the pedicure specialist did a sloppy, untidy job. pretends that she doesn't see any problems, and also blames me for the bad nails, or dry skin. when asked to fix it, she sarcastically replies that she is a bad specialist. each client has a different condition of nails and skin, but a professional should be able to work with this. it is very uncomfortable to hear that the specialist is shifting the blame onto me as a client. I have been going to this place since 2012, with a couple of years off during the pandemic. While seriously more expensive than a lot of other nail salons, I stuck with them because the quality was really top nottop-notchch no matter who you got to do your nails. In the last year, however, the quality has really gone down. I can't tell you the number of times I've gotten a rude and unhappy nail tech, and the work is also way less impressive than it used to be. In fact, I've had to go back to fix peeling nails and colour after just one day one a few occasions. Even more telling is the fact that on the last 3 occasions I was there, a customer came in complaining of how terribly her nails has been done, and demanding they be removed and redone. As a walk-in customer I was attended to right away, I got a spa pedicure with shellac polish and the nail tech who did it was very thorough and careful! I then got nail extensions with shellac polish over them, and 3 days later still no chips or scratches! I came here at 7:30pm on a Friday night and it took longer than expected. Nonetheless, the nail tech, Karen and the owners kindly stayed behind. It was my first time coming here and I'm throughly impressed. My highlights was: The foot massage was extensive. While she didn't leave any dead skin behind. Karen was attentive and kept asking if it was alright. Con: it cost an extra $15 to get the rose gold colour. The nail tech told me it would be more in advance but I didn't mind it. I have been here twice. The first time was back in September and I absolutely loved my shellac mani and pedi which lasted for quite some time. I went back on December 14 (Thursday evening) and the shellac on my hands were peeling 2 days later. Come a week later and everything was gone. I didn't have the same girl, yet both were very helpful. On the second visit the girl seemed a little upset that she had to leave close to closing time and rushed on the curing of the polish. When I went back less than 24 hours later they said I had to come back a different day which I did. She kept pulling on my eyelashes / causing discomfort etc., and even got glue on my hair. I'm not sure why this has a 4+ star review. I called to see if I could make an appt. They were friendly enough. When I arrived, I could already tell this would be a poor experience. The manicurist came out with a terrible face, no smile, no greeting, nothing. The environment was poorly cared for. Not a pretty aesthetic at all. Then there were no offers to upgrade to a spa pedicure with sea salts and paraffin wax. When it came time for a manicure I decided I just wanted a buffing and no nail polish. She buffed with the hard grain and did not continue to smoothie grain and then I was not finished with cream and a hand massage. Very poor service. read more

Location: In Les Promenades de la Cathédrale. Just head downstairs from street level. The closest subway is probably McGill and you can walk underground. Street parking is available but metered. The place: It's pretty spacious, with multiple manicure stations + pedicure chairs. I also saw what appeared to be a massage room. Based on my observations, the place is well-maintained and clean and tools are sterilized after each use. Unlike other places, they place a large plastic bag in the foot tub and dispose of it after each use so I imagine this reduces the chance of 'contamination'. I like. The goods: I was in desperate need of a pedicure so decided to stop in on a week day around 11:15. The place was dead so I was a little hesitant at first but decided to take a chance. The person 'assigned' to me was Mme. Kim - though Mme Kim is of the silent variety, she regularly checked with me to see if everything was going OK. She did a great job on the pedicure - my feet still feel amazing and it's been a few days since the pedicure. These guys do the same thing as most places, but I felt like they add an extra level of detail that other places don't. There was a lot of foot rubbing with various products involved. If you're going for a pedicure, you'll want to make sure you have close to two hours to spare. Price point: I knocked off a star because they're more expensive than most places. A standard pedicure will run you $39.80 plus tax + tip. read more

Went here for a full arm and legs wax, the place smelled strongly of chemicals and the practices weren't sanitary. The woman who waxed me also missed some spots (which kind of defeats the purpose of getting a wax at the salon) and left lots of residue on me. This review is solely focused on in Fairview mall. I haven't been to the one on St Catherine so I can't speak to that location. I have been getting my nails done for years and have yet to see a 30 dollar additional charge for gel polish. My pedicure came to 80 dollars before tip. 80 dollars. My usually acrylic nails + gel + design usually got to be 80 dollars. Not a pedicure. I feel cheated to be quite honest. Another thing I found disturbing was that they charge +20 for gel on the hand and +30 for it on the foot. When really there should not be a variance. Maybe they lack customers who use gel, and need to charge those of us who do up the ass. Maybe the owner does not know the average price to charge for gel. At the end of the day, it comes down to customer service. If you are going to charge an extreme amount for gel, WARN YOUR CUSTOMER. And to be completely honest, the chair that I sat in also punctured a hole in my skirt. Not impressed. Never returning. This is probably the funkiest place to have a manicure or pedicure in Montreal. Once you are seated on your massage chair, they get you a cup of tea and you watch a movie while they work on your feet. You can also opt for a fish pedicure where small fish feast on your dead feet skin... Not for the faint hearted even though it does not hurt (it actually tickles, epecially at the beginning). Moreover, their nail polish lasts for weeks but you have to allot time to the process (two hours for a pedicure and one hour for a manicure) read more

