We found Brian Hackett hard at work in his jewelry studio, which I think has taken over the Crafts Gallery space. In any case, we were impressed by Brian's work but were not in the market for jewelry, so we moved along. In the other wing of the building, we were astounded to find the most AMAZING little bakery - to think we almost drove right by this place and didn't even know it existed. Fabiola, Brian's partner, has brought a little piece of France to this quiet corner of Ireland! Her delicate pastries and exquisite desserts reflect professional training and an artistic eye. They taste every bit as good as they look, too... I am still dreaming about the raspberry tart. Oh, la la. Fabiola herself is a welcoming host and will make you feel right at home as you enjoy her sun-bathed cafe, which overlooks the patio garden and fields beyond.
