I went in June for my d.o.t. Physical. I should say iam very overweight. But despite that, I have no other disqualifying issues. I have never had high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. Iam pre diabetic and it is being maintained thru medication. Even when I admittedly don't take my pill everyday I have always stayed in the normal range with bloodwork. I also have taken in lab and home sleep ap tests that have always shown no sleep apnea and had a recent one from last year home test showing result. I could tell upon meeting the female doctor that she had a problem with me. She wanted to see my medical records proving my doctor was managing my pre diabetes. Never have had to do that before. She did not want to accept my home sleep test and insisted I do another one in lab. Because of this I now have to pay my entire deductible of 600$!!!!!!! As I don't have any other warning signs I don't know why I couldn't have atleast done a home test so I wouldn't have to pay so much. Once I showed her my medical bills and completed my sleep test I thought that might be it finally as the process dragged on for a month because of all this. Nope, she mis read the sleep test results and when that was proven wrong she then brought up my thyroid levels being slightly low!!!!!! Oh my god, I wanted to say "ok lady, you obviously just don't want to pass me so your going to come up with anything you can possibly say to not pass my physical!" I went to another concentra in Tempe that I had never been to before but the doctor there recognized me from last year so apparently they float from facility to facility and don't work out of the same one. He informed me that I wasn't allowed legally to go to a different doctor once one has started on my physical. I then called my work safety dept to ask what to do at this point. They told me that I most certainly do have the right to go to a different doctor and to just come to the terminal and get it done at in house clinic there. I went to terminal and got it done in an hour. Over a month of aggravation, stress, 600$ for a sleep lab test, all could have been avoided if I just didn't go to concentra. So beware. I should also note that concentra provided me with papers to go to a place for sleep test. That place only offers home test. When I called them back they told me I would have to go thru my insurance. I was given the name of infinity sleep solutions in Tempe. The employee who was supposed to submit my paperwork after I left, forgot to do it. Over the next few days I kept calling and asking if the doctor analyzed my results yet. They just kept telling me no, and that they had 10-14 days. Finally at like 10days the employee in customer service was so rude I asked to speak to a supervisor. She then came clean and informed me that the paperwork was never submitted or put in computer. If that was the case then why didn't anyone notice that the other four times I called in the past two wks??? Because they were just blowing me off and not even checking to see if it was submitted. Otherwise they would have caught the mistake right away. This wasted a lot of time and ended up costing me lost days of work because my medical ended up expiring. I started this whole process over a month early by the way. The supervisor said they would "put a rush on it" and I would probably get results next day. But the paperwork that they put a rush on was filled out either incorrectly or they submitted the wrong persons results to concentra because what they sent gave the pulmonary doctor the impression I had a very high score on the written questionnaire about falling asleep during the day and waking hours. I actually answered no to all those questions and never fall asleep. I called the supervisor back again and she acknowledged that the paperwork had to be corrected and re sent to the pulmonary doc to assess and send to concentra. But the concentra doctor misread these results where it makes a blanket computer generated statement that says," patient MAY benefit from a mlst test IF THERE ARE CLINICAL SYMPTOMS! Sleep lab confirmed this is just a computer generated statement but the concentra doctor tried to act like it was saying I needed to take another test and that it says I shouldn't be driving when NO WHERE on this form does it state I shouldn't be driving. At one point she even looked at her computer and said," hold on, do you have any accidents?" I dont. But what if I did? You don't have any details or any info on the circumstances. So your now going to make a judgment on me based on nothing other then your computer saying I have a accident???? I can't believe that would have been just another thing of ammunition she wanted to hold against me to disqualify me. I suggest if you are overweight, and need a dot physical. DO NOT GO TO CONCENTRA!!!!!!! read more
