Congeries Consignment is a gem in Santa Fe. We furnished our home with unique, comfortable pieces we would never have been able to find, let alone afford! The art selection is well-curated and fairly priced. The owner, Shawn, is kind, knowledgeable, and very creative. Recently, they expanded their clothing boutique, which now carries exceptional bags, shoes, clothing, and jewelry. I send our houseguests to Congeries for Indian pottery and other fabulous treasures. I had to leave the store because it smelled so bad. There is a strange chemical smell in the air that give me a headache after just a few minutes of being there. The pieces are overpriced. The staff is really sweet and the location is pretty good. Lots of parking. But I don't think I would come back given the smell all over the store.bummer read more

Love this place! Been multiple times, every time I've been in Santa Fe. It's huge. You can find anything from incredible bracelets, and art, to unusual furniture. Nice, knowledgeable staff and owner. I laughed reading some of these reviews by consigners obviously unfamiliar with how consignment works and expecting some kind of boutique experience where someone holds your hand and listens to your problems. The best part of this shop is the fact that it a treasure hunt with surprises around every corner. I also consigned a few things here, as I've done at other places. Their contract is basically industry standard, likely from some consignment handbook. All my stuff sold, but that's hit or miss in consigning. People have such an entitled attitude now, I'd hate to be in retail. After buying furniture, rugs, etc over the last 5 years, we decided to sell our condo. Of course I called Congeries 2 weeks ago to schedule a pickup and check on items the would sell. At no time did they inform me I needed to get "approval" from them on items we wanted to bring in. My first clue that some of the items, we had purchased from them, would not be accepted, was 2 hours before the driver was arriving. He said they need photos to get approval on the items, and there would be "additional" charges if he had to drop the items somewhere else. As hectic as a closing is, I had to deal with this. If you are buying, Congeries might be a good idea, but you have lots of choices in Santa Fe. read more

Beautiful store, let's talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly. First up, I encountered an employee that was wearing her mask around her chin. Big nope. That's not how we roll right now. Look, we have been in this for almost two years. We take care of each other right now and this was just wierd. I thought it was just a temporary moment like we all have but -- no. Nose wipin', no mask-wearing employee. I should have just left tbh. I hope the owner understands the weight of this, and please don't respond to me. These are facts. Everyone should wear a mask and your brunette employee isn't exempt. The good: beautiful store. Awesome ideas. Lots of inspiration. Some interesting pieces are mixed in throughout all the rooms. The "rooms" themselves are fun. Themed out and stuff. The bad: Every price tag was absolutely disgusting and mindblowing stupid and not even within the realm of reality. Like you have to be mental to pay any of these prices. Don't get me wrong, there are really beautiful pieces in there. But no one in their right mind should pay $4500 for a faded destroyed sofa that you aren't going to sit on. Most furniture was over $1000 and I just died laughing looking at the pricetags. Listen, I make 6 figures and I'm not frugal, but I'd never buy anything here. Like ever. I'm happy for the experience to know that I'll never ever ever go back here again. read more

Love love love this shop. We go on a regular basis and each time find more than a few things we love! We purchased a Pottery Barn table for our covered portal, a spectacular lamp for our entry way, a water fountain for our front yard, beautiful Mexican bowls for serving pieces and some fabulous clothing from the large upstairs resale area!!! Not a time that we fo there do we walk out empty handed. Prices are not inexpensive but many time the owner/manager works with us when she can. Love this place!!! A must go to!!! read more

Though I've never had a fulfilling experience with consignment stores, this is a first. After many months of my consigned table remaining unsold, I stopped in to see how it was being displayed. I looked high and low, but couldn't find it. When I asked the staff for help, the owner told me their computer was down and they couldn't help locate it. I described the table, and one of the staff said she thought it might be in "the kitchen". At one time, this kitchen room had been a public display area, but it appeared to have been converted to a kitchen for the staff to use on their breaks. It was being renovated and the entrance was blocked with a sheet to stop shoppers from entering. My table was indeed inside. It was covered with dripping paint cans, kitchenware and personal items staff had brought to work. They hadn't even bothered to cover it. The owner offered unacceptable excuses for using my consigned furniture as a work table rather than displaying it for sale per our contract. After a bit of heated discussion, she ended up paying me for it, basically so I would go away. I have purchased nice things at Congeries. The staff is pleasant. But I think they showed a disgraceful disregard for an item I entrusted them to sell for me. I would strongly caution people against consigning there. read more

