When I dropped my laptop onto the concrete pool deck he gave me the option for it to be used with an external monitor by disconnecting the built in screen. I am currently writing this review on that laptop, 2 years later. I also had an 8 year old iMac that took a head first dive off a table onto a tile floor, which smashed the screen and who knew what else. I was pessimistic about its future, given that it uses a mechanical hard drive. However, Alex was able to replace the broken screen in less than a day and in an extraordinary turn of events, I had a functioning computer once again. However, the harshly treated 8 year old hard drive started bogging down a month or 2 later, not surprising given it's age and the recent 3 foot hard landing on the tiles. Alex is currently replacing the busted drive and restoring its contents from my backups. I should have many more years of service from that. If I can only stop dropping them onto hard surfaces! With Alex's expertise I will have paid a fraction of the money that the Apple store would have extracted from me during my ham-fisted season of Mac abuse! I could not be happier with the service I have received. Alex has saved my bacon repeatedly during a time when I can't really afford to buy new Apple hardware.

I plan to have an upgraded higher capacity internal hard drive added and will go back to Mr Fix for it. I once knocked the computer off my desk and the case wes destroyed and full of broken plastic and glass. I brought the wreckage to Mr Fix and they put it back together in a new case and still works like a charm.

I needed a HDD quickly so I visited Primetime (rather than dealing with our supplier in Burnaby). I…read morenoticed that the electrostatic seal was broken and was told that the drive was, in fact new and that the seal was broken because a client had changed their mind about their purchase. I was also told how this drive would make my computer faster, etc, etc....a whole lot of sales BS. I didn't bother letting the sales associate know that I own a larger IT firm and that most of what he was telling me was not factual in the least. Anyhow, my suspicions are correct and this drive had been pre-loaded with recovery tools and possible client data. In my opinion, this business operates in a very slimy and dishonest manner. I would rather drive from Maple Ridge to Coquitlam/Langley/Burnaby than be subject to such shady practices.
