I was greeted just as warmly by Deb, the shop owner, who chatted with me as I browsed. She's got the level of attentiveness just right-- she's lovely and engaging, anticipating customer needs (like offering the fitting room, if you're looking to try on their cute selection of vintage clothing) while also giving you room to explore the gorgeously-curated boutique. There are quirky, fun details to be found in every corner. I've learned pretty much everything you see is fair game! Even antique pieces I was sure were display only, like vintage thermoses and framed art. All affordably priced. Stationery, slim beeswax tapers, canvas pouches, unique kitchen/home goods, retro posters, knicknacks, vintage accessories, and so much more. I'll be adding photos, since words can't convey the array of awesome to be found here. Even better is it's pet friendly! Bring your furry friends. I know I'm going to visit as often as I can to make up for not discovering this Ithaca gem sooner! What makes the vibe immaculate is the shop staff, especially the owner! They have been just sincerely kind, generous, and lovely people. They have a basket of free water bottles to keep visitors hydrated. This is a new local hospitality bar set! If you drop by, tell them E sent ya.

It's similarly sized to other college town artist co-ops that I've encountered, but their inventory has some of the best variety of mixed media I've seen, at an appreciably high standard. Jewelry/accessories, apparel, pottery/glassware, wood carvings, prints/paintings, wreaths, and more home decor of all materials and dimensions. We found the perfect souvenirs to commemorate a group hike we did during our trip, after discussing the merits amongst ourselves between three artists who depicted the same trail in their own approaches: linograph vs photograph vs watercolor. We also purchased some crocheted plushies and a magnet, and my better half talked me out of a piece of enhanced folded book art. To respect the no photography policy of many of the artists, I'll just note that the website's artist portfolio just represents a drop in the bucket of what you'll find. We'll definitely stop in again for more unique wares whenever we pass through the area.

I would honestly rather spend money here. I just saw a lot of styles I haven't seen in a while. There plenty of items in the lower range too Lots of clothes, I'll be honest, I didn't look. Their music section in back has some great vinyl, posters, signed stuff. It was pretty busy for being in such of an out of the way location, but the mural walk is there too and the site is going to be a $38M development soon. Definitely checkout some of their one in a kind/limited pieces. Feels like a furniture museum.

Sarah and Raquel are the absolute best! I only started shopping in Pip's in March of this year, it…read morewas one of those stores I've always seen on Market Street but having only just graduated college and joined the workforce, wasn't really on my radar. Now a few years into my professional career, I stopped in in March just to have a look and left with two dresses I wear all the time. I went back a week or two later . . . and a week after that . . . and a week after that . . . And now I pop in weekly just to say hi. XD But for fact, the thing that stood out to me even as a 22 year old who normally shops at TJ Maxx the first time I went is that Raquel and Sarah are so sweet and helpful, but HONEST. They will always tell you if something isn't as flattering as it could be, AND they will find you a better item that does suit your shape or coloring better. I was at a closet crossroads where I no longer wore my college clothes very often, and most of my work clothes were things I got in a rush on sale when I got my first post-college professional job. Since March, I have replaced almost all of my closet with pieces I love and feel super confident in and feel like suit my shape and style. I represented my company at a conference earlier this week, got compliments on everything from my necklace to my shoes, got home and realized I had bought every item except my purse (earrings, necklace, blouse, jeans, shoes) at Pip's. The big thing that stands out to me is that I, a 22 year old, can go in and find an entire outfit and be there at the same time as a 45 year old mom of 3 who finds a great outfit, along with a 70 year old who has been shopping there for years and still finds things she loves. They have pieces for every age and body type, and you know that whatever you get, almost no one else will have because they get such specialized stock in small amounts. The jackets and shoes I've gotten from Pip's especially are staples. I wear the jackets daily, and every shoe I've gotten from them (stiletto heels to block heel boots to pumps to sandals to sneakers) has been a good fit for my high arches and so comfortable. I wear them constantly. I really can't say enough good things about Sarah and Raquel as people, either. I am an introvert who hates shopping for the most part, and really hates clothes shopping, but being able to go have a 1:1 with Raquel especially, and have her pull things for me and give me her opinion on shape and color and all that, makes it so easy. I love stopping just to say hi to her now. Yes, Pip's is a boutique that specialized in higher quality items and luxury goods. You can find great deals on the sale rack for sure, but it is definitely the financial equivalent of shopping at Tommy Hilfiger before they closed downtown (RIP) or Nordstrom. However, the value I get buying a $100 item that does feel like a splurge in the moment but turns into a favorite in my closet I want to wear constantly to me seems like a much lower financial investment long term than the $30 item I might have gotten at a chain store but only worn on occasion because I don't love the fit and donated 6 months later. Even the fun items I buy feel like staples I will have for years to come and never get tired of. Including the pink carpenter pants I've worn everywhere from date night with heels to work to actually working on house projects. If you want a shopping experience that feels like it's truly tailored to you, to help you find things you love and will wear on repeat because you feel so confident in them, go to Pip's. Most fun "staples" you will ever buy. Sarah and Raquel take the time to truly build relationships with customers that are personal, not transactional. It was the first thing I noticed my first time shopping at Pip's, and I've just seen it more every day since.