Congeries Consignment is one of my top three favorite consignment stores in Santa Fe. The amazing variety of merchandise, the fast turnover of merchandise and the super friendly and helpful staff are among the top reasons I shop AND consign in this establishment. I will often take friends with me just so I can introduce them to this amazing space with so many tempting items. The original art work, the kitchy eclectic items, the jewelry and the upstairs closet full of unique and fashionable clothing are some of my favorites. Nice store, too bad the staff doesn't match. After multiple opportunities, I was not greeted by staff. Not even once. I must have looked cheap, poor, or too brown. I don't know. The merchandise is quite nice. A good amount of it is overpriced, but there are a few well priced items that caught my eye. I ended up dropping a good chunk over at Double Take because 1. They at least said "Hi" to me. 2. They had decent prices for some of the stuff I was looking for. I may go back to Congeries just to keep up to date on their inventory. I may put up with their lousy customer service enough if I find something that screams "Buy Me!". read more

In French, congeries means an aggregation of dissimilar items. This consignment store definitely has a wide variety of wares - ranging from textiles, clothes, furniture, art, and more. A large hanglider suspended from the ceiling is dwarfed by the size of the warehouse, which has some items grouped by theme. There is a room for sports paraphernalia, one for kitchen items, and on and on. I left my first visit with a gorgeous bejeweled bolero. A must visit if you are looking for vintage and eclectic finds! Prices are somewhat reasonable, furniture slightly more expensive. read more

I make trips to Santa Fe every 4-6 weeks for business mixed with pleasure. I always stop in to see what is new at Congeries and am never disappointed! I needed a french farm table and matching twin beds on this trip. Get prices, atmosphere, friendly staff. Rebecca is always a breath of fresh air. Knows the inventory, what is where and cost. The owner Sean is always welcoming and works with me on letting it hang out a day or two while I arrange moving it to Tucson. I have never had anything but professional and courteous service. My designer friends from other parts of the country call them to see if they have that just right, unique piece. They send photos, descriptions and disclaimers on any damage they are aware of. They are also always very happy with the service they receive. I love shopping and browsing here. It is always a welcome home to my city that I left in 2000 to be closer to family. read more

I never visit Santa Fe without going to Congeries. It is an excellent source of great furniture, rugs & art. I have bought art, daybeds, jewelery here. All are fairly priced and in fine shape. Their items move quickly, so if you see it and like it, I've learned not to delay because it won't necessarily be there on your next visit. The owner and her staff are very pleasant to do business with. Upstairs is a new section with independent vendors who also offer interesting finds. read more

I have lived in Santa Fe for 16 years, own a business here and am part of the community of folks who love to look for and find that just right treasure that's available at many of our local venues. Congeries is a delightful experience with thoughtfully displayed, distinct items for sale and a helpful, gracious, knowledgeable staff. I have purchased clothing, furniture, jewelry and textiles from Congeries and have always been pleased with my purchases and the prices I've paid for them. The owner and staff have always recognized me when I come in, greeted me with warmth and remembered particular items I had been looking for. They have even followed up by calling to let me know when an item became available that would be perfect for me. There are many consignment shops in Santa Fe, each with their particular flavor but Congeries is one of the best, the most diverse, the most reasonably priced and certainly the most pleasant to visit. read more

