Third hotel I've stayed in Indianapolis and definitely the best. Nice lobby, nice staff, nice rooms. However they had an issue with the TVs. The TV screen would dim itself and you could not change it from the menu. When I called they simply explained that it's an IT problem that only some rooms experienced. I was a little disappointed that they did not try to solve the problem for me. Secondly, in a place where everything closes at 6 or 7 it would be nice if they had a small convenience area. I needed Advil one night and they did not have any. read more

The Conrad hotel has black mold in the bathroom of room 1706 and likely others. I discovered it when I settled in for a relaxing bubble bath that turned out to be horrific. The hotel staff were disingenuously apologetic, despite my having serious health problems aside from being exposed to black mold. My deduc for my health insurance is more expensive than the hotel cost, yet they only offered $100 off my two nights' stay after this exposure and terrible inconvenience moving rooms after discovering this serious health and safety concern. Nonetheless, expect Conrad to take more from you than they deserve for a two-star hotel experience. They call themselves a 4 or 5 star hotel yet they don't even have USB chargers in the rooms. My review is based on location, service, pool, and suite. I stayed in the surreal suite at the Conrad and if you want to splurge, I highly recommend! Each of the 4 suites have a different art theme. Walking into the Surreal Suite felt like I was entering at art gala. Surrealism prints were framed on the walls and the suite opened up into a living space with a half bathroom and a separate bedroom with a very large complete bath- no tub. The floors were heated and the shower was completely sealed, adding to the warmth. The bed was extremely comfortable and complete with a pillow menu. Bose sound system speaker, iPad, and automatic lights and drapes were helpful and I loved the Nespresso machine. Overall, the art could have been better, but it was a fun spin an a traditional suite. The pool area was bright and clean and the apples on the towels is a nice touch. I saw couples as well as families enjoying the hot tub and heated pool. There is an adjoining Capital Grille but this hotel is centrally located so there are other options nearby . Late checkout was available for 1 pm and valet is directly out front. Was greeted by attentive staff and look forward to returning. Cincinnati could use a large resort style hotel, if felt like I was on a mini vacay. read more

Since I provided direct and thorough feedback [when a survey was emailed to me after our stay and never received any sort of follow-up] thought I'd post here as well. I used points to book 2 nights last month for our anniversary and was surprisingly pretty disappointed. 1. I'm a Hilton Diamond member, so am supposed to get automatic upgrades when available. Not only was it not offered by the front desk clerk - I had to ask - I was told it was an upgrade when it was a very small room with a view of the roof of another hotel. :/ Due to COVID, it was clear the hotel was WAY under capacity so I'm unclear why we weren't given a better room or suite. 2. Our room was located directly next to some young, loud folks which didn't make it at all peaceful. Again, unclear why they didn't put us on the executive floor. 3. On Sunday morning, we decided to relax, stay in, and order room service for brunch. It was disgusting. The food was slapped together, barely edible, and not at all worth what we paid. Overall, disappointed in a staycation I was initially excited about. Next time I'll research other hotels before defaulting to The Conrad. read more

Nothing special about the room for the amount of money it costs. The bar closes at 11pm on Friday night. They have no vending machines in the entire hotel. No microwave in the room. Requested an extra pillow it was never delivered. The coffee machine works sporadically. Very disappointed. read more

Stayed here overnight for a quick staycation to get out the house, but not be near others. The hotel did a great job keeping everything separate. Room was clean as usual and had everything we needed. I always look forward to a bubble bath in the large tub. Love that the pool/hot tub is by reservation. Room service is still available with a good limited menu. Our door had a sensor issue and maintenance was right on it and got us squared away no problem! As always great service and clean place to stay! Planned a trip through Amex for our family's trip back to the Midwest after several years of living in California. We chose to stay at this hotel and the experience was not up to our past American Express standards for the Hotel Collection. Our room had several issues including one of the TV's not working properly, the room itself had numerous signs of age from chipped corners to stains on the carpet, to the sink not draining and not to mention a funny smell in the hallway. We requested to have daily room service upon check in and after returning from being gone all day, no one had set foot in the room to bring fresh towels, change linens, bring new toiletries or change the trash. Upon our request for a second time later that evening, we were informed they were gone for the day and someone could bring us towels but not do a service until the next day. Definitely among the worst experiences I have had at any hotel through Amex and I wouldn't recommend this hotel moving forward. I guess the new Covid rules may have changed a lot but the lack of service after requesting was among the most disappointing aspects of all. There are better options in town so choose wisely. read more

