Well, this is a review that is long awaited and related to a second project completed by Connected Technology at my residence. First project was the Tesla Wall Connector and that review is below. I neglected to mention that Scott was the installer and did an amazing job on the connector. Connected Technology recently completed a Solar Installation Job at my residence and I could not be happier. The entire process is as quick or as slow as you prefer. Bill (the owner) guided and educated me on Solar Energy and at no time, did I feel pressured to give a decision. I knew I was getting the right advice for this project from Bill. Once we came to the right system configuration for my needs, the process moved forward. There are multiple steps that are necessary so keep that in mind when going with Solar with ANY installer. Be patient. Cheryl reached out to me to detail the steps necessary prior to installation of the system. Then the Connected Technology team took over and did the rest. Little to no effort was required on my part, just patience. When there was news or my input was necessary, they always reached out to keep me posted on the status and progress. When time came to schedule an installation date after all the approvals were obtained from the Utility first and then the City (permit), an appointment was scheduled about a month out so you have time to coordinate the delivery of materials prior to the install date. Materials delivery by their Supplier was also very smooth and professional. Space was made in the garage and all the necessary materials were on a pallet, nicely secured and organized to make sure there was no damage to the materials. I just had to watch as it was safely brought in and later in the day, Daniel was sent by CT to check to materials and make sure everything needed was delivered. On Installation Day, the team of Brian, Ian, and Daniel unpacked and started the job. They made quick work of the pallet and cleaned up everything. All roof tiles were stacked nicely in a location I told them about and all other items were removed and taken by them. On day 2, Brian, Ian, Joel, and Sydney came to complete work on the roof and run the wiring/connect to existing panel/etc. They asked and knew what I wanted and my goals/objectives with this project and the delivered! The installation job was a masterpiece. Everything they did was beautiful art, from the appearance of panels on the roof to no loose wires to no external conduits to the combiner box install. That's it. 1 box! Driving around the neighborhood, I see systems with multiple boxes, multiple meters, etc and I found them to be an eyesore. This job was art! I could not be happier with the end result! I detailed this because attention to detail is important and its what makes a good job a great job! And every employee I worked with had this attention to detail and perfection. To everyone mentioned and not mentioned at CT, I thank you for making my project and my home, your project and your home! Top notch people using top notch products with top notch pre/post sales support makes it a no brainer to hire Connected Technology for your next job. Excellent warranty as well on the Solar System and roof. If I could give them 10 stars, I would. They do various jobs. Very friendly and professional staff from the first phone call when I requested a quote. They visit for a no obligation free quote. Another company wanted me to send in a bunch of pictures rather than come to my home for a quote, and I was too lazy, so I went ahead with Connected Technology. Their price seemed fair enough from my research. Very professional company and apparently family owned too. They always keep you posted and even send you an email with the technician's information and photo that will be arriving as well as a survey afterward. They were listed on the Tesla site as an approved electrician so they knew that with my battery, it would have been useless to spend extra to get the Tesla wall charging unit. Connected Technology was one of the options shown in the Tesla website for the 220v Wall Charger installation. I reached out to Bill via Yelp and he was very prompt with the response and the quotes. I also added a Ring doorbell install and he offered me a very competitive price for both the jobs. The jobs were done in 2 phases (no pun intended ;) and both times it was coordinated well by Kylie at the office. Kylie also coordinated the Rocklin inspections and it was all completed as of yesterday. Very satisfied with everything and also being rest assured that in case there is a problem, Bill and team will be responsive. "I got the call..." Tesla Model 3 buyers with reservations know what I'm talking about! Tesla called me to let me know my Model 3 was on it's way in a week! I had to get my 240v NEMA 14-50 outlet installed asap! Straight from the Tesla website, I contacted 4 electricians off that website and Bill was the only one who was responsive and was willing to work with me with my deadline. Connected Technology cared when others seem not to! We had a very small job - remove and replace an existing fan; remove and replace an existing smoke detector. All materials for both tasks were already on-hand (eliminating mark-up on parts the service-provider "sells" the