Sarah is so much more than a career coach. I have found my confidence and voice to speak up as the leader I want to be. Defining my unique value, work passions, and long-term vision have served as a compass to assess right-fit opportunities and next steps both inside and outside my current organization. I've also enjoyed sharing what I've learned with my own team and paying my experience forward to coach them to be effective leaders in their ways, too. Sarah has a clarity of voice and models how to be a confident leader. When she shares it is from a place of authenticity and experience. The variety of strategies within her leadership development program are all so beneficial. We have coached on everything from effective communication to negotiation to work life integration. It is the whole package! read more

I'm not sure what to say about Sarah, other than I am so thankful that I found her and TRUCE! The best investment I have made in myself. I feel calmer, stronger and confident in my abilities to be successful. 5/5 stars to this awesome coach. read more

I am in a challenging leadership team dynamic. In debriefing my 360 assessment that Sarah walked me through, I am now highlighting the results I am already bringing to the table and building a compelling presence for greater effectiveness in my executive leadership peer interactions. I appreciate the frameworks, thought exercises, and examples she offers to help me dissect and make sense of how I want to go about things. With Sarah as my life coach I've been able to identify my unique value that is based on my personal principles, and untangle myself from the cyclical patterns that had me doubting myself. I get such grounding and validation from our coaching sessions, actual tools to apply, and "permission" to be the real me. After practicing this authenticity in meetings, especially with more senior leaders, I'm seeing positive results. Sarah offers flexibility to meet me right where I'm at, along with the space to not know what to do next. In my role as a CFO, it's important that I really anchor into my leadership development and style. I saw pivot shifts in my energy level from the first session with Sarah. A critical lesson was recognizing how stress can affect my energy levels and learning to pause to consider how I want to show up - and to scale my day accordingly. I've learned to lean into my values and prinicples as the foundation of my leaderships style. As a unique life coach, Sarah brings an expert balance I hadn't experienced. She is always able to read the situation to be direct in a way that pushes my comfort zone while also being compassionate. She brings a wonderful synergy between wellness, healthy eating habits, and fundamental discoveries on leadership coaching. read more

The leadership coaching I've done with Sarah has helped me relate much better to those I work with, understand past conflicts, find ways to work well with my boss and handle extremely difficult peers. We did an RQ assessment and Sarah is flexible to reference that in ways I can adopt. I've learned what to accept, what not, and speak up for myself. Every session is so helpful! read more

I can't say enough great things about Truce and its Transformational Coaching program. After struggling with my weight my entire life, I tried the program - and it has made all the difference! Having never participated in "coaching" I wasn't sure what to expect. But I'm so incredibly glad I took the leap. Truly life-changing breakthroughs awaited me. Coach Sarah is extremely talented at what she does. Her expertise and guidance helped me lose the weight and get down (from a lifetime high of size 24) to a size 10. And the personal insight I gained through the process has allowed me to maintain the size 10 for several years now. Am I super skinny? No, but I never wanted to be. When I started the coaching process with Sarah, I just wanted to be healthy and fit...and free from food's hold over me. I also wanted to model healthy eating habits for my kids and be an engaged and energetic mother. I've accomplished all of those things and then some. This makes me very, very happy. Thanks, Truce! read more

Hiring Sarah as my wellness coach was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She has been an instrumental part of my success throughout my weight loss journey. Working together we were able to identify roadblocks that stopped me from succeeding in the past. She was there for me on good days to celebrate my successes, and bad ones to motivate me and encourage me to keep going. Throughout the entire time, she held me accountable, tracked my progress, and taught me skills I needed to reach my goal and help maintain it in the future. As a result, I lost 35 pounds and gained so much confidence. I highly recommend Sarah to anyone who is looking to hire a wellness coach. read more