This gym is located on the 6th floor of the Conrad. It is well above average! It's stocked for your workout! Plenty of cardio equipment... Treadmills, elliptical, and bikes. Comfy beds, clean room, great pool & hot tub with comfortable chairs, friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic shower/bath and the bathroom products smell amazing, as does the whole hotel! The coffee in the room was delicious. My only complaint would be that our TV had an automatic dimming feature on it and we had no way to adjust it. It made the TV picture annoyingly dim. Also a couple sticky spots on the floor of our room, but not a huge deal. My kids thought it was such a "fancy" hotel - they absolutely loved it. read more

The florals and decor of the entry is always to the tens. It's connected to tastings (awesome wine & beverages! ) + capital grille (best lobster Mac and cheese + calamari in town!) Full disclosure: I've never stayed at the Conrad, but based on my experiences, I can tell you it would be fab-u-lous. First off, the decor is jaw-droppingly beautiful. Grand lobby with marble from Verona, Italy? Check. Abstract gold Dale Chihuly inspired glass fixture? Check. A plethora of interesting artwork, ranging from Andy Warhol pop style to Salvador Dali originals? They've got it. They even have a brand new gallery space! While the Conrad is a chain luxury tier hotel in the Hilton family, I appreciate the local touches. Notice the circular patterns in the marble and carpet? That's a nod to the Circle City. The Conrad also works with a local art partner, and you'll spot lots of Robert Indiana (of "LOVE" fame) influences, too! Still not enough artwork for your palette? Then you have to check out the new Collections Suite on the fifth floor. Did I just step into a swanky, private New York City apartment complex for the rich and famous? Sure feels like it! My favorites are the surrealism suite with Dali influences with a cloud mural in the bedroom and the pop suite with Warhol galore. Also, the bathrooms are bright and spacious - I've never seen a bigger and more beautiful shower and tub in my life. Getting hungry? Check out the Capital Grille and Tastings: A Wine Experience, both connected to the hotel. Need some R&R? The sixth floor has an infinity pool and the Evan Todd Salon and Spa. Feel like getting married? They have large ballrooms and banquet halls, and they're connected to the Arts Garden. The Conrad caters wonderfully to both leisure and business travelers. The staff is incredibly kind, whether it's the valet welcoming you to the Conrad, the front desk/concierge assisting you, or the housekeeping staff. The service is on point. It's the little things like when the valet returned my car to me and asked if I needed directions anywhere. Nice hotel. Very pretty! Spacious rooms and centrally located within walking distance of several restauants, bars and St Elmo Steakhouse. The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is bc when we went to our hotel room it wasn't ready. The bed wasn't made and sheets were everywhere. We checked into the hotel around 12-1pm and were told our room will be ready in 30min so we had a drink at the wine bar in the hotel. We then go down the street waiting on our room. We are told at 3pm that our room is ready. Around 5pm we check back in to get in our room and it was not ready. This is the second time this has happened at Hilton hotel. read more

