Sonia along with her kids and the many volunteers that come together to put these awesome bags together for children ranging from infant to teens that are suddenly taken out of their homes without any warning. They are donation based and so with that they are always in need of clothing, toiletries, coloring books, things that are both a necessity & then that small item that might be able to give a child a bit of comfort in a traumatizing time. I had the pleasure of putting together a donation collection through my office last year, the picture I posted does not even do justice as that box was packed... We had such an outpouring of support and it goes for such a wonderful cause. A year round organization , they can always use volunteers to help put the bags together and Sonia along with her family are a joy to work with.

What the program offers looks great on paper and while…read morethey manage to present to their public programs that superficially reflect what they offer, the quality of that service is very much compromised by the absence of any real oversight or contribution by management. Management's #1 concern is $. And, since numbers of visitors (or members since visiting requires signing up as a member) determine the amount of financial investment to the Center, the number of daily visitors is Management's prime concern. Apart from that data, Management allows the Center to be run by Staff who, taking their cue from Management, are primarily concerned with retaining their positions and their favor with Management. The result is a cutthroat work culture in which employees learn quickly to walk on eggshells. Employee credentials, (most especially those of Middle Management) are questionable, at best. And, reviews like this one are frequently removed from reviewing sites and false ones, written by current middle-management replace them. The real welfare of the clients (members) is most definitely lost in the mix. And, any employee who conducts themselves differently or, who makes any real attempts to return the focus to the client, is shunned by the rest and immediately placed in the line of fire to be let go. Foundation needs to rename this site, more aptly....the UNwellness Center.

At a former job of mine, Food Share allowed the educational non-profit organization I worked for to shop weekly for fresh produce to distribute directly to elementary school students and families served in need, many of whom struggled with food insecurity. This partnership was vital, and very much appreciated by all because it helped improve food access throughout our community at wellness fairs and nutrition classes. Thank you for your hard work! It was such a bad experience. The doctor had no bed side manners and I felt like a baby factory, very cold- matter of fact and just another woman having a baby. There was no love in the care I received. After we transferred to California I had no doctor. I wanted to check on baby and found this location had ultrasounds available. I was able to speak with a person on the phone and get an appointment very quickly. My experience was so joyful and pleasurable from beginning to end! The women who work on the team are so caring and friendly. I had a great experience especially in comparison to my initial and first ultrasound. What an amazing place that I honestly didn't even know existed! The people working here are so knowledgeable and good to the cats. The girls had the best time playing with the cats as well! It is possible move about the multiple trails at your own pace self guided, or join tours (when offered) to learn about the Plants, Birds, Geology, and Art. The garden is tucked away, and for me getting there and back to Ojai proper was a big part of the magic of the visit. Thank you to all who created and maintain Taft Garden and Nature Preserve.
