I stopped by Comstock recently to inquire about some small stones I inherited. The above and beyond service was appreciated.

Since this jewelry store is closed on Sundays and closes around 5-5:30 pm all other days (which we both work till pretty late and aren't around Saturdays), we went in on a Friday on our lunch break just to look at rings here. I work in Bothell and Cody works in downtown Seattle, so we had to take time away from work just to come by. I thought we got great service at first from sales associate Sara. But there has been zero follow up. We went in looking for an engagement ring and wedding band. We brought in Cody's mom's old ring to see if we can reuse the diamonds in it for a new setting. Sara even took all the measurements of the diamonds. I tried on a few bands, told her what we were looking for and she said she will do her research and contact us with what she finds. Cody and I don't know much about pricing, cost of diamonds, and just rings in general. So we mentioned we wanted to keep it around a certain price, and she said ok. But now I feel like we might have given too low of a price hence why there's been no follow up? If so though, she should have educated us more about the stone cost while we were in the store. She took down both our names and phone numbers, asked if she could text us, and we said yes. No follow through whatsoever. We really wanted to buy from a local jeweler and support local business. But apparently they don't want our business. We stopped by here on Friday 7/12 btw, its been over 2 weeks, so we have given them plenty of time to contact us. read more

I had heard only great things about Comstock so when I wanted to redesign my wedding and engagement rings, I just went straight to them! The reason for my 2 stars is simply FOLLOW UP. I left my wedding band with them and no one followed up with me with an estimate until I contacted them after 10 days. When I gave them the green light to work on the wedding band, I waited weeks. I finally went in in person and was told it would be done the next day. I waited another couple weeks. I finally called and was told something that sounded very technical (and very fake) about how my ring was going through the final process of ensuring all was well. And maybe 30 minutes later (!!!) I received a phone call saying my ring was ready to be picked up. I felt insignificant and forgotten. I pursued every piece of follow up on my own. I had also wanted to have my engagement ring redesigned but I am not interested in giving them more business. I also felt like maybe my business was not enough in dollars to bother them with follow up calls and customer service. Something has changed from what they once were and the glowing reviews I had heard. Or maybe it was me that they didn't want to bother with. read more

I was in a time crunch to get my now fiancee an engagement ring, and I had been working with some jewelers who were trying to land me on rings that were outside of my criteria and budget. Boo! I found Comstock based on the reviews of 2 co-workers and they are conveniently located just around the corner from my work. I had always (mistakenly) assumed local jewelers only catered to more high-end clients so I never really gave them a thought before. For our 10 year anniversary, I decided to see what would be involved to do a re-size and maybe a different setting for my traditional solitaire. After having only dealt with Fred Meyer Jewelers in the past, I was blown away by the amazing customer service (Erin! You are a gem to work with!!), and never once did I feel pressured to upgrade/trade-in (something that always bothered me every time I went into FMJ in the past). I wasn't really sure what exactly I wanted other than something a little more low set since I was constantly knocking my higher setting on things. Erin was so sweet, offered amazing options and was so patient. I never felt like my project was beneath them or not expensive enough for their attention. I will never ever go back to a big chain jeweler and highly recommend Comstock for their willingness to work on a small project like mine and still treating me with the highest level of customer service. read more

Comstock has a goldsmith on site, which I really appreciate! My wedding/engagement bands had worn thin and had cracked. It was recommended that the band have gold inserted to make it one band on the back of my rings. When I went to pick it up, the goldsmith had etched the solid band so it still appears to be 2 bands on the outside/back of my ring! (except the inside of the ring obviously is only one band) I was so impressed, and my ring is beautiful and shiny as new! They also said that if I bring it in every 6 months or so, they'll clean it and inspect it to make sure the prongs, bands, etc. are in good shape. It's not easy to find such fine workmanship and service as you can here! read more

We were visiting our daughter in Edmonds, Wa in May and a clasp on a family keepsake necklace broke. We stopped at another jeweler and were told it would have to be ordered and would take over a week plus the cost of the clasp was more than the value of the necklace. I told my daughter about this and she said "No, you have to go to Comstock, they're awesome" as she had used them previously. We were so happy we did! Not only were they able to repair my necklace in 1 day but also at 30% of the previous jeweler. When I returned to pick up my necklace, a wonderful lady named Erin went out of her way to help me locate a business to buy a bus pass for my daughter. Dont go to some big chain for your jewelry! Comstock will take the time to get to know you and make you feel like family! They helped me out so much before my engagement with refurbishing and fixing my grandmothers ring. After the proposal I went back with my fiance to pick out her wedding band. We spent what felt like forever finding the perfect band to go with the classic engagement ring. They were so knowledgeable and patient with us. Ended up also having them help with refurbishing my father's wedding ring for me. All in all couldn't have been happier with them! Highly recommend! read more

