I heard about NOVA Hypnosis and Wellness through my friend Michelle R, (who also wrote a review on Yelp.) I saw Michelle recently at a work conference, and she mentioned that she took a new position within her company that required her to fly frequently. Knowing that Michelle had a extreme fear of flying I was surprised that she would accept a position that came with such travel commitments. When I questioned how she was going to handle all of the flying in her new job, to my astonishment, Michelle said "Oh I am a good flier now!" and when I heartily laughed she said " No, really, I am!" All in the mind Life can teach us a lot of things but it rarely teaches us about our own thinking. It's easy to analyze facts and events from our point of view, but it's hard to find the root of our own thought process. It's even harder to understand why certain undesirable circumstances materialize here and there, forming a pattern. We often run the risk of believing it's others who have control over our life - boss, spouse, kids, friends - but do they really? I came to Ramzy in search of answers. Why was I experiencing the world the way I did? Where does stress come from? What's the point of this running around, from one place to the next, if we rarely take time to enjoy it? I engaged in a 5-session exploratory journey (1.5 hours per meeting), over a period of about 10 weeks. Ramzy applied NLP during our time together and it's been fascinating, to say the least. By making me verbalize certain beliefs, Ramzy successfully helped me demystify the unhealthy ones, naturally and permanently. When you turn the switch on and you see, you'll become aware and you'll want to keep the lights on. NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming. I am not a pro but I can explain how it worked for me. We first did the value exercise, which made me aware of what really matters to me. What do you really stand for? That's the question you'll ask yourself during value identification. Then we continued with exercises where I was invited to observe whether these values were taken into account during a past or current decision-making process. Without fail, I saw clearly that each time I didn't account for those values, I was at a loss and stress would creep up. Subsequent sessions focused on how to re-frame thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions and create new routines and scripts, through repetition mostly. We did a lot of quick and continuous verbal back-and-forth during our sessions. It was exhausting but amazing. I felt like a Socratic student in the presence of her teacher. It challenged me every time, and at the peak of stress, it's like a door would open in my mind, I would enter and I would set myself free from the problem I had caused in the first place. Sometimes Ramzy would have to push me forward but he did it so gently, I felt like I was being accompanied and never kicked. This exercise was extremely valuable. We can literally untangle ourselves, if we are willing and guided by a true professional. It's not magic but it kind of is, in the sense that you will feel like something new, uplifting and encouraging is taking place within you, something you might have not thought it was possible. Most importantly, do the homework and take time to appreciate small wins in your learning. It will become progressively more apparent that you're solving your own issues but take the time to feel the joy of this journey, regularly. If you have an extremely logical and skeptical mind, please do consider NLP with Ramzy. I had been fighting my own thoughts for years. My intellect would create amazing structures but many times would also build terrible frameworks. We can get out of the ugly ones and decide to hang out in the brightness of our consciously chosen patterns. We are so complex it's hard to figure us out completely but we can help ourselves. I have a few different reasons why I would highly suggestion nova hypnosis and wellness...I went for hypnotherapy for one issue and Monica ended up helping me with two! As well as guiding me in my own reiki healing journey! Here is my story :) the short version! I am 23 now, I was around 13 when I started picking at my face. It came at first as a bad habit and continued into my teens and then adulthood..unfortunately with this habit came scars, causing anxiety, insecurity and more that I never shared until now. I went in to see Monica in December 2014 for this particular issue however after a small chat about myself and my reasons for seeing her, she offered to help guide me on another/different daily issue I just never took seriously. During our first session we ended up working on what I call "screen communication" anxiety, I could hardly answer text or emails without shaking out of pressure. I had tucked this issue away because I was able to ignore it by just ignoring my phone and etc...Monica helped me realize I needed to face this little issue I kept shoving to the side. I am so thankful she brought this anxiety to the surface, I can talk to my friends long distance now, business communication is better, I feel my friendships are stronger because I can now reach out more often. After one session I can say I was able to concur this anxiety with Monica's guidance and support :) Our second session we did some reiki and Monica helped me during this session to just be comfortable with who and where I am in life. I really enjoyed this particular mediation unlike anything I'd done myself before. Reiki opened a lot of new doors for my built up energy, I was more then willing to keep them open especially with Monica's teachings guiding the way. Monica was very helpful we did our sessions right around the holidays so things were a bit messy with scheduling but she was really flexible and always willing to work with me. The third session I knew we were going to work on my picking, I was nervous and honestly didn't believe in myself. This was something I've been struggling with fighting myself day after day over it...I wasn't sure if hypnotherapy could even help, but it was worth the