My journey with Sarah as my wellness coach has been phenomenal, as it has exceeded my expectations. After just 4 months my satisfaction with my eating, physical activity, and sleep habits has skyrocketed. I love getting specific recommendations around snacking that I can seamlessly incorporate. I'm also finding the motivation to complete a walk to jog program, which has boosted my strength, resilience, and productivity throughout my workday. Here's where Sarah and Truce life coaching go well beyond: Unlike other programs, a major breakthrough is that I've reclaimed the quantity and quality of time to spend with my family and with myself to do the things I've always cherished. I now feel a sense of joy and gratification that I haven't experienced in a really long time. Sarah has a skill for listening to concerns that I wouldn't normally disclose to others in my life, and a gift for drawing out what intrinsically drives a person without any feelings of obligation or guilt--so that I easily adjust or am naturally inspired to do things differently to get the outcome I want. I also appreciate the motivational readings she sends, and the tie-ins with my faith journey have really stuck. Finally, she didn't let me quit when it was easy to do so and I thank her for that! Definitely 5 stars if not a gazillon stars from this gal! read more

I was completely stuck in my efforts to integrate a weight loss program into my lifestyle when I began working with Sarah. She has a diversity of knowledge, grounding demeanor, and a subtle approach that makes all the difference. She provides tools and then lets me discover how to incorporate them so I'm confident and the lessons are cemented. I'm no longer overdoing exercise or eating heavily processed foods. Eating is simply a footnote in my life and a support in doing what I enjoy-- I now Eat to live versus Live to eat! I'm seeing results of my efforts on the scale, too, and I plan to continue coaching to maintain this momentum so these habits become permanent and to overcome any plateaus. I also won't forget one coaching experience I had that gave me comfort during a particularly stressful time. read more

I worked with Sarah at Truce while living in NY - all of our sessions were video or phone-based. Working with Sarah has been one of the highest ROI investments I've made in myself. I lost 17 lbs in 4 months. Most importantly, Sarah helped me develop the habits that will allow me to sustain and continue my progress: I am now running 5x per week and I actually enjoy it, I am also following very simple rules to eat healthily (plate size, knowing when I'm satisfied vs. full, ingredients that satiate longer vs. carbs, etc.). Throughout my sessions, Sarah was never judgmental, she was persistent wrt checkins, and she was flexible with the content of our calls in a way that was personalized to my particular challenges, personality, pace of progress, etc. Highly recommend to anyone who is serious about losing weight in a healthy, informed and sustainable way. read more

Sarah is valuable as a wellness coach and life coach. Working with her has made me feel so much better about myself and my follow through. Sarah has such good technique and skill to direct the application, no matter the life area we discuss. Lifestyle-wise I'm a more mindful eater, including enjoying a small amount of sweets daily, and I'm exercising! Her encouragement to rely more on God, which is important to me, helped me stay calm during some critical times. read more

Sarah is a marvelous coach. She is incredibly flexible and yet stays on point and topic. I found her organization and approach incredibly helpful, yielding results immediately but also during the months that we worked together. Sarah has great flexibility to her style. She uses a variety of questions and resources when needed to meet me in the moment and stay on point. She offers incredible accountability, which has helped me follow through on numerous goals and projects, even when the timeline shifts - which it does, being an executive.. I process through everything from challenging conversations to habits I'm resisting with greater integrity than when I'm reflecting on my own. I also appreciate her ability to integrate faith whether we're talking wellness or business, since this is important to me. read more

I am different! My energy and mindset especially. As someone who has dealt with chronic weight issues I decided the next thing I did would not be a quick fix. After working with Sarah I've let go of old thoughts and my all-or-nothing attitude so I'm seeing real behavior changes. Instead of ditching when I don't see immediate results- I am here for the journey. With Sarah as my life and wellness coach, I feel like I have a consistent partner in my journey that is committed to my success. Sarah doesn't force an approach, which is refreshing. She has adapted to my thinking style and I've had room to figure it out myself and what truly satisfies me. E.g. Some of my challenges are practical planning or knowledge gaps and others are emotional and that's where coaching is really key. For example- I had a recent shift... I don't need to hold on to excess weight - it's not serving me anymore! This whole experience exceeded my expectations and I will continue to invest in myself by working with Sarah. read more

I highly recommend Sarah for a customized coaching program. I feel much better about my health and well-being, and I believe that I'm on the right path to integrity. The coaching really helped pull into focus how to break down challenges into reachable goals. I especially appreciated the overall focus on mindfulness, as well as the individual customization which, to me, is the essence of good coaching and really meshed with my expectations. read more

