Tech service broke my computer when I brought it in for a back up in the fall and even though I know it worked before I brought it there I STILL paid for ANOTHER diagnostics. They call me the day I drop it off, even before performing the diagnostics and tell me that they're requiring advanced diagnostics fees to be added on even though the port connection which was the original problem was included in the original hardware and software diagnostics . After being terribly argumentative and detailing very improper facts, he then refused to provide the PREPAID diagnostics report. Costumer service is Horrible. I've spent 160$ to get my computer BROKEN! Argued himself into a corner and after not providing me with the services I paid for, he refused a refund. ZERO stars read more

I have been getting my laptops repaired at Wasilla Computer Renaissance for at least 10 years. I trust them because they always explain to me what's going on and it makes sense. I have brought my computer to them on more than one occasion and they showed me simple user error was causing my problem, and they did not charge me for that information. I think this pace is owned by an honest business man. read more

The good people at Computer Renaissance (CR) are very helpful. In a second I felt comfortable that the techs knew their stuff and I was in over my head. They explained in easy to understand layman's terms that I COULD have a potential major data loss. I had dealt with CR in the past and was pleased either their service and this time was no different; it turned out the hard drive was full and all I needed was to get another drive and give the CPU some room to breath. I have been using this store for all my computer needs for the past 6 years or so. The staff is always helpful, they help me find exactly what I need and don't try to push me into anything I don't want. They offer advice and opinions when I need them. This is the only place I trust my computer to. I have custom built at least 4 computers in the past 5 years and each one was built from parts from this store. Although the computers did not last much longer then 2 years, we got a lot of use from them and as soon as I get a chance I am going back to get some new graphic cards so I can play World of Warcrack again...I mean...so I can write more reviews on Yelp faster.... read more

I have been in there a couple of times... I was looking for a new power supply.. but in the course of finding what I needed I got into a technical conversation. After understanding just how incompetent the repair technician was (Im being nice), I decided to NEVER bring ANYTHING technical to them to TOUCH. For the little "wall wart" power adapter they wanted $25. I asked WHY such a high price for a used wall wart when everywhere else charges FAR less.. and he told me that they were all copper transformers and were almost solid copper. I assured him an all copper transformer would weight MANY times as much as most of them weighed, that most of them were electronic (and I explained HOW they were engineered with very little transformers and very little copper windings).. He was clueless. This has been a good 5 years ago... Iv never been back. Save your computer and money... take it to someone who has a clue. read more

I dropped my laptop off because it was crashing with the "blue screen of death." Not only did that problem not get fixed with a $100 tuneup but when I got the computer back it no longer talked to the printer. Called Computer Renaissance and was told to bring the laptop and the printer back in. I had figured out it was a port problem. I found the service technician to be somewhat surly. Not only was I then sent on my way again with them not dealing with the original problem under their 30-day service warranty but no fix for the printer problem that resulted from the "tune-up." His advice to me was instead of using wireless to get the computer to now talk with the printer use a cord. I explained I had the laptop and the printer on different floors of my house. He said I could get a really long cord, or they could come out to the house for $170. That is poor customer service. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would! I took one laptop to them and they "worked" on it and told me I had a dead motherboard and sold me a new laptop through them. I started having problems with the new laptop took it back to them for a power cord connector problem , where after 2-3 weeks I got a call to come pick it up They handed it to me and the keyboard was bowed and the computer frame was even bowed. On the paper they gave back to me with the charges was a bunch of little broken pieces from my computer, and a $225 bill - Which I refused to pay. They told me my motherboard was dead, and handed it back to me, then tried to sell me a new laptop again. During the time they had my second laptop in there they didn't even notice they had my power cord and was using someone else's for over a week! Needless to say I took my bent out of shape laptop and "broken" pieces and went over to ITS Alaska. They were so friendly and told me the price up front and gave me no guarantees but I wanted to try to fix it. I got a call 3 days later, they were able to resolder the power connector back together put the whole computer back together CORRECTLY so it wasn't bent out of shape confirmed that I DIDN'T have a dead motherboard and I was able to come pick it up. They informed me that whoever had it before(Computer Renaissance) tore it all apart HOT GLUED the power connector and "tried" to put it back together however it was extremely wrong. I than took in my very first laptop that I was told had a dead motherboard and found out the motherboard was perfectly fine! All that it needed was a new hard drive! Needless to say I WILL NOT go back to Computer Renaissance EVER and I'll be sure to advise everyone I know to not go to them again. I have a new computer support company - Thanks ITS Alaska! read more
