We sampled both wine and cider, and both were excellent. I even took home a white wine, which was spectacular. Although I usually prefer reds, I couldn't pass it up. I also grabbed a bottle of the Cayuga for our daughter, which was equally tremendous. While I was busy taking photos of the sign, I noticed a man watching me. I explained that I do this at every spirits location we visit. He introduced himself as Matt and kindly suggested I take pictures from the other side of the property for a better view--and he wasn't wrong. Later, when I got home and researched the place, I learned it had been a farm since 1910, originally owned by the Devenport family until 2017. It briefly passed to another owner before being taken over by the third owners, who I met without realizing at the time. I can't wait to revisit this incredible hidden gem!

When you arrive, you realize that it really is a "cellar" as the tasting room is located in the basement of a house. When I arrived, nobody was there to greet me, but there is a button to push, and a gentleman came down momentarily. He was very knowledgeable of his products, and told me a little bit about where he sources his honey (some of it sourced locally), and promptly started pouring me a variety of samples for me to taste. There were a multitude of various bouquets, and flavors, sweet, dry, fruity, etc., and something for a wide variety of palettes. I settled on purchasing two types, one being a semi-sweet made with orange blossom honey, and the other, a black mead made with fresh currents. These will be served at the dinner table with our holiday meals. Very cool place, and I highly recommend the experience.

But it's worth trying it... when you google winery this is what was suggested. We walked one whole mile from the park... I suggest you drive since there are areas you are sharing the road with cyclists (no barrier from cars) and if you do not cross the 4 lane highway as soon as you walk up the hill. It becomes more difficult to cross it. It's a cute little place. Not much room to move around but our friends D's bought 6 bottle ( it should tell you something) we just got the Hot Kisses ice wine(a whopping $29.99)... it has a single Thai pepper in it... so if you like hot I would definitely visit this place....

I first discovered this little charming cidery and winery from my partner who had tried the cider elsewhere. Returning from Erie, he found that we'd be passing Knocking Noggin so we swung by. We've made the trip three times now. We've only been disappointed once when my partner and I bought 4 growlers for a gathering we were having and none of them tasted good. Something happened where they were either mixed or went bad in a matter of two days. I reached out to management, and they quickly responded with apologies offering to provide us with complimentary refills. We brought our growlers back just as promised and they were refilled at no charge. Some of my favorite ciders have been the seasonal ones including Butter Beer, Pineapple, and Chocolate Strawberry. Pineapple is my top one hopefully coming back in the summertime. If you have the chance, visit this place during a town festival or even when nothing is happening to just have a wine slushy or glass of wine out on the patio.
