The project resulted in poor workmanship, an unpermitted and unsafe fire pit/gas line installation, and an incomplete job. These issues raised serious safety concerns and required further correction. The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) investigated this matter and issued citations, including violations related to failure to obtain permits, departure from trade standards, and contracting with an expired license. The contractor was given an opportunity to correct the work, but the issues were not properly resolved and the project was ultimately abandoned. I strongly recommend verifying that the license on your contract is active, matches the contractor performing the work, and that all required permits are obtained before proceeding.