I just moved to Santa Fe and needed a new house of furniture. The staff acknowledged us when we were the first in the door and we were greeted. While I saw some things I was considering purchasing, I paused to tell my friend that I needed to go to the bathroom after shopping at an other place and waiting for this place to open. My friend asked in my behalf and was told there are no public restrooms. I was surprised and said this was a disservice to customers, especially women like me that are getting on in age and things don' t work the same as when we were young. She stated that their toilet cannot accommodate public use. We left quickly and found a place to go, and proceeded to two other places in town, spending almost $900 in furniture. My friend is a long time resident of Santa Fe and confirmed that other places are nicer. One of the other shops stated they were aware that this shop has a toilet issue. Why doesn't the owner just fix it and get their customers to stay longer? Don't come here if you need to stay hydrated because you will have to leave quickly. It was a bad experience for a new resident here and now my friend forbids me to return to buy anything here. I'll wait to see if customer service and convenience is improved before returning. read more

The owner was one of the rudest people I've ever met. This store may be a find for buyers but for people who wish to consign something the store takes a ridiculous split of 55 per cent while the seller only gets 45. Even Ebay has better rate structures in a 60/70/80 per cent structure for the seller for every $50/100/200 sold. This place reduces prices drastically if your item doesn't sell within a short time frame, without giving you the option to pull the item. And parking is a nightmare! I say, as a seller, move on. read more

The owner is kind and friendly; the staff are knowledgeble, sweet, and well-trained, so much so, that I bet it is a prime focus of their training and job requirement. Very unique, beautiful items. I've sold and purchased many times. Some are out of my price range obviously, but it doesn't hurt to bargain. These poor reviews are hilarious, from local to tourist alike. You must have some giant chip on your shoulder to be so awfully offended because one of any given three staff at a time in an 18,000 sq. foot multi-level were not able to be your door man or provide you with a restroom. (Have you ever shopped in Madrid? Good luck with a restroom or even free water at that.) I'd go here for the down-to-earth factor alone-good luck finding that at 90% of the other consignment shops in this town that like there rich Texan customers more than locals. read more

I am new to Santa Fe and consigned at Congeries. It was the worst experience I ever had. The woman who owns the place is rude, disorganized and does not honor her consignment contract. I showed up, per her lengthy instructions, before the 90 days were up. I could not find certain items and was leaving town. I wanted the items re tagged, happy to pay the fee. One of her staff told me not to worry, she would find them. When I went back, I got the owner. One of the items was given away before the 90 days and I couldn't find the other item. She didn't even know her own rules and was trying to place all the blame on me. Then proceeded to say, with the contract paper in hand, "I'm only going to go over this with you once". She didn't like that I was correcting her, so when I recently went back to check on items (that unfortunately I consigned before I knew how bad things were there), she had pulled the items from the floor before the contract was up. I also never got a list (because somehow, no one can ever do anything while you are there and unless you come back multiple times) for some other items, so essentially 1/3 of what I consigned with her I lost. She accepted no responsibility. This business is disorganized, unprofessional and accepts no responsibility for their part of the relationship. At every turn there are unreasonable "rules", nickel and dime charges and just an all around unpleasant business atmosphere. There are lots of consignment businesses in Santa Fe. If you want to consign, go elsewhere for good business organization, pleasant and respectful business dealings and fair business practices. I don't associate this business with any of those attributes. read more

When shopping for furnishings for an historic adobe home in Santa Fe we wanted a combination of fine, fun, functional and funky -- Congeries has it all. In addition, the inventory is tastefully displayed in a clean and spacious historic building (fun in itself). And the icing on the cake is the gracious and helpful staff. I cannot attest to service received after a purchase, or any dealings with Shaun, but I must commend the customer service we received from Blythe and the other lady at Congeries. We visited Congeries a few minutes after visiting The Raven where we were neither greeted nor acknowledged during the 45 minutes we spent there. Upon entering Congeries the ladies smiled and greeted us. After a bit Blythe checked in on our progress and eagerly answered our questions but was not pushy. The other lady was equally as willing to assist us. Although we did not purchase anything this time I guarantee we will surely return to Congeries and NEVER to Raven. read more
