    Rose Rosetree

I first engaged Rose Rosetree in 2004 who used to offer written aura reading reports at less than…read more$50 per reading. Her readings were very structured, accurate and helpful at that time. Since around 2008 or so, she stopped offering such written reports and instead offered 55 min phone readings at more than 3 times the price where she spent two-thirds of her time talking about things not related to the subject that was being read. I continued to engage her on and off as she remains fairly accurate and I do respect her a lot. I have also tried some of her sessions that are meant for healing but those were not helpful. In recent years she has become very rude, presumptuous and authoritative in phone readings and often end readings abruptly when she is not happy with the question/comment made well ahead of the purchased time. It is very disappointing and I have since stopped engaging her.

Since 2004 I wasted over $15,000 on Rose Rosetree's books, in-person and phone sessions, online…read moreworkshops, etc. Working with her hurt my well-being. I quit working with Rose three times. The first two times I quit because I saw no improvement despite her lofty claims. The third time I had enough. I couldn't tolerate her unprofessional, offensive behavior. Initially, Rose was warm and supportive. Later she showed her true colors. Rose is a trained hypnotist. Her voice and ideas can insidiously echo in your mind for many years. You'll sign a legal disclaimer before working with her. She is not liable for any harm her advice causes. Rose gave unwarranted criticism and inappropriate advice about my thoughts, speech, mental health, profession, friends, beliefs, lifestyle, diet, name, etc. I felt she imposed her dubious worldview whether it is fact-checked or not. She claims to "co-create with the Divine," but I found her behavior antithetical to what she preached. I told her she made me cry. She responded, "No worries." No apology. Yet she preached compassion and claimed to care about me. Rose solicited for Yelp reviews (see photos). Her followers are afraid to write anything negative. They might fear she'll say they're in "Spiritual Addiction." They may also want to get on her "Enlightenment List" or stay there. She often removes her former followers and friends from her Enlightenment List. Personal vendettas may motivate her more than she lets on. During sessions I paid for, Rose talked about herself, often dismissing my concerns. Sessions are supposed to be about the client, not her. She frequently complained about fall-outs with others, including clients. Once Rose mimicked an upset client in a strange voice. Then she laughed and said her husband told this client to see a psychiatrist. I didn't see her take responsibility for her conflicts with others. She often dismissed people as mentally ill or in "Spiritual Addiction." I saw her hypocritically do things that she condemns in others. Rose repeatedly asked me to join her blog during sessions. I did as a favor. After a long work day, I saw her chastising me for accidentally not capitalizing my initials. She berated me because I questioned her ideas in the past. Her blog is an echo chamber. She edits posts she doesn't like or deletes comments that may incriminate her later. Her views are often inconsistent, contradictory, and fickle. Rose contradicted herself by saying I haven't evolved but later said I grew a lot. Rose said I should not write my book, my lifelong dream. She said I'm not a historian. I have two degrees related to history, but she didn't listen. She was more interested in asserting herself over me. Absurdly, she has a "Creativity with Soul" workshop to nurture creativity. Instead, there was a recording of her destroying a woman's dream to write her memoir. She also ranted against transgender people, which is inappropriate and off-topic. She told me to get a "real job," because I'm not as "messed up" as before. I didn't ask for her input on these matters, nor is she qualified to do so. I am competent in my field for over a decade, which she didn't bother to check. In 2007 she encouraged me to pursue filmmaking only to say it was a bad idea years later. Rose spent a significant part of her life in cults. In 2007 she didn't even know what WiFi was. It's disturbing she advises people's life decisions when she is out of touch. Once I flew from Asia to study with her. She inexplicably played the "Alvin and the Chipmunk" song. She did weird things but often lectured people about lacking social skills. She said I spoke English well many times. I felt uncomfortable because it implied people who look like me can't speak English. She also changed the schedule for a manicure. Rose unfairly judged me and others during aura readings. She calls it "discernment," one of her special words to justify her behavior. I had years to see if she was right about people and situations. She was usually wrong. She criticized people who turned out to be good friends. She said a friend wouldn't work in film; he is now a successful filmmaker. Her books' readability is jarring. Her expensive workshops' content is basic and redundant, requiring more hours than actual Ivy League courses. She often aggressively promoted her business, especially during sessions. In 2013 Rose invited me to join her Mentoring Program. I said, "I'll try." She said people who use the word "try" are insincere. She unduly solicited business and got offended when I didn't join. It's not fair she was paid handsomely for making me feel like dirt. I ended up with more self-doubt than confidence. I wouldn't wish these experiences on anyone. In the words of Christopher Robin to Winnie the Pooh, "You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." Don't give your power to any spiritual advisor. Believe in yourself.
