I purchased the Career Launch Kit for $899 from Your Next Jump (YNJ), along with a cover letter for…read morean additional $100. While I appreciated the professionalism in communication, the overall experience fell short in several important ways. First, there was minimal human interaction throughout the process. At no point did anyone take the time to understand my unique career goals--whether I was repositioning myself for a new industry, returning to the workforce after a break, or targeting a specific type of role. The service felt highly templated and lacked the strategic depth I expected from a career consulting company. They did want me to submit two job opportunities, to get an understanding of the roles I wanted to apply to, but by the time YNJ completed their services, those roles are obsolete. YNJ emphasizes their move toward AI- and tech-driven solutions, but this focus seems out of sync with recent hiring trends and feedback from recruiters nationwide, who have voiced growing concerns about the authenticity and accuracy of AI-generated materials (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/21/business/dealbook/ai-job-applications.html?smid=url-share). Unfortunately, that disconnect was evident in the documents I received. They don't need to be experts in every field, but there's a noticeable lack of industry knowledge that makes it difficult for them to highlight critical, role-specific functions. Drafts were returned with errors--including incomplete sentences and exaggerated or unclear claims--so I had to carefully review everything to avoid misrepresenting myself. Revision times of 24-48 hours (even for minor edits) created unnecessary delays in my job search. And conversations with Tim felt rushed and surface-level; I was never fully confident that my feedback was truly understood or applied. I did call YNJ to discuss these concerns before posting this review, but they did not respond, I'm assuming it is because they already received their payment. I had roughly five different hiring managers review their work, and none were impressed. While the general template that they utilize is unique to their services and adds a splash of color amid the monotonous pile of resumes, nothing really stands out. In the end, Your Next Jump's work may serve as a basic starting point, but if you're a professional with a nontraditional background, transitioning industries, or aiming for mid-to-senior level roles, you'll likely need to invest significant time refining their drafts yourself--or seek more strategic, personalized support elsewhere.

I have never wrote a review before but feel obligated to due to my experience…read more I purchased the Job Search essential package for fixing up my resume and I have to say I am incredibly disappointed with the service. They didn't bother trying to understand my job or what career I am looking for and basically just copy and pasted my previous resume but in a different template. The very few changes they made were sentences that were incoherent, repetitive (used the same sentence several times throughout the resume), and full of typos. No amount of "unlimited back and forth between the writer" is going to salvage poor and lazy writing. You're better off saving your money and doing it yourself or passing it through ChatGPT (which I am pretty sure they are doing anyways). The 5/5 star reviews for this company are clearly purchased/bots. Christina J.'s review is spot on for the experience

Simply the best! I reached out to YES career coaching…read morebecause I was feeling stuck and ready for a change in my work. My resume was OK, but I wanted to put my best foot forward. The team did a fantastic job on rewriting my resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile. I ended up applying to a handful of jobs and got an interview immediately. What ended up happening though is that during the resume rewriting process, I developed this newfound confidence in my work that I never had before and I was going to go after what I wanted to do. I started to network with people that I knew in my area at different companies and ended up with an opportunity that was a perfect fit for me. Since I was a referral, the management team was not too focused on my resume but I ended up getting the job! I am thrilled to start this next chapter of my career and I have to thank YES career coaching for guiding me to see the light I had inside of me so that I can show up and be the best version of myself. Highly recommend!!

My 30 min consultation with Katherine was really helpful! I learned formatting tips and ways to beef up my resume by adding a header, summary, and core competencies and creating sectional dividers. She recommended outcome-based bullet points that highlight the benefits and quantify the results rather than a laundry list of tasks. Katherine was friendly and thorough and even had enough time to quickly proofread my hubby's resume. It was really nice to get an extra set of eyes! While the $299 starter package seems a bit pricey, it's a good deal considering that you are equipped with the A team of an interviewer, drafter, and editor. They will rewrite your resume and can fine tune and belt out those bullet points. While my resume could use a few tweaks, the starter package is a great option if you're looking for a resume overhaul without doing all the guess work. I found the resume consultation surprisingly useful. Would highly recommend it and consider the packages!