try especially with my trust in Monica! Not to bore you with the details but it was a challenging session I went through every emotion possible in my conscious and sub conscious. It was ok though, these emotions were coming out of me in a good way. These twisted emotions were rising above me so I could let a new light in. I still struggle a tad bit with this issue but nothing like before! I have courage to stop myself and believe in myself. My stress and anxiety levels are lower then ever. I was lucky enough to be one of the few in Monica's first reiki workshop (level 1) I jumped on the idea without even checking my weekend plans haha I couldn't be happier to joined this workshop I can't wait to move onto level 2. Reiki healing and hypnotherapy changed my life in many ways, and all positive. My dogs absolutely know I have a new energy to me, they haven't left me alone since Monica did my reiki attunement! My relationships are all great, my picking is minimal and under control. My over all anxiety level which would fluctuate daily is minimal also, I don't find myself stressing over small things and I find myself more open to the world around me. read more

Oh man. If you've ever wanted to try Hypnotherapy, NoVA Hypnosis and Wellness is the place to go. I bought a four-session, hour long package of Hypnotherapy sessions to start off with, because I had a few issues that kept coming up and causing me anxiety. I figured within four sessions, I should be able to see at least some improvement. Prior to signing up, I really didn't know what I was going to be getting myself into, or exactly how effective Hypnotherapy would be. I have previous experience with other therapies, including regular talk therapy, which have been a waste of time and money for me. I was a tiny bit unsure about whether this would be helpful or not, but I figured it was worth a shot. And let me tell you, it was worth every penny, and more. Monica, they Hypnotherapist, is absolutely amazing. She has a wonderfully calm presence, and makes you feel at ease immediately. She always makes sure to talk things through with you before the actual hypnosis begins, clarifying what the focus of the session will be, what type of hypnosis she'll be conducting, and generally offering advice and guidance on whatever issues are being focused on before the actual session begins. She also makes sure to follow up on the previous session's issues to see if progress has been made, and if further work is needed. I particularly like that, because previous therapists I've had have worked on one issue one session, and whether or not it was cleared, it was never brought up again in future sessions. As I mentioned, I really had intended on just working to clear a few small blocks I had that were setting off my anxiety, but Monica managed to help me clear many serious issues, some of which were buried so deep within me, I don't think anything but hypnosis would have dragged them out of me. While they were sometimes intense, these sessions were beautifully healing, and I couldn't have asked for them to be any more successful than they were. I cleared my driving anxiety, issues regarding self-worth and self-esteem, lack mentality, and a really deep emotional scar that doesn't need to be mentioned publicly. Just know that there were tears during the session, and a huge weight was lifted after it surfaced and the healing process was allowed to begin. Another great thing about these sessions is that they're recorded and sent to you via DropBox, so you can listen to the hypnosis recordings again and again, to continue work on your own while you're in between sessions, or just to have on record what you've worked on in the past. Unfortunately I've moved to California recently, so I can't continue to work with Monica directly, as much as I'd love to continue working with her, but I give her the highest recommendation possible, and would absolutely recommend her services to everyone and anyone who is considering Hypnotherapy. She is incredibly caring and professional, and isn't all "woo-woo" and "crazy new-age-y," If you're even half considering it, definitely give it, and NoVA Hypnosis and Wellness a try. I went to Nova Hypnosis and Wellness after reaching a point where I thought I was spiraling out of control. My health was bad, and I didn't know why. I was struggling with anxiety symptoms, binge eating and low self-esteem. With a childhood history of neglect and abuse, and the recent death of my husband from cancer, I needed more than just therapy. I did not know what to expect from NOVA H&W. I had had one session of hypnosis a few years back to stop binge eating and noticed nothing. My daughter bit her nails to the quick and had the same therapy - without success. But, I was encouraged by the reviews and thought I would give it a try. After an initial phone consultation where I learned that this was going to be more than just one session, I started treatment with Ramzy. Originally I wanted Monica - her reviews were fantastic - but I joke with Ramzy that I got the sloppy seconds! Ramzy proved to be anything but. He was kind, thoughtful, caring, insightful, passionate and dedicated. I had about seven sessions. The sessions consisted of a combination of talk, with Ramzy just chatting (like you would to a therapist) and listening to me talk, and finding out what made me tick. He would hear something that he knew he could work with, and then use that experience to use in hypnosis to "reprogram" me. I got homework which involved a bit of thought and searching my memories, to figure out what made me happy, what was important to me, things I had no idea about, had never thought about. Put it all together, and I am, today, calm. If you think you're going to sit in a chair session after session, looking at a swinging clock, that is NOT how it works. After listening my whole life to the chattering voices in my head that tell me I'm no good, and which make me want to eat, I am calm. I have had no issues with food since I started. In fact, I hardly think about food unless I am hungry and have