I like this Latin place. They have good food and affordable price. They kind tuck away at the corner of the plaza. We were here for their Columbian Sancocho. Unfortunately they sold out the day I have visited. We will try it next time. The Sancocho is a soup with everything ingredients in that day when we visited Columbia. Not much of different here. Stopped in for a quick lunch special to have for dinner! It wasn't busy but I assume that's because of the world right now. The food was delicious and it was affordable! I ordered the pollo Asado with yuca, plantains, and yellow rice. The inside was very clean and there was plenty of seating if one wished to dine in! The yellow rice and yuca were a bit plain for my taste as I like them with a lot of flavor! The plantains were fried nicely and weren't burnt. The chicken was delicious and flavorful. The Cuban sandwich is alright. I'm guessing the bread is old because although my sandwich arrived "toasted" but the insides are barely warm. Room temperature at best, the cheese is not melted. Yet it was very crunchy, reminiscent of stale bread. This is the first time I've received a Cuban sandwich with lettuce inside. I'm not sure what that's about. Traditionally it's pork, ham, Swiss, pickles in their mojo. I'm not sure why every Cuban I've had in Florida thus far has salami. There was Not enough pork to taste it. We order a simple scramble eggs with bacon and toast it was very plain and the bacon was burnt. The bread was burnt, customer service was non existent they put no effort into providing suggestions on what to eat as someone who has visited their restaurant for the first time . The only thing that was okay was the coffee, & when it was time to pay that's when the waiter showed interest and making sure everything was okay. She knew we weren't satisfied with our service. By no means a bad 3 stars. It's a nice clean Cuban restaurant with daily specials. 1 meat 2 sides. I loved the option of being able to add soup or salad for .75 cents. I've had the roast pork in both occasions and both have been dry. I loved their homemade hot sauce but not enough is given to compensate for the dryness of the meat. I'm working from out of town, so I chose this spot and went inside on a whim. Ordered a meal, a deviled crab empanada, and a colada. Let me tell you, the food was absolutely amazing, the deviled crab was really good, but not the best, and the colada was perfect. The service was top notch. The place was super clean and so were the bathrooms. I highly recommend eating here. Next time I'm in town, I will for sure eat here again. read more

I showed up here late, close to closing time one afternoon & was quite surprised to find a Cuban restaurant. I love many types of food, but living in Tampa I am quite partial to finding new Cuban establishments. Besides loving Cuban food & sandwiches, I love that most of these establishments also offer breakfast during their entire time open. As I entered the small quaint restaurant, I was pleasantly greeted. The specials were explained to me and the staff was very friendly & knowledgeable. I ended up ordering a bacon, egg & swiss cheese sandwich, pressed warm & toasty for my late lunch. The sandwich was fune, nothing remarkable, but hey, that's what I ordered. The establishment was closing, yet they did not hurry me, in any fashion. Did I mention that this place is immaculate? I mean shinny clean, immaculate! The cafe con Leche gave me a nice afternoon pick me up and was quite delicious & expertly prepared. It is hard to give it a fair rating on an egg sandwich & cafe. This is my favorite restaurant on the Southside for several reasons-taste, cost, and selection. I have even brought dozens of out of towners here and they liked it. I love that they have pupusas, empanadas, and tostones and I can pay a couple of bucks to enjoy them without being in the kitchen all day. Conga loses a star bc of the numerous times I've gone and they've not had but 1 server which caused a huge delay in getting service. The staff is super friendly but that doesn't help when I have had to bus tables, serve drinks, and run food. Granted, I could have sat there and watched them struggle to serve my group I most recently brought, but as a former server, I couldn't do that. read more

Conga's cafe has plenty of parking. They are situated on a Walmart shopping plaza and they are really the only restaurant there. The restaurant is small and very quaint. They have about a dozen tables and the place is clean, silverware clean. It is a cuban restaurant so it helps if you can speak spanish. They are not the most friendliest, likely because of the spanish/english barrier. Ordering food is easy though, grab a menu and point to what you want. They do speak english but it's a bit broken. I ordered the Ropa Vieja with black beans and yellow rice and it was very good. The food portions were not exaggerated either. I ordered a cuban coffee and it was very good. If you haven't had one before, I recommend it! Overall this place is good. I spent about $12 for everything. read more

Went to small Latin Cafe for a quick breakfast. Ordered the Special-- scrambled eggs bacon Cuban toast and small cafe con leche. Toast came out first then the coffee which was more like warm milk with a hint of coffee flavor-very weak--waited at least 15 minutes for the egg and bacon-- coffee and toast was now cold. Asked about food and she said "it's not ready". Finally got cold rubbery eggs and salty bacon. Eggs were not scrambled--obviously poured on a grill and left to cook flat until overdone and not scrambled then left in kitchen until cold. Horrible service and tasteless food. Person I was with got their breakfast about 5 minutes later. I am used to the good Latin food in West Tampa and these people need to learn how to make Latin food and drink if they are truly a Latin Cafe. read more

I order the pork chunks this afternoon with white rice and red beans, the red beans had absolutely no salt in it they tasted disgusting. The pork also wasn't fried how I'm used to having Cuban pork chunks. I'm so upset that I went to this restaurant I was trying to find some good Cuban food coming down from Atlanta but it did not live up to expectations at all. I'am from Miami and I'am usEtO eating really good cuban food ... this place tasted just like home , especially in tampa where there are no good Spanish restaurants whatsoever !!! Every time when I'am in town I come here.