The lady that runs this place is bloody rude. She tries rushing you when making a decision. First off, this place is really over priced for what it is. A mani/pedi is $65 - WTF! This place isn't a proper spa, it's a nail salon. I understand that it's location is in a mall but we're from Toronto and salons in Toronto don't even cost this much plus their taxes are higher. I'm just going to go straight to the point. This place is mediocre at best, I've been a client for some time now simply because I had never risked trying out any other nail salon. After an amazing experience at Ongles Pro, I decided to get a gel refill done at Dahlia. They charged me the price of a full acrylic set (45$) for an acrylic refill + gel coating, which was outrageously discovered after my nails were done. Their gel polish, which the lady had only put one coat of even though it is customary to put a minimum of two coats, started pealing at the sides within 2 days. They also play the same movies over and over again so if you plan on being a long term customer which i unfortunately had been, expect to memorize scenes from the movie white chicks My boyfriend had also made the grave error of getting his first pedicure done there about three weeks ago (march 10 2015) and was charged 55$ for soaking his feet in warm soapy water, which were then scrubbed menially at best, and slapped some lotion on. They did not file his toe nails nor did they try and reduce the rougher edges of his soles. Unenthusiastic staff that don't know their english or french properly. Overpriced. read more

Called for an appointment for a gel refill and pedicure. They told me there was a 15% discount. So I was pleased.arrived and everything was going well. Come to pay and the price was more than expected. Than they Told me that I had to pay extra for the french manicure on my toes.(which was not uv gel) as I was hoping for since normally that's what my usual place does for cheaper. Now comes Monday exactly 3 days after I get this done and the UV gel on my nails has chipped and the airbrush is coming off and well my toes. We won't go there. do yourself a BIG favor and avoid this place like the plague. unfortunately i went to this place twice, the second time trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but i left it doubly disappointed. i cannot stress the amount of disgust i have for this salon. the first time i went i was referred to by my best friend who's sister uses this salon in the west island, so i figured why not. i was looking for somewhere i got get the REAL pink and white done, and was willing to pay, so i asked for it, and they said ok, well do it, but then it turned out it was just me getting charged 50$ for white plastic glued to my nails as opposed to actually sculpted. i shrugged it off initially...but then after week 1 of having my nails done, they started to come off around the bottom of the nails, like lifting, as in if i'm not careful, i can get a bad fungus if i don't fix these asap. to top it off, i had two nails break very easily, which had never happened before with other salons. so finally i was well due for a fix up, and after trying to go to two other places who were booked, i decided to go back to this "spa" to try and see why my nails lifted. they claimed it was because my cuticles grew under the acrylic, which i felt was fishy, yet plausible...anyways so i said, take off this set and just redo some acrylics which a design, and they were very fine with doing it, and i had no real problem until i was talking with the girl doing my nails, who i have no qualms with really, except that she was suggesting new gels to use for colors and we were talking about pricing and etc, and i said let me show you what i want first then but then she started doing my nails and i was like ok whatever...and when it came to design choosing time i chose what i wanted and then discussed a price with her and she told me about 60-65 with tax...and i was feeling like it was a little steep but i said ok and went to pay before the design, only to be charged 75 DOLLARS. and i said not happening. no way. etc. and basically they tried to consistently gouge me and i let them, and then tried to make me leave with my nails unfinished for 40$ or pay extra for the basic french tip finishing and whatever. basically in the end as well, they tried to convince me that i was getting gels and not acrylics because thats what i told the girl (like there's REALLY a difference at these types of places) and o i gave in and said i wasnt paying more than 50$ to finish these so i could gtfo of there. in the end i left with the most horrible nails i've had in the past two years. i have poorly air brushed french tips, which weren't completely cured properly and are covered in bubbled, bumps, and all kinds of other texture type disasters on the surface of my over priced nails. i'm too livid to go settle it with them, so i've rather tell you the truth. do not ever go. it's just like any other typical asian spa, who over books, takes too many walk ins, and then you have 3 different girls finishing your nails. i'm SO disappointed, and will never ever ever ever go there or recommend this place to ANYONE. :( read more
