the discount plus the advantage of an already small town price. The store/gas station is relatively invisible to the 101 freeway, but it is also quite close and convenient, easy access. I know, I checked out the SLO competition on the same day I bought here. We are talking a savings of up to 50-60 cents a gallon for me that day as compared to SLO prices. My only (OCD) complaint is, there is no system in place to direct cars to a single organized entry point. Currently, cars are entering from either direction to get to the pumps. This means cars oftentimes are face to face, glaring at each other, blocking free flowing traffic and showing no respect for queues. Vons, you need to address this issue, if only to keep people from having a melt down. read more

Von's Gas Station is the cheapest gas between San Luis Obispo & Santa Maria. In fact, their cash/debit price is often a few cents cheaper than Costco's without the long lines. In order to get the lowest price you must either pay cash or use your debit card at the pump. You have the option to enter your Von's savings card, too. There is the convenience of a Mini-Mart with a semi-decent restroom available. I prefer this station to Costco, truth be told. They have air available for tires & somewhere to clean your windshield, something Costco in SLO has made unavailable. read more

Not that I generally review gas stations, but this one kinda begs for a mediocre review. Case in point; this station JUST had ALL of their pumps replaced less than a month ago...and a few of them are ALREADY 'out of order'!! Seriously??? That and a lackadaisical staff ,i.e. stocking the pumps with paper for receipts, putting water/soap in the window wash stations, having squeegees in those stations, stocking paper towels, etc., etc. The only real redeeming factor here is that this stations gas prices are significantly less than ANY other station for miles around...hence the contant crowding here, as if they were giving stuff away for free...LOL!! read more

I would give this station 5 stars. However, if you need air and water, and you pay for gasoline, you may be misled into thinking you need to pay $1.50 for five minutes use for these. Since 1999, in California, AB531 mandates that every service station in this state (with the exception of membership stations such as Costco and Cardlock Facilities), during normal operating hours, provide to customers purchasing fuel FREE AIR AND WATER. California Law also mandates that there must be a sign posted to this affect. There was no sign posted. Failure to give free air/water or not posting the sign is a $50/day fine. You can go online to California Department of Measure Standards to report any service station violators. I like this station as the gas is reasonable, the station is kept clean, and I can use my Von points to save on gas. If you get push-back from the clerk at your own gas station just stand your ground and ask for the Manager and then go online and fill out the form (no need to mail) and hit the send button. read more

Vons Gas Station - Gas Stations Near Me - Nipomo, California

Used to make this a regular stop on my commutes between SLO and SB, but 1/last several times was not able to get the prompt at the pump for my Vons discount credits and 2/ be ready for a $125 hold on your card for a few days (!) until they get around to posting what you actually spent at the pump (which for me would be $20-$35 only). I'm trying to call someone associated with this store location or Vons Gas to ask them about these matters, but it is proving difficult. A number of sites post the phone #805/929-7101, which in fact is not current. So if you don't mind these two aspects, then go ahead and use this location. It is an easy on-and-off for that area. UPDATE: to get any info on this location call the grocery store at (805) 931-1850. The $125 preauthorization hold is standard practice it seems (which is not acceptable to me, so one more point for going elsewhere), and if you want to avoid a problem with using your earned Vons gas credit points, well then best to make sure to go there NOT in the mart off hours (10am-6am), so you have a person there, at a register, to work with to get those points used. read more

I always stop here as I travel home from LA and love it. Just now, not so much. Waited for the restroom for 20 minutes, jiggled door handle, knocked, and got no response. I asked the clerk if he could check to see if someone is in there, he said "if it's locked someone's in there it doesn't lock from the outside"......well no shit, but either someone locked it and closed it or maybe someone's hurt and he just said can't help you sorry. Great prices which is needed on the central coast as prices are high in slo. The station is easy on and off if you turn west through the parking lot and go to the light. Otherwise you will need to make two u-turns to get back on the 101. read more

These are the rudest young people I have ever dealt with. I'm a 63yr old woman who needed assistance with the pumps yesterday and the young man behind the counter was so very rude. I ask him a question about the pump that had recently changed to chip and this was his answer " you either wait for it to reset or move " I then asked how long before pump would reset and his answer was " well I don't know " his tone was rude impatient as he rolled his eyes. This is the 2nd time I have had your young staff talk to me in this manner and evertime I experience this with your disrespectful employees I will yelp it!! I have a problem with bad customer service on top of a mistake bad the the employee. Mark, everyone knows MARK at Vons gas, the slowest cashier there And the on that makes the most mistakes. Well today was the FINAL straw. My bf goes in to get gas, clearly says FIFTEEN, 15... and what does mark do, he charges our debit card for FIFTY 50! Unreal. Never repeated back the transaction or anything, so after waiting in line behind two ppl and mark taking forever my bf walks out to pump gas and gets called back in by mark saying the card was denied. Blah blah. Knowing I didn't have 50 on my card, I put FIFTEEN in and got over charged for gas with money I didn't have. Mark has NO CLUE what to do. So another employee walks in Kyle, and fails to help as well, trying to tell him to calm down, excuse me its money we don't have that u made a mistake for. End of story both employees were rude and helpless and ROBBY the manager saved the day with a full refund for the over draft and problem! read more

This gas station has to have the worst service I have seen in my life. Erin, one guy that works the register is just horrid. I felt VERY uncomfortable and unwanted throughout my whole service. Being a Von's Club member I use this gas station constantly due to the discounts u get when buying food at the store. The employees r very courteous and friendly but seem to always work at a slow pace. Cons always has the cheapest gas prices in Nipomo and the downside of that is there is always a line of cars to get gas and the parking lot is very small so it's a very clustered gas station except for a few hours a day. I wish they pumped Diesel as well. 3/5 stars read more