customer - a major portion of every service company's revenue). Received a number of truly outrageous quotes from several local electricians that were rejected out-of-hand. CONNECTED TECHNOLOGY was the ONLY electrician that seemed to even want to bother with such a small job. From start to finish our communication with CONNECTED TECHNOLOGY and the company's genuine concern for the NEEDS OF THE CUSTOMER set it aside as one company to come back to again and again whenever there is a need. Highly recommend. Very responsive, patient, and honest throughout the entire process, and top notch quality of work. I reached out to Connected Technology for a quote to install a wall charger for my new electric vehicle. They were able to give me an accurate estimate remotely, and were willing and able to communicate via text (a huge perk for the kids these days). During the estimate process, they made some recommended upgrades to my overall system, but weren't pushy and did a great job explaining the trade-offs). They were booked pretty far out (probably because they're so good), but went above and beyond to get me an earlier appointment. When Tim came out to do the job, he was friendly, professional, thorough, and easy to work with. There was actually an issue with a job from a previous electrician that he quickly diagnosed, and was able to come out to fix the very next day. Bill and his crew delivered the project as promised but there were a number of concerns and issues that made whole experience lower than all the other reviews on yelp. Overall I think I might still reach to Connected Technology again for my future needs given all the good parts but I hope that Bill utilize the concerns to improve. The good: 1. Bill is very responsive and easy to reach. He is down to earth person and owns up to his mistakes without any of the usual blaming and finger pointing you get from contractors in California. 2. Office staff is amazing, always there to help and find a way to address your concerns. 3. Out of multiple bids, Connected Technology bid was the best (it was not the cheapest but very close) and Bill was the best in these early stages out of all the other contractors. 4. When unexpected issues occur, Bill stands behind his work and words. He will follow through on his initial promises even if it meant impacting him financially which is unfortunately something rare to find in contractors now. Concerns: 1. There are some fishy technicians on the team that worked at my house. Here are some incidents: a. One asked my son (a minor) to grab my CC to pay him without my consent. b. Crew leader was a pathological liar, he would lie about things that was very easy to verify and there was no reason to even lie about them which made it very hard to trust anything he was doing. An example: One time he gave me a call that he needs to drop by my house to turn-on my system, I indicated I can do it myself to save him the trip, after going back and forth that he was on the way, he confessed he forgot to connect a solar panel on the roof and he needs to re-connect it (which was really no big deal as we all make mistakes). 2. Technicians and Bill will take liberty to change things in the project without confirming back or updating homeowner. I ended up multiple times asking for work to stop and be corrected as it was not what was agreed on 3. Had a couple of hiccups with inspectors where work needed to be changed indicating lack of expertise in the county and city rules. read more

First, and most importantly, I would give these guys 6 stars if I could. My wife and I wanted to add two electrical outlets to the inside of our garage and a few outdoor lanterns. Bill came out to bid the job and he was punctual, polite, and able to quickly provide us with a quote which was VERY fairly priced. Connected Technology (CT) uses tablets to take notes and right up their bids which was pretty awesome because we received the estimate by email almost immediately. The only issue we ran into was a very minor miscommunication which was quickly resolved. Once we booked with CT and were met by Jared and Aidan. These gentlemen are fantastic! They were friendly, knowledgeable, polite, punctual, professional. All the things you could ask for. They did a great job adding the two new outlets and extending the line to two new locations for our outdoor lighting. Since we weren't opening up any walls to do the work they did a tremendous job running the conduit in a very inconspicuous location along the walls to make things nice and neat. What I appreciated most about Jared and Aidan is that they were so approachable and willing to help. Once the work was complete they had me come out to inspect the work, explain what had been done, and offer some guidance since I planned to install the lights myself. They also made sure to clean up their work area before they left too. If you're looking for an honest company to do quality work I'd highly recommend CT. I've already had them come back for a second job and recommended them to a neighbor and we've all had great experiences. Just a bit more about Jared. He has to be one of the coolest, most laid back (not in a bad way) dudes I've ever met. He's the kinda guy you wanna share a beer with after the job is done.