easily cut out gluten and dairy. I feel confident, happy, stable. I am not sure I recognize myself right now! I have replaced some of my most unhappy memories with different images of those events. I now have tools that will help me deal with adversity and the chattering voices. And I am going to keep doing my self-hypnosis exercises. I am an open-minded person, and believe in the power of thought. I was determined to make changes in my life and do exactly what I am told. I can state, categorically, that I feel different. I smile more. I am calmer. I am optimistic. I tell the voices to go away. I don't need food to numb me. I am ready to face the future. What can i say other than Ramzy Ayachi is amazing! Such and awesome person and meeting him was such an unbelievable life changing experience. You can feel his positive energy when just sitting in the room with him! I had been a heavy smoker for over 32 years and tried every quit smoking aid out there time an time again but with no success. It didn't matter what i tried, they were never going to work for me personally because my mind had always been in the completely wrong place. I was also dealing with a lot of other life long personal demons that i had never been unable to deal with prior to my sessions with Ramzy. Before meeting Ramzy i was at my wits end, constantly worrying about my health and what the years of smoking had done to my health, but i still couldn't quit. That constant worry was causing a lot of stress, anxiety and insomnia, which in turn was also affecting my wife and children in negative ways. Ramzy is a very talented, kind, and effective life coach/therapist who helped me get on the right path of wellness, good health and self love. I was looking to reinforce some lifestyle changes that I made a month earlier after 10 years of working an ultra high-stress job, wreckless eating, and leading a sedentary lifestyle. My obesity and diabetes was out of control and I needed to get it in check. I was referred to Ramzy by a business colleague who worked with Ramzy to manage some health issues. I generally keep an open mind about alternative therapies and read up on the science underlying hypnosis. To me, it just made a lot of sense and I decided to set up some sessions. I was expecting to be "hypnotized" my first session but I actually was not...they disclose that the initial session is consultative and needed to understand my needs and issues. What they offer is so unique that you will not find it anywhere else in this format: Hypnosis, NLP, and business training all in one concise package! I cannot say enough positive things about Monica and the practice at NoVA Hypnosis. From the moment I walked into the serene office space, to the first time I met Monica and felt her bright warm energy, making me feel comfortable and safe immediately. My sessions with Monica were truly amazing and supremely relaxing. Since moving to the area I have had the opportunity to experience hypnosis several times. I've generally used it to help me relax and reverse the affects of the anxiety I've experienced since moving to this city from a small town - huge lifestyle change! One of the things I love the most about hypnosis, is that you don't have to have to be clear on what you want to achieve. The sessions naturally flow after a short interview with the therapist. All you have to do is "show up", be present and allow whatever happens to be your experience. You don't have to talk things through like traditional talk therapy - which I have also done. If ever you wanted to try hypnotherapy, but were too skeptical to move forward with it, then THIS is the place to go. I have had ongoing issues for the past 20 years and had tried everything under the sun to overcome them, but nothing (therapy, medication, etc.) even came close to helping. I love NoVa Hypnosis & Wellness. everyone is extremely friendly and professional. I am currently looking to resolve some issues I have with my eating habits. I am 6 feet tall and stuck between a size 6 and 8. I worked with Ramzy via web-based sessions and am so happy with what I've gained through that experience. I initially booked a consultation to address a 15+ year long fear/avoidance of flying. After a consultation and 3 sessions, I took a vacation, which included 4 flights. Prior to these sessions, I had very minimal confidence in my ability to handle these flights. I had always thought about hypnotherapy for numerous reasons, but never had until I noticed a Livingsocial deal. I bought 3 sessions, and made my first appointment. I got there, and remember sitting in the waiting room, and the lady before me came out, and was like, "she is awesome!" And Monica IS awesome. She is instantly welcoming. Her energy and warmth make it easy to feel comfortable opening up to her with any issues you're having that you're wanting hypnosis for. Just talking with her is a great therapy in itself. She then has you lie on a heated massage table, puts a blanket on you, and takes you into the most peaceful and beautiful place. I had a life-long phobia about needles--I cried, I passed out, I had anxiety dreams for weeks before any scheduled procedure. After two sessions with Josh, I walked into a CVS by myself and got a flu shot without much more anxiety than if it were part of my weekly errands. Two weeks after that, I got a much-needed cortisone injection, and while I was certainly anxious, the anxiety was in the realm of what most normal people would experience before such a procedure. I had sought therapy for this phobia once before, but it was only slightly helpful, and this was my last-ditch effort to get past it. I went in with a "what do I have to lose" attitude, but admittedly was a little skeptical about how successful it would be. Not anymore! I was skeptical about trying hypnotherapy, but I am extremely happy I finally gave it a shot and went to NoVA Hypnosis and Wellness. My Hypnotherapist, Ella Hickox, was absolutely wonderful. I have struggled with anxiety my entire life, but recently the increased amount of stress had become overwhelming.
