This was an interesting hotel. I was in town for a convention, and my boss and I booked our hotel in February, for a May convention, and most of the convention blocks were sold out, except for this hotel. It's about a 15-minute walk from the convention center, although it was very rainy this week so I mostly Ubered. Pros: -comfortable room, although I will say the bed was a little harder than I prefer. -mini fridge, but unfortunately no microwave. -Nice traditional bathroom, with a shower. Nice shower products mounted onto the wall. (The last hotel I stayed at had the getting ready area outside of the toilet area, which I do not prefer, because it felt like a lot less space in the toilet area) -fast and friendly check-in. -free breakfast, which I forgot about. Generally if you're staying at the Hampton Inn it's on the second floor and the Homewood Suites (see below) is in the lobby, this week everything was in the lobby. -This used to be an old church and they kept some of the old structures, it was pretty cool. -The drop off and pick up area for Uber or other people is right in front and it's a small little area which was easy to navigate. -lots of charging areas in the room. Cons: -AC was making kind of a loud noise, I moved something on it and then it was fine. -the big con of my room was that it was pretty dark - there is no overhead lighting, there are two bed lights so to speak and there's one lamp at the desk. The room would have benefited from some overhead lighting. -It's technically a "co-located hotel," meaning Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites (both Hilton hotels) are in one building. The Hilton app allowed me to choose my room and I chose one that was close to the elevator but not too far either; however, you have to walk through the Homewood Suites section to get to it, which made it a farther walk. -my room view was... Some sort of roof, LOL. Someone had even left a ladder there. (See pic) Overall I had a pleasant stay here, though, and I would stay here again. I think my rate was about $275 per night which is high for it, the reason why it was so high was presumably because of the conference.

Located on the northeast corner of N West St and W Vermont St. in downtown Indianapolis, across the street from the IUPUI campus. This is one of the most beautiful hotels around! It's built within/attached to a historic church incorporating new, modern construction with existing pieces. You'll need to stop in yourself to see the wonderfully preserved stained glass. If your driving in, you'll want to park in the parking garage, which is located off W Vermont St., just be prepared to drop $35 a night. This is where the hotel's main entrance is located. The Hampton Inn and the Homewood Suites are both in the same location, which is very unique, so you can map to either hotel. A portion of the building is the Hampton Inn rooms and another portion is the Homewood Suites rooms. The Hampton Inn and Homewood Suite both check-in in the front of the building. Both hotel brands share the building, including the breakfast downstairs. There's a breakfast section upstairs that I'm guessing will eventually open for breakfast as well. The hotel has snacks available for purchase as well as soda, beer, liquor, and wine. I do have to say, I did appreciate the nice selection of local beer they had available. Oh ya, they have a manager's special on Wednesday nights I think, were they serve some draft beer too. The hotel's located within walking distance to downtown Indianapolis, probably about a 10-15 minute walk at a comfortable pace. It's also about a 20-30 minute walk to Lucas Oil Stadium. The canal is right next to the hotel, and it's a great place to walk and relax. There's also a Starbucks located on the outside corner of the parking garage. The room was very clean and the staff was very kind and attentive. I'd definitely stay here again in the future. Thank you for making my stay, feel like I was at home.

Stayed here to attend my graduation at IUPUI. I think this is a fabulous location for a hotel in Indy. Right off of the canal and across the street from the IUPUI campus, if you're here for University business, there's truly nothing better. The rooms were nice, breakfast in the morning very good, and did I mention the location is great? Starbucks at the corner, tourist spots and museums within a short walk, and a well equipped gym and heated pool. Parking here is the biggest downfall, over $30 a day. We used Lyfts instead and never waited more than 3 minutes to be picked up, or paid more than $8 to go virtually anywhere downtown. One other downside is that this hotel is on the same block as a fire station. It wasn't unusual to hear ambulances and firetrucks. The parking garage is also underneath the Hampton side of the building, so try to stay in a high floor to help pad the sound of the cars parking. I wouldn't recommend doing the digital self check-in through the app for this reason so you can talk to the front desk and try to secure a room that is more quiet based on location - they would know best.

