The menu was full of decisions. Breakfast foods, coffees, a Breakfast lovers DREAM! I ordered the Full Irish breakfast and what i received exceeded my expectations. I also ordered just a plain coffee. Before the food came, my cup was empty. I wasn't sure if the waitresses went around filling empty cups so I waited a while, then decided to go to the counter to get a refill. A little bothersome. They must have been busy and a little under staffed but I honestly didn't mind. When the food came out, everything was perfect. Egg, sausage, bacon, black pudding topped with a tomato, a basket full of toast, and a bowl full of chips. The only thing they did not have that I wanted was jam. The service, other than the empty cup of coffee, was excellent. I want to go there every morning! Oh and the price was very good. Two people, two Irish breakfasts and two coffees came out to be 15.95. Very sensible. Love Love Love. Definitely try it!

Fresh and healthy superfood salads, juices, dairy free sweet treats, daily hot specials, 3fe coffee and teas - all offered with dairy free milk options. I had the superfood salad of massaged kale, chickpeas, and spiced cous cous (with cranberries, pomegranate and pesto) for lunch. For €7.50 it filled me up for the day and is far more exciting then the dull packaged leaves and uninspiring dash of olive oil salads you get in other establishments. These salads ARE the dish, not just a bit of green on the side - they demand your attention and don't disappoint on taste! Less than a 5 minute stroll from O'Connell St, in the summer it'd be lovely to get a salad to go at lunch time and eat it along the riverside. I imagine the menu will expand as the business does, as chef-cum-proprietor Carolanne is Ballymaloe trained and well travelled! They maintain an active social media presence @sweetbeatsligo and already have a loyal following of customers - including me! Watch this space, as it expands into something brilliant, its thrilling to see young businesses like this bringing the heart back into Sligo town.

Was she right!! Even though the listing here on yelp says breakfast and lunch, this is also a dinner restaurant. Shane took our reservation for 6 o'clock after checking the books and seeing that they had about 20 names down already. We shared an appetizer-sized portion of the calamari, and most of us agreed that we wished we had ordered it for our entrée because it was outstanding. The waiter said the secret is that it is never frozen, and I can only say that I've never tasted calamari that tender and flavorful, so perhaps he's right. Don't get me wrong: each of our entrées was delicious, but that calamari!... Their menu list their local suppliers, which must another secret to outstanding food. We also shared two desserts among the six of us: an Irish cream cheese cake and a chocolate tart. Both came on plates adorned with two fruit gastrics and a tiny dish of delicious vanilla ice cream; the desserts themselves were excellent.