Sarah's positivity is contagious, and she creates a very safe environment that goes a long way in letting your guard down so you talk openly. My biggest breakthrough was learning how I was communicating and exhibiting my stress. Just that awareness somehow made all the difference in how I react to things. It has been life changing because I didn't realize I needed to manage stress before I could dig deeper. Every session we brought order to the chaos and a realistic next plan. read more

Sarah is an excellent coach and has helped me with my lifestyle habits and leadership development. I quickly started trusting myself again with healthier food choices, understanding stress triggers, and distractions. Sarah also helped me clarify my career goals that would use my top strengths. I re-negotiated compensation at my current company and have opened the door for talks about a broader role that leverages my strengths. No doubt that you have to do the work, but I learned I have agency. read more

I have worked with Sarah off and on for the last 6 years and her collaborative and caring approach has enabled me to meet my goals. I came to her with the single goal of losing weight, but based on our discussions, she helped me articulate other goals that would be necessary to do that. In my case, it was social connectedness and a realistic exercise plan. At each meeting we set up very specific next steps towards each of the goals and I decided what I could commit to working on until our next meeting. Sarah checked in with me via email to see how I was doing both in accomplishments and challenges and what in particular I might want to work on at our next meeting. At the meeting we reviewed more extensively how I had progressed or not progressed and then set new goals. Making and keeping these tiny commitments enabled me to meet my broad and difficult goals. With her coaching approach, I learned how to eat intuitively rather than the rigid eating rules I had set up for myself. Over the last 6 years, I have very gradually lost and kept off 65 lbs through intuitive eating and working with her to ensure that my life is balanced. I have come back as my life has changed so Sarah could help me identify, articulate and achieve new goals. For example, although I am maintaining a good weight, I now need to develop ways to eat healthy with minimal cooking. She doesn't give me broad suggestions but rather very specific ones and we keep reviewing what works, and what doesn't. (I like the recipes on her website.) Her coaching approach and her personal style can help anyone move more successfully through their individual life challenges. read more

"I so appreciate working with Sarah as my weight loss coach. I've gotten rid of my food obsession! It is so nice to walk down the grocery aisle and not be stressed thinking about "what can I eat now?" or "what do I have to avoid?" Focusing on my hunger cues and actually tasting my food has been (and still is) a process, but one that is already paying off emotionally. Sarah gives me the ability to be myself, talk through my food issues (and even uncover issues I didn't realize I had), and find what works for ME. Having a non-pushy and non-judgmental sounding board means a lot to me since I never talk about food with anyone due to embarrassment of being on previous weight loss programs and not losing." read more

I'm posting this review for my wife, who does not have an account on Yelp: I was initially reluctant when Sarah recommended transformational coaching sessions as a way to combat my thickening waist. What was the point, really? - I already knew what was wrong: I ate too many desserts, and I didn't need a professional to tell me the solution was to go on a diet. (I just needed to stop eating desserts long enough to diet.) When I finally gave Sarah Sutton's coaching sessions a try, I was astonished to discover -- during the first session -- that my cause and my solution were both off track. Sarah gently probed beneath the surface. Instead of asking "how many desserts", she focused on "why". I remember my jaded and flippant answer about not being fulfilled in specific key areas of my life and the joy I felt when I ate desserts... and I remember the quiet thunderclap that followed when I finally understood the connection. Sarah's solution wasn't to cut out desserts; instead, we talked about transforming the underlying causes so I wouldn't rely on desserts to fulfill me. That was 20 pounds (and several years) ago. Sarah Sutton's transformational coaching challenged me to explore what I thought I knew in new ways, and it was much more effective than yo-yo dieting. read more

My experience working with Sarah has been nothing short of amazing. I started at my doctor's recommendation, so it was originally about weight. While working with Sarah has changed my approach to food and exercise, my whole life has really been affected. We started with a mindful approach to food. I now only eat when I'm hungry. My food cravings are virtually non-existent. I crave going to the gym now to work out (this, alone, is mind-blowing for me!) We've also worked on balancing work, life, and family. This has brought me peace. I know how to prioritize and know how to say "when" and "no". I know how to handle my working-mom-guilt. We did one exercise on how to handle things that make you mad or upset. While I've used it several times, I've even guided my 7 year old through it and it worked for him. Overall, I've incorporated mindfulness into everything that I do, from how I eat to interacting with other people. It's been a life-changing experience and I'm so thankful for my doctor suggesting that I work with Sarah at Truce. read more