Old and dated. I've stayed at the Conrad in Washington DC, which is admittedly relatively new, and was very impressed. Coming here I knew some rooms had been renovated so I made a request for a renovated room, but was told none was available. I was given a room next door to the electrical closet, which I informed the staff would not work for me. I was given another old, drab room a floor down, along with a $20 gift card for their restaurant. If you're going to be old and dated at least be clean! There were dirty sheets (which someone did come change for me), spots/dirt on the wall papered walls, and hair stuck to the walls in the bathroom. Worst of all the shower had almost no pressure - even though the bathroom looked like the only thing in the room that had been renovated. Ugh. Never again. This was for a work trip and I have already notified the planners that we need another hotel for our yearly retreats as this one does not live up to the standards of other luxury hotels. One colleague checked out and stayed at the Bottleworks hotel not too far away and said it was far superior. There really are no words to described how truly perfect The Conrad and Artsgarden was for our wedding day. From our first look at the top of a breathtaking penthouse, to the ceremony in the luxurious and intimate Vienna Ballroom, to the grand, glass enclosed Artsgarden for the reception; the entire night flowed perfectly. Kelly was not only an extremely proficient and professional wedding coordinator, she was also a friend and source of constant support throughout the day of and the weeks leading up to our wedding. Heard every car horn, ambulance, etc (loud) hard to get a good nights sleep and I'm a deep sleeper. I'm the speaker at an event, and was stuck in a parlor room with a folding sofa bed that was hard and uncomfortable (there was an error in my reservation--not conrads fault) but I know they had more rooms and stuck me in a sofa bed room. The Conrad is one of (if not the most) the best hotels in downtown Indy. It's centrally located and beautiful. They have a large event space, lobby, and restaurant for the public. If you're a guest, the rooms are spacious, nice, and they even offer a pillow menu! In the mornings, there's quality coffee for all guests in the lobby. read more

We just stayed at the Conrad Indianapolis and was so impressed by the sincere hospitality that each person we encountered showed. I got my degree in hospitality so I'm very demanding when it comes to hotels, restaurants and hospitality. Conrad passed my test! We stayed two nights with a 6 month old, 5 year old and dog and had an awesome time! Ordering room service and swimming in the heated pool were big hits (get the sugar cream pie!) I also loved looking at the hotel through my 5 year old's eyes. She was amazed by how fancy it was compared to other properties we've stayed at. 'There's a phone AND TV in the bathroom! There's fruit in the water! We can order dessert to our room and they'll bring it to us?! LEXI CAN STAY IN THE HOTEL WITH US?!?!' So cute. The hotel staff were nice. The bellhop on duty at check in was terrific. He gave me the layout of the room and highlighted different things about the room and hotel. The rooms are very nice. I had a deluxe king and it felt like a suite. The hotel is light and airy.  The bed was super comfortable , the sheets and comforter were soothingly ,soft and I didnt want to get out of bed also, they have a pillow menu  ( choose a pillow that you like) I chose memory foam for my neck issues.  The hotel is located in a good spot , right across the street from the mall, plenty of resturants nearby, on a nice day you can walk to several resturants and coffee shops. The pool and fitness room were very eleganlty decorated and nice , the ladies locker room has a sauna which was nice. Everywhere you go in the hotel feels elegant and resort like. The only downer was no microwave included in room,but you can get one for 25.00 additional cost. Horrible experience making the booking. Then was passed off to a time share proposal where I got major attitude for not wanting to complete the transaction after hearing the details. Hilton has gone down hill. So once we show up we find out that everything we asked for in the room was nothing that we got. And then we found out that a sports team or some thing was coming into town and we probably got dumped down into a crappy room so they could make accommodations for the team. I understand but they should've at least given us a major discount. Horrible customer service, horrible hotel, horrible Hilton. And no apologies. read more

Here are some of the highlights: *Friendly staff! The front desk people even welcomed me by name and verified my Hilton Honors number upon arrival. *Timely valet! My car was ready for me within minutes of calling down from my room each time I needed it. *Awesome location! The Conrad is centrally located in the heart of downtown and I was able to walk to some nearby hotspots instead of worrying about driving everywhere or paying high prices for the hotel room service / restaurant. *Comfortable room with many amenities! I especially loved the high-end bath products! You will pay a price to stay here, but if you plan ahead and don't mind prepaying for your room, you may be able to score a discounted rate like I did... and if it's within your budget, or even a bit of a splurge, I am telling you... it's worth it! I spent 30 minutes trying to make a reservation for a one night stay with a massage. I spoke to 6 different people. The spa personal were awesome and called me back after leaving a VM. Reservations were hard to understand and when asking to speak to someone I could understand was directed to hotel personal who were friendly enough but couldn't book a reservation. From there I was told I would be taken care of and was directed to yet another voicemail. At the prices to stay for 21 hrs, not 24 hrs mind you ....if you can't pay for professionals to make reservations then maybe upper management needs to take a look at how your making reservations. Lovely. This Conrad location is the quality you would expect from the brand. Not quite on par with the Conrad in Chicago but still a great hotel. If you like artwork, you should stay here. It is a literal art gallery. Lobby is small but efficient and the elevators are fast which is always helpful. Grabbing a cab isn't as easy but ordering an Uber or Lyft was quick. Stayed on the 12th floor and didn't hear anyone else on the floor. I'll assume there were other people staying but the rooms are very well buffered. read more

