12:14 Wednesday October 2nd, I pull up to pump gas, I'm there for maybe 1 minute while I transfer some funds around to pay inside. This lady comes out demanding that I move or pump my gas. I tell her I just got here and she said it doesn't matter get your gas and go! What in the actual f..... There was only one other person at the pump on the other side... I'll never go here again. Stopped in to get gas today after driving up from Los Angeles. There was a sign "card reader does not work. Please pay inside." I went inside and told the guy behind the counter. I wanted to fill it up. He asked me what number pump I was at. I was the only person at the entire gas station, and pointed out the window to the black Jeep I was driving. He still didn't know what pump number I was at. So, I had to go outside, look at the pump number and come back in and tell him "number four." I handed him my credit card and said I would like to fill it up. He looked at me like I was speaking Swahili. What do you mean fill it up? Do you want $50? Or $200? I said "on what planet does a jeep hold $200 worth of gas?" I told him I just want to fill up my car and that there was a sign on the pump that said the card reader does not work. I asked him "does the card reader work?" He said "I don't know some people use it." At this point I'm wondering why they have such a dumb, rude idiot working at their station? I stopped by this gas station this morning and was having trouble with the air pump. I went into the store and the lady who was working said she would be with me in a few minutes. I went back to my car and waited and had to go back in to ask for help once more. The manager said it was on however when I went back it wasn't. I saw the lady who I asked originally for help and she yelled at me rudely that it may just be broken and no one would come out to see what was wrong. I like this shell. There is nothing extraordinary about it, but nothing miserable either. Change operated vacuum station, gas pumps, air pump, drive-thru car wash. Atm. I don't get why all the hate in the other reviews over the car wash. The instructions are pretty clear and the machine has never screwed me out of a carwash in the 3 years I've been using it. Broadway Shell - Pretty self explanatory - Gas Stations Near Me - Santa Maria, California

Shell on Broadway and Bettaravia has the lowest name-brand gas prices in the area that I've seen, usually 1-2 cents cheaper than the 76 Union and 10 cents cheaper than the Mobil stations down the street. This is my to go place to get gas in the Santa Maria area, with rarely with any lines. The gas station is safe, well lit, and frequented by many customers at all hours of the night. I haven't really interacted with the gas station attendants much, except for one time when my credit card wasn't working and the attendant, who was pretty nice, charged the appropriate amount to my credit card. The best way to enter the gas station is west bound on Bettaravia or north bound on Broadway. All other directions make this corner gas station a bit cumbersome to get to... But it's doable, you just might need to make some U turns. If you're a Ralph's member (which I'm not) you can redeem your Ralph's rewards here as well. This gas station gets a 4 star rating in my books for offering a safe place to get gas at good prices in Santa Maria. read more

Standard gas station but let's be real - it doesn't accept credit cards. I always forget so I am pissed off when I get to the pump. The prices are pretty low compared to other stations and usually you can get a pump quickly so it's not toooo bad. Pro Tip: Drive through here if there is traffic at the Betteravia/Broadway intersection. Sometimes it's faster lol read more

Display was hard to see and the pumps were busy but all worked out. Car wash was filled with litter and looked dirty but ultimately the wash ended up doing a better job than the newer Shell was I normally use in San Jose. read more

I recently visited this business. The pump did not print my receipt, car wash purchased. The young girl working very unprofessional. The car wash stopped in the middle of the process. I only use this wash when I don't have cash to tip at the other wash at Valero further down Broadway. This place is cheap but the customer service is unacceptable. My boyfriend used the wash a couple months ago and it stopped working. He didn't know what to do so he waited a couple minutes before backing up a foot to try to get it to go. Then he pulled thru and went in to tell the owner it wasn't working. The guy had the nerve to tell him he wouldn't give him his money back and yelled at him for backing up! He said "I SAW you back up! No refunds or free washes!" Even if my boyfriend shouldn't have backed up the guy should have let him go thru again because the wash wasn't working. And I think it goes without saying that you should never yell at or accuse your customers of doing anything wrong. read more

False advertising on the discounted car wash. The pump screens advertise a $3 wash when electronically scrolling through the displays, but do NOT indicate this is only when purchased inside the store. There was no additional indication on the pump. Was told inside that the manager will be informed and may change the screen... Never use your debit card at the shell Gas station on Broadway, I went to pump case and swiped my debit card, it just so happens the employee was changing the prices and when I tried to pump gas it wasn't working I went back into the station and the girl told me because she was changing the prices it didn't work and gave me a receipt for $25.00 back and to swipe my card again big mistake.10 days later the $25.00 refund still was not on my bank account. I was told by the head person there who happen to be there that it was more or less my problem now if I want my money back I have to dispute it with my bank which I found out you have to make a claim and it takes 10 working days. Moral of my story they can take your money but they can't give it back. I am never going back again to this gas station and the lesson I learned never use my debit card at the gas station again. Worst service ever! Went for the car wash & machine broke while I was inside. I had my baby in the car so I had to take him out go inside the store & ask for a refund. Attendants tells me, "all sells final- no refunds." I explain the car wash machine doesn't work! She said she can give me another ticket & have to go around again. Mind you, there 5 car in line already. I tell her I'm not about to wait inline for who knows how long. I just want my money back. She gives me attitude & repeats their policy on returns.