(8/12/11 Update: Following a quick Google search, I recently discovered that JGA is being sued for…read morebreach of contract (among other things). The details of the case are quite shocking and, in several aspects, mirror what is described below. Before doing business with JGA, I would do yourself a favor and spend the $3 or so to retrieve the court documents from PACER. You will not like what you read.) Always judge a company by their website. This is a motto that I usually live by. If the company does not care enough to make a visually appealing website (or at the very least, one that doesn't look like a poorly slapped together template), odds are, they are not worth your time. When I originally saw JGA's website, complete with a blurry, poorly designed logo, I should have trusted my gut and continued to live by my motto. But instead, I took a chance on JGA, and brought them aboard my project. I enlisted JGA's help in finding financing for a feature film (something they claimed - but could not prove - they had experience with). Problems started right from the get-go. Phone calls and e-mails were not answered, scheduled meetings were not kept (with no notification, mind you), and we were basically kept in the dark on most of what was going on. We were continually told this was for Confidentiality's sake. We brought up the communication problems to JGA several times, and while they were acknowledged, they were never actually rectified. Every time we would slowly slip back into the same exact routine. Oddly enough, the most communication I ever received from them was during the time I threatened legal action. Film development is incredibly difficult (ESPECIALLY today) and a lack of communication is never what you want hampering your project. JGA never kept us abreast of any developments (problems with the project, things clients were saying; outside of generalities), so we could never adapt and properly change the materials. All we could do is wait and hope. The last straw came when we requested monthly job cost reports (something we were DEFINITELY owed). JGA promised we would receive the reports but only delivered one. After that, they broke off all communication with us and never sent another report (even though I have several e-mails stating explicitly that they would). JGA walked away from the project without EVER contacting us. It was the least professional thing I have ever encountered. Working with JGA was hands-down one of the most aggravating experiences I have encountered in my film career. I have no knowledge as to their other financial endeavors, but I can say, in regards to film, their abilities are severely lacking. Company Contact: Joseph P. Amato (JGA also had a complaint filed against them with the Better Business Bureau for "Problems with Product/Service" in 2009. No further information, but take that as you will.)

So it's been brought to my attention that the owner of JGA has decided to make a huge fuss on Yelp…read moreand has claimed ownership of the page. Again, this is MY experience. I have a right to state the facts of MY experience and so I shall: Here's the bottom line. If someone pays me for a service and I don't deliver, then I've failed as a service provider. There is no way of getting around it. I am not here to go back and forth with bogus profiles (Tony L.?) that are clearly being made by the owner of the JGA. I get it, it sucks to have something negative written about you and your business. But guess what, it really sucks losing money especially in this economy (since you brought this point up as to being why you were unsuccessful in our business). The lack of communication, the bogus interested partners and client dinners along with the constant run around about information that I feel I paid for and was never given is MY experience and I would really hope that if you are thinking of doing business with JGA you take my comments into consideration. Obviously this is a free country and you can do business with whomever you choose. But as Yelps tagline states...This is a platform that allows me a "Real Person" to give you a "Real Review". Now, Joseph you may not agree with it and that's okay but you know that you should have done better and that you probably bit off more than you could chew when it came to working in the entertainment industry. My frustration has never really been about the fact that you didn't acquire monies for my project. It's always been about your attitude and lack of communication that started immediately after receiving my money for your services. Prior to me writing the check, you interest in my project was exciting, supportive and quite refreshing for someone from the fiance world and honestly it just felt like good business. Now, I am not naive to think that all business deals are successful ones BUT I do believe in GOOD business even if it fails. It's about how you treat your clients and in this case Joseph you were unsuccessful. Now as far as reserving judgement, the case being thrown out doesn't mean anything to me. What mattered to me then and even now is that you were paid for a service you didn't provide. Other than that, have a good day!
