When our (only 2 year old) computer decided to slip into a coma during an update process, we called the Alaska Computer Guy. (This was after an attempt with a visit to Pyramid computer service only to find out the hours posted are not the hours followed. Not a good way to run a business.) An appointment was set up with Glen, (the Alaska Computer Guy) to drop off the computer and the computer was fixed and done the following day. Sweet! We were charged $100 bucks, which at first was a gasp, but the experience was so worth it. Thanks Glen! This guy knows what to do, and takes care of the customer.

The young lady who was point of contact seemed very inexperienced. She didn't fully answer my questions and couldn't offer solutions. when I asked about them building me a computer she stated they don't do that. OK ? Didn't make sense. There where several things with the conversation that didn't make sense and lack of knowledge. I didn't get the feeling the $90 diagnostic/ cleaning fee was worthwhile. They couldn't even take two seconds and wipe my screen clean? I will not be returning.

I found AK Cell repair open- working in a cold office - after only recently getting power back to there shop as much of the valley is still without electrical power. I walked in with a dead phone- and out with one that was alive and functioning. They offer practical, price conscious solutions and options other then "you need a new phone" which is often the big box store solution. Prior to going over there in the windstorm I called to see if they would even be open at a time when many businesses are closed due to the weather. Their reply, "We will be here, as long as the power stays on." With out reservation I reccomend them to care for your phone which may have sustained trauma and may be on lifesupport at a time when you don't need an expensive new phone to pay for becuase your are trying to figure out how to pay for the repair to your roof that is flying down the street, or how to pay to get your pipes thawed out. Unless it is special ordering parts, he usually has it back to me in 24 hours. Recently, I asked for advice on a data recovery project and he spent 10 minutes to thoroughly answer my questions and didn't charge me anything so I am writing him a review positively because he saved me tons of hours going down a rabbit hole trying to fix a data recovery problem that would have been impossible without his advice.