I would give them 3.5 stars if I could because they need to be docked a little more for the parking situation. We opted for self parking in their parking garage because we knew we would be coming and going, and didn't wanna deal with valet. But the self parking was frustrating as all heck. Every time we tried to get in or out, the card reader didn't work. Our physical room key, and the one in the HH app did not work...ever. So we had to wait for someone to come and open the gate for us. When we showed back up around 10pm Saturday night, a person ran out and said all spaces were full, but I have a handicap placard, and fortunately there was one handicap space available. So I asked, what would have happened if I didn't have the placard and there are no spaces. She said they send self parking hotel guests to valet. (I have never written about hotel parking in such detail.....LOL!). The hotel itself was nice, especially for a Hampton Inn. This location is very close to the canal (I'm bummed we didn't have time to check that out). There are some university buildings across the street. The front desk staff were really nice, helpful, and informative. Totally on top of things. It's a very busy location, lots of people always hanging out in the lobby. It is shared with Homewood Suites, so the hallways split and depending on which elevator you take, it can be a bit of a maze to get to the Hampton Inn section. Our room was very clean, and the bathroom was surprisingly nice and spacious. We had a mini fridge, but no microwave. They offered no perks (like free water) for Hilton Honors guests . But they had a water bottle filler on the ground floor, and we used that. We didn't partake in the free breakfast because we had brunch plans, so I have no info on that. We selected a room at the very end of the hallway, since I'm a light sleeper. I'm really glad we did, because as we were walking down the hall, as we were passing rooms, we could hear people having normal conversations through the doors. So not the best insulation. The next morning we repeatedly heard masses of kids running and screaming further down the hall and we were like "thank goodness we got a room at the end of the hall!!!". Also, the main road in front of the hotel (N West St) is a popular route for emergency vehicles, so we heard sirens throughout the night. So if that would drive you nuts, get a room on the opposite side. (For reference, we were room 501, with a large window facing N West St). The price was very reasonable for a city hotel on a weekend. We would stay here again; but we'd opt for valet parking, especially since it's only $5 more/day.

Above average stay for the week with pretty much every aspect of the new hotel hitting on all cylinders. Absolutely room for improvements that I will touch on. However, they have only been open just over a month. The property is unique in a few ways. First it's a combination of two properties Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites. The cool factor is that it's built from a late 1800's church. It was one of the first African American house of worship in Indianapolis. They built new structures on the back and side and added a parking garage. Original stain glass and light fixtures remain. There is also retail space that's being finished off for tenants. Finally for the other unique item is location off the Indianapolis Canal Walk. I will start with the biggest highlight which was surprisingly the valet service. Its $37 a day and they earn it. My car was pulled out after texting them quickly and the staff was always friendly. Considering the high volume of cars with NCAA basketball and swimming I was impressed. Close second on highlight was the front desk. Check-in and out was smooth. Wake up calls handled correctly and other request such as an early morning request to coordinate valet to have my car pulled out at 5 AM. The property is still punching out a list. I saw workers outside painting railing for the handicap ramp. I'm sure there are other items pending. The biggest items I noticed were door molding falling off. I saw it throughout and my own room had the issue which I reported. Unfortunately it was never corrected and I did not feel like following up. Some rooms were so bad the doors were slightly ajar. Their are two breakfast areas. The main is first floor lobby which has real plates and silverware. A spacious area to eat with TV. The other is on the second floor. They have paper plates and plastic utensils which was a disappointment. I utilized both and recommend the first floor if not too busy. The food was better too! Expect eggs, potatoes, meat, waffles, yogurt coffee and juice. I loved the cinnamon waffle option. The staff was hit or miss on eye contact and no one went out of there way. The areas were kept clean. My king bed room was clean upon arrival . Proper bathroom supplies for several days were appreciated with their cleaning policy of every four days unless you ask for service. Interestingly enough I was there 6 days and received no service. On day 3 a housekeeping staff attempted to enter the room, I was resting and the door was locked. There are no do not disturb hang tags. I attempted to talk to staff that did not speak English. There is a mini fridge and it worked flawlessly. Some amenities of the hotel are a small indoor pool, first floor and business center also first floor. There is a small market in the check-in area which has microwave foods, snacks, drinks, alcohol and ice cream. I got a few beers and gave my room number and it was on my final folio. A cool factor is they have bottles of local Spirits made in Indy. The location next to the IUPUI campus worked fantastic to walk to my event daily. I felt safe during the day and night. As a matter of fact police was at the hotel upon my early morning departure patrolling. Yes a few hiccups, but by far the average score of four stars is warranted. I will return to this property the next time I have an event in downtown Indianapolis.

