I never look forward to ending up at one of these places (it's usually not a good situation)…read more... But, the staff here was absolutely wonderful, and we received excellent care. From the sweet lady at the front desk (Kristina) who made registration quick & easy, to thoughtful Nurse Rommel, who gifted us with a small teddy bear as a brave patient prize, to kind & gentle Dr. Bechtel, we were seen by quality practitioners who gave prompt attention, treating our situation with professionalism & empathy. Being an over-protective parent, we felt it better to be safe than sorry and came here after our toddler got too curious for her own good. The clinic is open 24/7, so we were thankful to arrive after 10pm with little wait. Dr. Bechtel was not dismissive about the situation but offered light humor, comfort, and reassurance. They kept our kiddo in observation with us just long enough to make sure she was okay and marked our visit as "urgent care" (versus an "emergency") to ease the financial burden. Don't want to repeat the situation any time soon, but this will be our absolute go-to if a medical emergency arises again. Highly recommend this place and appreciate the staff who took care of us that night.

What a great find! I went to the Magnolia location on 2978 and the moment I walked in the door,…read more the staff were professional and pleasant. I checked in and was seen immediately. I felt comfortable and at ease right away due to the amazing bedside manners. I want to thank Dr. Lorentz, JJ my RN, and paramedic Will for wonderful care. Dr. Lorentz was very thorough, caring and informative and JJ was made sure I was comfortable at all times. The facility is clean, bright, in a convenient location, and they take Medicare. Elyse and Lindsay who worked the front desk were polite and courteous. Although I can't say it was an enjoyable experience as I felt pretty crappy I will say the staff at American ER made it as pleasant as possible. Highly recommended. Theresa L. March 8, 2026

They need to change their name to the do not care clinic. There is nothing urgent about this place…read moreexcept their desire to get paid. Today I walked in with breathing troubles. I am a diabetic and heart patient who had open heart surgery four years ago. No one was on duty at the front office. When I yelled out emergency the tech leisurely, unhurriedly came up. They refused to treat me until I provided my medical insurance and paid a $50 copay. They then took my vitals and told me to wait in the lobby. When I called an ambulance they suddenly got busy helping me. They ran an ekg and eventually a breathing treatment but gave me no oxygen. Still waiting to see a doctor 45 minutes in.the lack of concern for anything except making $$$ is obvious.

I was told that after the first month, that they would call to check in with me on my progress. No one ever called. My first script ran out on 11/06. I have been calling and calling and waiting for my next script to no avail. The one time that someone did answer the phone, she said that the Nurse practitioner was out of the country. It's approaching two weeks now that I am waiting on my second script. I can't get in contact with anyone over there. No one answers the phone or returns my calls or responds to my messages. I paid for this weight loss program in good faith that I would not have any interruptions. Their service is horrible. If you decide to go here, don't say that you weren't forewarned. I just wish I knew beforehand, I would have went somewhere else. THIS IS NOT OK!!!

I went in for what the podiatrist described as an urgent nail avulsion due to infection on the nail…read morebed. He told me it had to be removed immediately or I'd end up in the hospital with a serious health risk, and gave me no other options. The procedure was coded in a way that insurance denied as cosmetic or comfort care, leaving me with a $400 bill that overdrafted my account. When I reached out for notes or a letter of medical necessity to appeal, I was told the physician no longer works there, transferred to billing, and the billing manager refused to help. She said they wouldn't do anything more, it was an insurance problem, and this was the last communication they'd have on the matter. She became aggressive when I simply explained I was upset about the situation. On top of that, they charged my card for the full amount without any prior notice after the denial, which came as a complete shock. The doctor was also negligent in dressing the wound, the gauze stuck to the nail bed, I had to return two days later, and he ripped it off dry, causing extreme pain and re-traumatizing the area. The nail is now not growing back properly. Patients deserve better than being left financially harmed and physically worse off with zero cooperation on fixing a preventable insurance issue. I wouldn't recommend this practice.