Conrad Hotels, the upscale version of the Hilton chain has only 3 locations in the US; Chicago, Miami and this location in Indianapolis. When an impromptu trip to Indy came up, a friend suggested I try this hotel out. With it's location central to everything that I wanted to see while I was in Indy (the Capital and the war memorial)- it was an easy decision. After a few hiccups with getting a reservation (the on line system said they only had smoking rooms left) I placed a call to the reservation number and was able to get the room I wanted smoke free. From the time I got there and was greeted by the valet, who whispered my name into his ear piece so that that front desk was alerted that I was there- the service at the Conrad was quite good. People were there to help you if you even only looked confused about something,they would jump to your aid. The only downside from a service standpoint was that housekeeping shortchanged my room a bit with only one bar of soap, no glassware and no turn down service even though when I was going out for the night- housekeeping was right next door turning down my neighbors room. I suppose I could have called to have them come back but it didn't seem worth the hassle. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The king sized bed was comfortable with a down comforter and 500 thread count sheets that felt great to slide into at the end of the night. The work station is large and there are plenty of outlets in the room so that you can plug all of your electronics in to charge. Wi-fi in the room is an additional charge of $12.95 which seemed ridiculous given you are paying around $229 a night for the room. The bathroom is lovely, all marble with a separate shower and tub. The shower has a dual headed spray which was really nice. The Acca Kappa toiletries smell amazing (white moss was the scent) and while the basics are there- they also have a nail file, and a toothbrush in the room, There is even a small flat screen TV in the bathroom so you can catch all of that day's news while you get ready in the morning. There is a restaurant in the hotel (Capital Grill) that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also there is a wine bar called Tastings that uses the Enomatic wine dispensing system that dispenses a taste or a glass of over 100 wines with a pre paid card. Not sure when my travels will take me back to Indy- but given the great night's sleep I had during this stay- I will definitely stay here again. read more

I stayed 3 nights for a volleyball tournament. The entry is beautiful, front desk/concierge staff was friendly. That is the end of the positives. The hotel rooms are old & dinghy. The toilet, coffee maker, fridge & tv did not work properly. The WI-FI is awful. The shower is tiny & runs out of hot water. "If an excellent hotel in Indianapolis is your requirement, look no further than the Conrad." This hotel was so nice that I spent additional time in Indiana. It has a great overall feel, location and service. When I pulled up to valet parking I was greeted by a polite gentleman named "Conrad". I chuckled and gave him a few jabs about joking around, but he insisted he wasn't joking. Bellboy asked if he could take 7 minutes of my time to show me how my room worked and said yes with the distinct impression he was enjoying his job. There were two plasma TV's one in the main room and the bathroom. There was a coffee / drink bar that had everything you would want including a The Timer hour glass which has three separate hourglass timers, which will time 3 minutes, 4 minutes, and 5 minutes. You could simply tell there was a lot of though behind everything in the hotel rooms. Valet service for meetings was 100% reliable, car running and air / heat was on and ready. Meals were so so, they knew I wasn't totally satisfied so the chef made a desert just for me and by colleague "on the house"! read more