I got connected with Sarah through a referral. I needed help figuring out my next career move. I had a healthy skepticism professional coaching, but decided to give it a try since she offers a free consultation. I think rapport is key - and it was there from the first call. I felt like Sarah was able to balance listening with probing questions, especially about the root causes of my hestiant behaviors, e.g., making excuses about connecting with others. She also adapted to my moods and pushed me when I needed it. I completed 10 sesions with Sarah over the course of three months via Skype, which actually worked better than I anticipated. I can honestly say that I would have no problem recommending Truce to others. read more

Sarah has been my life/executive coach since August 2019. She was recommended highly by a colleague of mine who seemed lighter and happier than I ever remember seeing her. I'm a driven, nonprofit executive director and came to Sarah when I was at the end of my rope. I knew my biggest battle was with myself but talk therapy wasn't getting me anywhere. I wanted to work on the underlying cognitive dissonance behind my depression and anxiety, and was ready to make a truce with myself. Sarah has been helping me do just that. I no longer feel like it's all up to me at work. I'm finding ways to structure my life so I can actually relax when I'm off work. I hope all of my friends have a chance to work with Sarah. She's so good at tuning in on how to tailor her services to your personality. Also, we meet over Skype between VA and CA, and it's great! read more

Last year in summer 2019 I was looking to commit myself to lose weight and have build up my energy level with the right nutritious food and exercise. Initially, I thought to get help from nutritionists than I found Sarah. The unique thing about Sarah, she understands your routine, likes, and dislikes and ask how you can help yourself. Since last year's August, I have improved my eating, sleeping, and managing stress. Sarah is a great coach to improve your lifestyle as I have tremendously improved my habits. Now I consciously try not to eat non-healthy food and control my portions. All my sessions were virtual but very effective. During the sessions, she gauges how I am doing and what needs to be improved, like how are my carbs intake and how to increase protein intake. Also, Sarah gives some tools and tricks that help you in your daily life. I have lost 7lbs and 5% body fat. Thank you very much Sarah! read more

I had a bit of trouble finding the positives in negative situations and just the haze of craziness that is everyday life. My life coach sessions with Sarah help me now stay much more calm and grounded in the moment. We talk through situations realtime and Sarah also provides a wealth of supplemental tools (perspective shift ideas, blogs, books, etc.) Next, we'll be digging into a specific resource to help me create ongoing self-compassion. I have really enjoyed my life coaching experience with Sarah and have received such tremendous value! read more

"I just loved my sessions. One of the benefits of Sarah's weight loss programs is she listens so well to understand a person's psyche and what motivates them. I think the biggest breakthrough I had was to be patient with myself and to learn what my patterns are and reasons for sabotaging myself. I always discovered some new life coach tool to keep me on track. A surprising and supremely fulfilling bonus was her encouraging me to explore painting, which has given me more than she knows. It is obvious she cares and her compassion truly makes her special. Truce coaching is worth every penny." read more

I started working with Sarah right before I had a major surgery where I was going to be immobile for months. I wanted to work on managing my weight during my recovery. My biggest breakthrough has been understanding that my food issues aren't really food issues, but life issues. I am much more confident in managing conflict and problems in all areas of my life as I continue to peel back the layers on my eating behaviors. I liked how Sarah utilized progress metrics to show me how much I discovered and applied in a short period of time. Although the surgery and recovery have been difficult, it has also been a real gift. I have learned so much about managing my mind, which in turn helps me to manage my eating behaviors. I am happy to say I maintained my weight during my convalescence, and I am starting to see downward movement on the scale now that I am mobile again. Sarah has been an invaluable partner in this process and I feel fortunate to be working with her! read more

