Review / Caution About Leasing at Best Buy using Progressive Leasing…read more I bought a pair of JVC clip-on headphones from Best Buy using a lease-to-own option through a third-party leasing company. The headphones were very uncomfortable, hurt my ears, and felt heavy. I had them for less than 24 hours. I returned them the next day and attempted to exchange them for a more comfortable JVC earbud version that was the same price ($32). Even though the item was returned within the return window, I was told I could not do a simple exchange because the purchase was made through a leasing company. I was then told I would need to pay $85 to exchange or resolve the lease--despite the original headphones being returned and the replacement costing the same. This cost was not clearly explained at the time of purchase and appears to be related to lease fees, not the product itself. This experience was extremely frustrating and confusing. If you're buying low-cost items, do not use this leasing company. Returns and exchanges are far more complicated, and you may still be charged even if you return the item quickly. None of this was clearly explained upfront. Best Buy needs to do a better job informing customers that leasing significantly changes return and exchange rights. Buyers deserve full transparency before agreeing to a lease.

I should have read the reviews before going to the store in Madison, MS. Two weeks ago, I…read morepurchased a new computer (with a My Best Buy Total Yearly Membership) and have had nonstop issues. I was told by the tech on the phone that I should take it to a store for assistance. This morning, I took the computer in the store and the Geek told me I had to fix it using my Outlook account. I explained that I don't have an Outlook account, and he said I must have one to set up the computer. I do not have an Outlook account. I was expecting to leave the computer and return later, but he refused to look at the computer. I called tech support again, and he referred me to a store in Flowood. I drove to the store in Flowood and within 15 minutes the Geek had my computer repaired without an Outlook account. WOW, what a difference!! Lesson learned, stay away from Madison Best Buy!

Finely found them and when I went to pay for it the price magically went up $10. When I complained the lady checking me out looked at me and her barked the response "Do you want it or not?" The guy sitting next to her explained that things get moved around but as there were four on the same peg I told him this was more of a bait and switch thing. Customer service here is pretty sucky and as a secondary note this is the second time I have been in here and experienced the same thing. I guess this is why I love Amazon so much. Never will darken Best Buy's door again.

We recently ordered their home internet service for rural areas. They advertised super fast speeds…read moreand the locator showed us to be in prime area. Sadly this wasn't the case, we got maybe 1-1.5Mb speeds on good days. We had taken advantage of the 15 day "free" trial in case the speeds weren't up to their claims. 14 days in and we had packed up the equipment and returned it to the store. Which is what it said to do on the paperwork. The store used a different playbook and wouldn't take it. They said it had to be shipped back and emailed me the instructions/return label to print off at home. We printed them off and again this set of instructions it said to return to the nearest store but we knew that wouldn't work. We dropped it off at UPS and waited. We got an email with the tracking information and it read that we'd get another email once it was received. About a week or so later that email came and all was well with the universe..... Another week passes by and we get a bill in the mail for $55 for one months of service. First we only had it for 14 days and we signed up under the 15 day free trial. Well we thought we had, apparently the employee didn't listen to me or whatever and now I was going to have to call the 800 number. UGH Luckily the guy on the other end removed the charge for the account, although they showed we owed $22 ??? He also implied that he was doing us a favor by deleting the charges. Didn't argue and we are just glad the ordeal is over. AT&T will be out Thursday to connect out internet. Moral of the story(review) make sure they know what you are signing up for and doublecheck everything.
