Nissi's is a great event space. I know it as a host to local (and sometimes not so local) music…read moregroups. On their website, you will find a full roster of shows to include local bands, comedy, and a lots of tribute bands. They are also open to private events. I find myself at Nissi's about once per month to see my favorite a capella Rock Band, Face Vocal Band. Face has performed at Nissi's for over 250 shows, and while they have been hosted at venues around the country, and literally around the world, Face loves to perform frequently for their local fanbase. Nissi's and Face built a great relationship starting two decades ago, at Nissi's former location, and traversing the years to tonight, where I will see what must be my 15th or 20th Face Vocal Band performance at their home base--Nissi's (I've been to both the former and current NIssi's locations). At Nissi's there is literally not a bad seat in the house. They have high tops in the back, where you can see over all the tall audience heads and look the performers right in the eye, and they have a lot of floor seating of various table sizes. It's not a huge venue, I think sitting about 75 in the audience. Tickets are reasonable priced-- I paid $35 each for mine tonight. While my husband and I have our favorite high tops for two, this time, I chose a four-top high-top to accommodate my visiting family and myself. I like the high tops in the back, firstly, because I'm short and can see over everyone, but mostly because the sound is great when you aren't too close to the stage. You can also choose a table for two, four, or 6, or whatever you need. Of course, you can always purchase a single ticket at any table with an opening. Meet someone new! The food is also good. There is a menu of reasonable size, and you can purchase a delicious and varied cheese plate, choose from a variety of appetizers, or go full boar with a large burger (poultry and plant versions are available), a local trout piccata plate, tacos, or even a beef stew. There are salads, sandwiches, and wraps. There is a full bar, and a selection of wines and beers that are not too shabby. The servers are skilled and unobtrusive, as you can choose to arrive early and finish your meal ahead of the show, or eat during the show if you prefer (food or drink purchase is not required, but hey, why not live a little?). I find the desserts to be a bit much--large and too sweet, so I have usually skipped that unnecessary splurge. Until... two months ago when they added a homemade lemon sponge cake and ice cream to the menu. OMG, so good! Not overly sweet, and refreshingly indulgent. I encourage you to browse Niissi's calendar, here: https://nissis.com/shows/ Find a show on a date that works for you, and have a date night!

They did this at no cost, for weeks on end, and with far too little fanfare for their generosity and kindness. How you use the space is pretty customizable. We got married 10/20 at gatehouse and the ivy was a deep, beautiful red. Our reception was very fun and we danced the night away! When you book here, you're assigned a wedding coordinator who is more than a day of coordinator but not exactly a wedding planner. Their job is to be a go between for vendors to take the stress off of the couple who is planning. Once we got into planning, the coordinator only had a small list of "preferred vendors" for Lionsgate, which she would help coordinate with. The preferred vendors were more expensive than average and not really our taste as a queer couple. So, a lot of the planning fell to us. If you get married here, my advice would be to hire a wedding planner anyway. Note that if you book here you have to use their preferred liquor vendor (party liquor) as well as hire a Lionsgate preferred DJ. You can hire any other vendors you'd like. When you ask for prices, make sure to ask for hidden fees and costs. We have had a couple of surprises in our bills and deposits.

We had a backyard wedding so there was a lot of coordinating between vendors and Gabriella made it seamless. She was always willing to answer my hundreds of questions, she put together a wedding inspiration board to help with decor and colors, reach out to vendors for quotes, and so much more. The day of our wedding, Gabriella and Frank made our day absolutely perfect. Both my husband and I were able to relax and not stress about the details the day of because we knew Gabriella and Frank had it covered. They created binders that had all the vendor information, day of timeline, venue layouts, etc. that they gave to us and the other vendors so everyone was on the same page. They set up all our centerpieces and put out all the decor we had gathered for the wedding. I added some pics because they did amazing. I didn't have an exact idea what I wanted so I told Gabriella to use her creative freedom and I loved it. I had also mentioned to her that I forgot to order a sign for our guest book the week before the wedding and she immediately offered to make one for me and bring it the day of. They made sure we had a drink and/or food in hand throughout the whole night and handled any questions from various vendors or guests so we didn't have to. My dream day would not have been what it was without all their help.
