I hate to bring down my rating for this place, as I initially gave this place a higher rating. My…read morereview is based on my manicure experience. When I first made my review on Glow Salon, it was a couple of hours after my manicure at this place. In order for my polish not to smudge, the lady applied oil on each nail to prevent possible smudging since my nails were not completely dry. The glossiness of the oil made the nails look perfect and masked the problems I found later when the deceiving oil was washed off. The problem: I asked my nails to be 'roundish-square'. Some nails were roundish-square, others were round, and some were filed slanted. Even my hubby noticed the poor filing job. Also, my cuticles were not completely pushed back, or trimmed properly. I don't think I'll come back here again. I'm better off giving myself a manicure. *NOTE* The owner of this salon emailed me after reading the review above and offered me a free manicure to make things up. I thought that this was very kind and the establishment really cares about its customers.

The salon is spacious and comfortable. The decor is modern and chic. The service is top class; Coleen and her team go above and beyond to ensure that you're 100% satisfied before leaving. There are many salons in Montreal that make you feel rushed, don't offer a relaxing experience and make salon visits feel like a chore. With Buff, that's not the case. I liked their colour choices, I ended up going with Grapefruit. I tried a new nail size, now they're almond round-ish, which I was a bit skeptical about at first because it looked so weird on my hands, but now I love them! At the end, the lady gave me a small hand massage with lotion which was nice and unexpected! The total was 40$ but since I was paying with card, she said she would have to add a 6$ charge It was my first time there and she was nice enough to waive the 6$ and I ended up tipping the 6$. It was more than I wanted to pay, especially since Décarie is far from me so I thought it would be cheaper. These are downtown prices so I don't think I'll be back even if they were nice and efficient.

I've been growing out my real nails with gel and powder acrylic refills for about 2 years. I kept removing them and so that's why it took so long for my nails to grow. But now they're the perfect length but weak as hell. My friend recommended the SNS treatment and what a game changer. My nail technician was amazing! They first had to remove my powder and that took a while since the layers were thick. It took maybe 4 dips in nail polish remover to peel it all off. Then as my nail technician was filing them, one nail broke! It's not bad but you can definitely tell it's too short. I opted to leave it as is because it'll grow back. I didn't want to add a fake tip. SNS is powder but it's much finer than the acrylic powder. It feels like flour. They dip your fingers in the powder and flick your finger to get rid of the excess. Imagine my face when they dipped my fingers in the powder! It's like magic. I know I've referred to the acrylic powder as nail cocaine in my other reviews as a joke before but SNS is actually nail cocaine. Even the colour is a powder they dip your fingers into! They then apply a top coat. They dip your fingers maybe 2 times in the SNS powder and then 3 times for the colour powder depending on how smoothly it sticks. The nail polish coat is applied after every dip. You then get everything smoothed out with their drill machine. The end feeling is so great. It feels light and airy but your nails are strong! It's also not thick like the gel or acrylic powder. It cost me $50 with taxes and tip first time around because they had to remove my acrylic but next time it should be $35. The only con is that the SNS colours aren't as nice as the regular nail polish colours. But I can overlook that since it'll make my real nails much stronger