I originally hired Sarah to help me manage my weight gain during pregnancy but she turned out to be so much more than a "weightless coach". She is flexible and tailors each session to your needs. I prefered that our sessions flowed organically so there were some weeks where we focused on my emotional well-being as opposed to which healthy eating techniques worked for me. You truly begin to understand the intimate connection between mind and body. If you're looking for a quick fix or magic pill, then you're out of luck. But if you're truly committed to what makes you tick, incorporating small but steady changes, and living YOUR best life, then don't hesitate to give Sarah a call! I appreciate that she listens with intent, often jotting down notes during our sessions - asking for clarifications and information in deeper detail. She is always encouraging feedback to ensure that you are getting the most out of each session. She understands that there is NO one-size-fIts-all solution; your sessions will be tailored to what will work for YOU - expect some trial and error. She always comes prepared and has so many resources available to you! She is relatable and will be one of your biggest advocates - she wants you to be your own biggest cheerleader (cliche but true). Change is hard and it sucks. Being unhappy is hard and it sucks. Choose your "hard". Call Sarah! read more

One of the biggest values of working with Sarah Sutton and Truce coaching is in realizing that my food addiction was really a reaction to other things bothering me. In fact, my satisfaction with my eating and body quickly increased in even the first month working together. And as we started actively working on the other areas I was conflicted about in life then healthy eating also naturally got even easier! read more

I see my coaching sessions with Sarah as a chance to settle in to private 'me' time with my life at the center. In each session I discover a new strength or attitude that empowers me to be more grateful for my friends or see something in a new way that makes me excited to take the reins of my life in hand. No matter the topic I'm wanting to change (from energy and stress management to relationship fulfillment to personalized nutrition) Sarah's probing insights always bring a shift that leaves me feeling lighter, freer, and ready to go! She has such a breadth of experience in coaching technique. More importantly, she listens so deeply and intelligently to my unexpressed needs and intuitively responds with a question, observation, or coaching exercise that results in remarkable breakthroughs and next steps. The value I receive always exceeds my expectations and is tremendous. Wellness areas such as my sleep, work/ life balance, and body satisfaction that I once rated as a 1 or 2 in quality I'm now rating as a 7 or 8 out of 10. Coaching helps keep the closet of my life clean; emotional and mental clutter is always removed so I am able to focus clearly and to enjoy life more fully. I spend less energy on negative thoughts or emotions or on what I see as stress because these things are redefined in each session. Thank you for being my partner in committing to a healthy life read more

I came to Sarah feeling terrible - my energy and overall sense of wellbeing was really low. From our first consultation Sarah helped me to zero in on mindless snacking after dinner and what would be more rewarding for the connection and downtime I truly craved. She intrigued me by her practical challenge to find fast and healthy family dinners. By getting to bed early, I mastered a tremendous streak of early morning Peloton rides that become a seamless part of my routine and who I am. I didn't weigh myself (my choice) but I did track in other ways and knew I was losing by how my clothes fit. My satisfaction with my body, energy, relationship with food, and movement patterns have improved 200-400% (we actually gauged these indicators through before and after data, which I liked.) Sarah used intentional phrases ("biological hunger wins every time"; "process over perfection") that stuck with me and I rely on to remind me of my commitment to my health. I wanted to create a new legacy for myself and my kids. With Sarah as my weight loss coach I've started well down that path. I've received tremendous value and highly recommend her services. read more

I did a Google search for weight loss coach and Truce popped up. I am so glad I was able to work with Sarah! I was trying to lose weight without understanding the why of how I had gained weight. I had family members and friends who tried to be helpful but were not. I wanted an objective person to help me. Sarah walked me through ways I was sabotaging myself and how to overcome them. She was always encouraging and quickly answered all my emails. Flexibility and sincerity are her strengths. She personalized everything for me based on what I needed each session. I found out I was pre-diabetic at the beginning of our time together and she helped me advocate for myself and provided wonderful resources to help me avoid developing diabetes. I always looked forward to our phone sessions because I knew she would be objective and always had my back. I tended towards all or nothing thinking and she got me over that hump - thank goodness! She reminded me of all the progress I had made when I would get frustrated. I have truly changed my mind set and know I can make lifestyle changes that matter and I can live with long-term.