Amazing place to stay!!!! The hotel was very clean and updated!! The customer service was good and staff didn't disappoint. My only complaint would be the cost of valet parking. It's $37/daily for self pay and $32 for self park

I identified Home2 Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown to stay during my weekend in Indianapolis…read morebecause of its distance from my relative, and it being near Monument Circle and the World War Memorial. Other than that, I loved that it is a Hilton hotel, and the fact that it was lower in cost by a lot once I utilized my Expedia OneKeyCash rewards. I must mention parking because it was one thing that made me selective of hotel stay in the area. At Home2 Suites, valet parking is listed at $45.00, but if you want to take a chance there are parking garages in the surrounding area which cost around the same price. I parked at the garage located within Regions Tower and paid only $50.00 overnight. And there is metered parking in the area, if you are lucky to find a spot. My experience with the receptionist working behind the counter was nothing less than professional. Since my room had already been booked through Expedia, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing of what the hotel offers, and giving me my room key. For your information check-in starts at 3:00 PM and ends at 12:00 AM! And check-out ends at 11:00 AM! Home2 Suites, as expected, appeared immaculately beautiful! After locating and entering the room I stayed in, I said to myself "Lovely" once I took notice of the room and its kitchenet area. It came with a refrigerator, dishwasher, a sink with garbage disposal, plus cabinets with dishware and pots & pans inside. Now the furniture in the room gave the room somewhat of a homely like feel. The couch, and the carpet on the room looked like something you would see in your grandmother's house I swear, tehehe. The workspace in the room had a rollable table along with a rollable chair. And inside of the bathroom, there were liquid hygiene products inside of the shower attached to the wall. Seems like hotels are slowly doing away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that make great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in-between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I was satisfied with the water pressure of it, as well as being able to toggle with the spray patterns. Other things the room came with that I noticed were an iron, ironing board, an extra comforter, and a few lamps with electrical outlets. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Served from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM on weekdays, and from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM on the weekend; it was a relief to have the complimentary breakfast because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant in the area. Using a waffle maker for the first time ever was a fun experience I must say. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of what was presented for the complimentary breakfast. I would surely book with Home2 Suites by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of my interest in the city of Indianapolis. ~ Good vibes coming your way ~ Thomas G

That is poor customer service. Let me be clear. They were not busy. I woke up at nine a m with a paper under my door. I received a charge of $585!!!!! Now let me just tell you, i went in my room and went right to sleep, because I was exhausted for my day of travel. This letter told me that I had been smoking in the room and charged me this amount. I immediately called down a customer service and was told that they would take it off when the manager came in at eleven o'clock. I was somewhat relieved at this, so I went on with my morning and got ready and went down and waited. The manager assured me that they would not charge my card and that I had not been charged yet. They went ahead and charged my card for the room. I checked my card and I had only been charged for the room and a $50 charge for a deposit. After checking in, I received a text asking how everything was going, and during my stay I was able to send follow-up texts if I had questions or needed anything. In addition, I was able to borrow/sign out an umbrella one day when it was raining - there's a $25 fee if you don't return it that day, but it's a very nice service they offer. I realized I forgot a shower cap one day, too, and the front desk was able to provide me with one. Pros: -Huge and unique rooms.
