Was craving pollo a la brasa so decided to try this place…read more The chicken was smoked so the skin was pretty soggy. I was not a fan but if you like that smoky flavor you might enjoy it. i ordered a 1/2 chicken and a 1/4 chicken. One was supposed to come with fries and salad and the other just salad. We ended up with 2 1:2 chickens all with salad. Pretty sure though i tried my best to order in spanish , we had some pretty serious communication issues. Water was not free and they charge a small credit card fee. The servers were very sweet. The price for the chicken and two waters with tip was about $50.

When it came to the menu, it wasn't very Expensive considering it's Peruvian restaurant. The food was underwhelming. We had a Pollo à la Brasa, which was dry with soggy french fries and finger full of salad. The Lomo Salado was odd tasting lacking the vinegary taste you would expect and the arroz con Pollo was also oddly made. Chicken pieces thrown on a pile of rice. We had no silverware, and trying to get the owners attention was difficult being that he was overwhelmed with the number of people in the place. My mom is Peruvian so I'm not being biased here. I've tasted these foods growing up. I've lived in Peru and I had a hard time not being critical. I'm rooting for these folks, but give it a try and see for yourself. The location is a little sketch but not scary. Having grown up in New Jersey. I know what scary looks like! The couple are very nice. The restaurant is very clean and nice however they do you need some help.

THE BEST PERUVIAN RESTAURANT, consistently the best! Lived…read morein Peru years, husband is Peruvian, kids are too. We have been to every Peruvian restaurant in all of San Diego county. This is the most authentic and the most consistently delicious Peruvian food in all the county. Handicap parking, as well as regular parking around back. Street parking in front. This restaurant is nestled in and brings a huge smile to my face. Eli will welcome you like family and feed you like family. Oh how I wish I lived closer. Eli wanna move to Oceanside? : ) Was craving this restaurant's seco de carne. Not only did it not disappoint, it was even better than I remembered! Anytime we are in the area and they are open this is where we eat. I'm so excited they will be open longer hours. I actually schedule my Dr appts on days they are open so I can enjoy lunch here afterwards. It is truly THAT good. Service is efficient and friendly. Super clean! I've seen behind the scenes since I needed to cut through side door because I'm unable to walk inclines. Not the kitchen, the side door break room area. So clean. But you can see in kitchen by register, also so clean! They are so respectful of the Peruvian cuisine. Why mess with the country who gets top culinary awards?! They keep it authentic. Thank you! Took another seco home for my husband and lomo salado for my daughter and arroz con leche for me for dinner snack after my leftover seco. They both devoured their plates. Was hard to not order more items like her causa and ceviche and Yuka, but next time we will. My husband loves the sampler too. It's all great.

What a find in San Diego. Ordered ceviche causa, seco, and aji pollo…read more Perfectly seasoned, not too salty like many other Peruvian food. Will come back

Mama G's one of those places that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in…read more The food was amazing, full of flavor, great portions, and you can tell it's made with care. It tastes like comforting homemade food but with a special touch that makes it stand out. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. They really make you feel taken care of. The ambiance is warm and cozy, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal with family or friends. It has that inviting vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

Mama G's: Where Flavor Runs in the Family (and so does the Business)…read more 4/25/2025 - If you've ever wondered what love tastes like in Peruvian form, wonder no more--Mama G's has the answer, and it's smothered in creamy green sauce and served with a side of family charm. This little gem is family-owned and operated, which means your meal comes with a side of abuelita-level care and possibly a secret recipe passed down from someone who could definitely beat you in a chili pepper eating contest. First off, let's talk drinks. The Chicha morada--a purple corn punch that sounds like a Harry Potter potion but tastes like the nectar of Incan gods--is a must. I was feeling a bit more adventurous so I opted for the dragon fruit margarita. Warning: it is dangerously smooth. It goes down easy, so maybe don't go down two in a row... unless you've got an Uber on speed dial. Now, the food. The Causa with chicken is like a potato cake's glamorous Peruvian cousin--it's cool, creamy, zesty, and hits harder than your uncle's karaoke at a family BBQ. The Tallerines Verdes with flat steak? Fire. Literal fire. Pesto's sultry Latin lover. The steak's seared just right, and the sauce is so good you'll want to lick the plate (and then pretend you didn't, but you did). Sure, the decor is simple, but who needs flashy lights when the food is flexing this hard? At Mama G's, the walls don't need to talk--the dishes do all the shouting. Come for the Chicha, stay for the steak, and leave with a heart (and belly) full of Peruvian joy.

Sevilla Valentine's Day Edition:…read more Pardon the delay, amigos! It's been a lengthy week! But I digress! You're here for the deets! Like every boyfriend who wants to show his adoration for his gorgeous girlfriend, I planned this event a few weeks ago. Commitment & dedication are key. Flamenco Show, 3 course dinner for two, AND dancing after?! Yeah, your amigo has it covered! This package is available on their website, and not only on Valentine's. But this day does make it more romantic! A minor 5-10 minute wait as we stepped out of our Uber to the front entrance of the club adjacent to the restaurant. Our lovely hostess greeted us & escorted us downstairs to pick our table. There were no specific table reservations, but all seats are good, as it's a small venue. The Love Gods smiled upon us and granted a table close to the front with an awesome view of the stage. Perfect table for the perfect date! Starters set the tone. What's this? A Welcome Charcuterie Platter?! It appears out of nowhere as our server takes our drink orders. The service here is impeccable! Impressive spread of cheesy, meaty goodness! The Shaved Jamón Serrano Ensalada Sevillana has a wonderfully zesty citrus vinaigrette that makes you clack your castanets! Ole!! Cocktails for the cute couple! A Oaxacan Flower for my Monterrey Mami! My gal loves her some mezcal! I opted for El Matador Margarita, because I know what I want...tequila! Plus the cucumber counts as healthy! I will die on this hill! The Main Course is the star of the show. And in full diva fashion, the Lobster Paella Valenciana stole the spotlight! A masterfully, monstrous mix of meat & seafood, all on top of some bomb-a** Saffron Bomba Rice! There's even a lobster tail in case you're still hungry! Queue the Flamenco show. The two dancers were elegant, the music was powerful, the singer sublime! Enjoy your dinner to a phenomenal 2 part show put on by very talented artists! We got to meet them after the show, as they personally thanked practically every guest! Elegant as their artform! Lest we forget the dessert! The Flourless Chocolate Cake was just the right amount of sweetness to cap off the dinner & show, as we shared our own sweet nothings. Love & Chocolate, a perfect combo, just like my beloved beauty & her humble narrator. As the performers were packing up & saying their final goodbyes, the staff was clearing the space for the last part of our adventure...dancing! A brief 15ish minute wait back outside & back inside we went! Got a great spot up front by the stage, but be aware the only sitting will be done by the VIP section. I believe it's bottle service only, but you can ask. We didn't, as we did not intend to sit at all! We boogied down, baby! The DJ did a great job keeping the vibe alive. Perfect ending to a perfect night. *Caveat - The dinner menu has other options & several a la carte items, if you so choose. Check their website for specific package info. You cannot go wrong. TL:DR - Never give up on love!