After being recommended by my future grandmother and mother in laws, I went to Comstock to get my engagement ring fixed. The gal that helped me is smart and very knowledgeable about diamond settings. The large diamond on my engagement ring had fallen out and needed a new head. She was able to see and know how to check for loose diamonds around my ring and advise on how to take care of my ring. She thoroughly checked the size and weight of my diamond and took meticulous notes. Then she quoted me the price for a new head and repair. She also gave me an honest expectation of when it would be repaired. As expected, my ring was ready on the day promised. When I went to pick up the ring, I saw a ring that was shiny and beautiful! They not only did an amazing job on the setting but they cleaned and polished it to amazingness! They most definitely have my business in the future! read more

I came in with an old Mickey Mouse watch I bought at a thrift store. They gave me a quote, I gave them my information, and they held my watch overnight. The next day around 2pm, they called to tell me they had fixed my watch! I was so excited. I think they even cleaned it. The employees were always nice and the service was great. read more

I lost a diamond out of my wedding ring about a month ago. (However, I did find it with help of Costco employees - it actually got stuck in a block of cheese!) So, I went online to research jewelry stores close to my home, Richmond Beach. I found Comstock Jewelers and remembered that I had a great experience there about 10 years ago. So, I went there and they were so nice in explaining to me that I should have the prongs checked more often so this does not happen again. Basically the prongs were so worn down that I had to have all of them "rebuilt" to support the diamond. When I picked up my ring, I felt like I was wearing a new ring - it was so beautiful. It is actually 100 years old or more! Anyway, about a week later, they sent me a hand written thank you note - I didn't know anyone sent hand written thank you notes anymore - amazing! It was a great decision. My husband and I met with Erin, who was one of the most pleasant people I have done business with. She took a closer look at both of my rings and noted other repairs that were needed. It was an eye opener. We moved to Edmonds last year, and needed to find a jeweler to look at my wife's diamond ring, as she was thinking the prongs might need to be redone. There is always some trepidation about finding a jeweler, wondering if they will they be honest or slimy, will you get the same ring back, etc. but I can say that the experience at Comstock was wonderful. They took a close look at the ring, and said it was fine, no repairs were needed, and cleaned the ring for her. I'd say that's a good indication of the honesty of Comstock Jewelers, that they didn't do work that wasn't needed. We will definitely be back. read more

I was going to be visiting Edmonds for a few days and researched area jewelers where I could get my sterling silver ring fixed after it had snapped in two. I live in NYC and was having a lot of trouble finding a place in the city to have my ring fixed without a major headache or a scary price tag, and the good reviews I read online about Comstock made me want to check them out. I spoke to one of the staff on the phone and based on my description of what I needed done, she was able to say the ring could probably be repaired before I had to return to NYC, which meant within just two days! When I dropped off the ring (downtown Edmonds is adorable, by the way) the staff were so helpful and pleasant. The ring was ready within the promised time, and the goldsmith did an amazing job fixing and polishing the ring to be even better than it was when I bought it from the artist who custom-made it for me. The price was very reasonable, and I'm so happy with my new-and-improved ring. Even though there are a lot of diamonds and fancy pieces of jewelry on sale at Comstock, I never felt embarrassed that I was there to have my dinky silver ring repaired. A week before Christmas we entered, with some trepidation, this fancy--although highly Yelp recommended--jewelry store. We were thinking the matter might cost us some bucks and we'd be lucky to get the job done before the new year. The smiling, friendly woman heard our story. We gave her the ring, she disappeared in back. Tap, tap, tap. She reappeared with an even bigger smile, gave us the re-rounded ring, which slipped on the finger, and wished us "Merry Christmas." My fiance and I stopped into Comstock casually as we were wandering the streets of Edmonds on a lazy Saturday. We had just begun looking at engagement rings and stopped in to get an idea of their stock. Sarah greeted us and was really warm and helpful. She informed us that they had just been approved to carry the Tacori line, which was on our very short list of designers. Later in our search we went to the (at that time) only Tacori dealer in Seattle which was much closer to where both of us live and work. The staff at the other Jeweler were nice and we found what we were looking for, but I was having difficulty working with them within my budget constraints. They went out of their way to find us great diamonds but they were consistently either out of my price range or way less in quality in what we originally fell in love with. Frustrated I went back to Comstock to see if they had Tacori yet and to my delight they had. Selena at Comstock and I began working on finding just what my fiance and I wanted at the right price. Overall Selena seemed more interested in making sure we were happy with every aspect of this process than the other Jeweler. the other place was fine, but Selena put so much more care and thought into working with us. Comstock made what could have been a really stressful purchase a pleasure. I HIGHLY recommend Comstock...it's easily worth the extra time to go to Edmonds. The Tacori line is great but Comstock adds so much value to even that exclusive designer. read more
