The first year I had a very good experience with a top notch agent. When I went to renew after that first year, I was told that the agent was gone with no information as to why or where she went since I would have followed her anywhere she was that good! After that I had a rotating set of agents here one minute gone the next, all very mediocre. The last year or two the agents I was assigned to were down right adversarial. The last straw was that I gave the agent a room by room photo/CD of my house and all the valuables so that the insurance company could have it in case there was a fire or if something was stolen. Yes they lost it/misplaced it! Hard to believe one can stay in business with this type of customer service. Needless to say I have moved on to another firm in Cambridge and my experience there has been excellent!.

Woman insisted that she could give us ABSOLUTELY NO information about likely cost range without VIN of daughter's auto, which we could not give because we had not yet bought a car. Woman totally stonewalled us. Nope, she said, it's all done by computer, no way at all to estimate likely range of premiums without vehicle VIN, no even ballpark. Ridiculous. I don't know why she did that. Was she annoyed, thinking we were trying to pry free info out of her without actually becoming a customer? Even if we had been, it would only have taken her a moment to answer our question, and it would have generated goodwill and made us likely to come back when we were ready to go ahead and get an insurance policy. And in fact, if they had not treated us so badly we truly would have come back to them in a couple of days to buy the insurance. We now have bought the car and are going to buy insurance today, but we are going to a different agency to get the insurance. Oh, and one extra detail, not important but will always stay in my mind. We arrived at around noon, and both women working there were eating lunch at their desks when we arrived, and continued to during our ridiculous conversation. Since then I have received a letter from Arbella's collection agency for $66 saying I owed money. I left a message for Nally, but never received a call back. I called my new agent (Montiero Insurance Agent with Commerce) and they discovered I did not owe any money. They got me a letter to send to the collections agency and I was cleared, luckily nothing will be going on my permanent record. Next I received a statement in the mail just two weeks ago saying my house insurance cancellation was being reinstated with Arbella. Again I called Montiero, they called several times to Nally only to discover that "that letter must have gone out mistakenly". This morning I was just reviewing my accts and noticed Arbella has been charging me for my vehicle's insurance for the past 3 months while I have been with Commerce (Commerce is also charging my acct.). I have now left messages for both insurance agencies and will be dealing with this on Monday morning. Nally/Arbella are useless. Save your money and time and stay away!!!