I'm writing this review as I am at the Conrad right now, in the world's most uncomfortable bed, a very cold room despite the thermostat being up high, and have been awake since 2am because there's some kind of crazy loud banging noise that occurs every ten minutes. This has been a horrible night and I'm sick to my stomach because of no sleep, my back and neck breaking, and being extremely cold yet the blankets provide barely any warmth or softness. The cleaning crew was up very bright and early and all I've heard for the past hour is loud rolling carts going by my door and doors slamming closed. Additionally, a staff member walked past us and wreaked of marijuana. I mean, I get where the country is going, but maybe not do it on the job? NEVER staying here again.... read more

I recently stayed here for a business trip and loved this hotel. Beautiful lobby with great lighting. Super friendly and courteous front desk staff. Great hotel rooms that offer a nice break from the traditional Marriotts and Hiltons. Right in the heart of downtown Indy and within walking distance to everything. As a runner, it was centrally located by great running paths (e.g., canal system, bridge near the zoo, etc.). I must have looked like a sweaty mess when I ran back, as the front desk offered me bottles of water right away. Overall, really pleased with the excellent customer service. My wife and I stay at the Conrad a few nights a year when we are in town. I would give 5 stars as this is a five star hotel but for the beds. We have stayed in numerous rooms and suites and every bed has seemed a little worn and slightly uncomfortable. That being said, I still sleep good enough to come back every time. I cant say enough about the rooms, service and Capitol Grille that is attached. Excellent location downtown is a giant plus as well. Do yourself a favor and book a night or two for your next stay in Indy. read more

I really wish I had more time to enjoy this property. It's an absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel set in downtown Indianapolis that brings elegance and sophistication with a modern flair. When I arrived, the valet was quick. The doorman was polite. The front desk was able to check me in an hour earlier than anticipated. And prior to arriving, by using the Hilton Honors app, I was able to upgrade to a bigger room by way of the concierge messaging feature. Absolutely brilliant. The room was spacious and clean which is everything I've come to expect from a Hilton property. I'm really bummed that the only hotel amenity my party and I were able to enjoy was the bar. We had a few drinks there before heading out and I was impressed with how quickly we were attended to. If Waldorf Astoria is old money, Conrad is new money. Contrary to many of the other reviews, the Conrad Indianapolis is not one of the nicest hotels, let alone one of the nicer Conrads. The hotel sits on Washington and Illinois streets with direct access to the Circle Center Mall from the second floor. The interior of the hotel is beautiful, and has an attached Capital Grill and wine bar. As other have mentioned, the location is great for downtown Indianapolis. This hotel was also used during the San Antonio Spurs during our stay, so there were occasional small crowds of autograph seeks outside. We arrived on a Friday evening, not even to be greeted by anyone. We pulled our bags from the taxi and headed for the reception desk. States from the hotel staff, but still know acknowledgement or even a hello. Check-in was quick and easy, however, no acknowledgement of Hilton status. We inquired into our status benefits, and we're handed a couple of $10.00 vouchers to be used at the connecting Capital Grill for breakfast (FYI - $10.00 gets you fruit/pasty with coffee for breakfast at Capital Grill - expect $25.00-$30.00 per person for anything beyond the fruit/bread). The room was nice enough, however, there was nothing that distinguished the Conrad from the Hilton. The king bed was comfortable, and there was a small couch/table seating area. The television did come with DirectTv and several HBO channels. The bathroom has a small television with ten or so channels. While there is a pillow menu, we did not take advantage of this during our stay. While the convenience of direct access to the Circle Center Mall is nice and the lobby is well decorated, this did not justify the significant price increase over the neighboring Hilton. When considering the complete lack of acknowledgment from anyone at the hotel during our arrivals/departures throughout our stay and the absence of any executive lounge or decent breakfast offering, I likely would not return or recommend this hotel. read more

Great location in downtown Indy and the spa area is very nice. The pool is a bit small and open to the public (kids), so it can be a little noisy at times. My wife loved her prenatal massage and I enjoyed the pool, hot tub, sauna, poolside service, & steam room. Loved the steam room! We had dinner at the Capital Grill downstairs and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. In all, it's a great place for a relaxing weekend if you can't afford, or make the drive to the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. We will definitely come back. read more
