For every $100 spent at Safeway the customer receives $0.10 off per gallon of gas. If you have reward points built up then this is the place for you every time as you will get a great deal each time. Every once in awhile Safeway will give extra gas rewards for what ever reason. I managed to have $.50/gallon off in July due to a special they were running. It is nice to have incentives to save at the pump especially during the summer when the prices soar. I am not the biggest fan of the way the pumps are set up. One way in and one way out but the area to drive around the pumps to the other side is so narrow that one's car can be clipped. There is more than enough room to have increased the pull around area by a few feet that way insuring safety for all! Also, I don't understand why gas stations feel the need to charge if you use "credit." I understand they most likely pay a minimal fee to process the transaction but gas stations already make hand over fist and I am of the thought they should simply suck it up:) I have only dealt with an attendant a couple of times here and both times they were friendly but nothing to write home about. Very small selection of goodies as the store is across the lot. If you are a smoker this is not the place you want to buy them as they range from $7.5-$8 per pack and one can find them for dollars less elsewhere. Build up rewards over a month by shopping at safeway to see how many reward points you can build up and enjoy saving a few dollars here and there.

WARNING! Do not sign up for a "Nitro" card! I did on April 20, 2025 and it has caused me nothing…read morebut grief! The local store clerks encouraged me to sign up. But when I did and tried to use the card to buy gas at Maverik it was refused. The store could not figure it out. But I bought a soda on the card and it went through. The nitro card has worked for a soda several times. The clerk/s asked me numerous times to call the corporate number and finally I did. The are located in the Philippines and thus difficult to communicate with. But I was told they couldn't see a not see a problem. I asked for a supervisor but after waiting 15 minutes was told they were too busy but would call me. Well, it never happened! After a few days and encouragement from local Maverik clerks I called again. Same problem except this time a manager finally came on line and told me my account was turned over for collection to a credit bureau. It was for just a few dollars but now my credit is ruined. Until this fiasco with Maverik I had perfect credit. What a mess for me!

The friendly store people could not figure it out, but encouraged me to call. I kept trying to use my Nitro card and it soon would not let me buy even a soda. I called the company ( which by the way is in the Philippines). They could not figure it out either evenly with their broken English. Twice in as many weeks I have finished filling up only to discover ant I was charged the higher credit price. Both times I brought it to the attention of the manager who acknowledged that o should have received a discount but declined to refund the difference owed. And, instead, shuffled and said "at least you got points". This business is consistently and knowingly falsely advertising a price that it does not honor. I will not be back.
