Computer Renaissance is the perfect name because they work at a medieval pace. I was told my simple battery replacement would take about a month. Fine, I thought, better than driving to geek squad in Anchorage. After 2 months, I call to check status. Computer is "fixed." Luckily I checked it at pick up, and it did not turn on. Earl explained that they had ordered a refurbished battery that apparently is a dud. What did I pay $250 for? He apologized and promised me they would get it done in 3 more weeks. TWO MONTHS goes by. No call. Finally I got my computer back after FOUR MONTHS total. And the workers are unfriendly, withdrawn, and have offered NOTHING for this annoying situation in which they made all the mistakes. I will NEVER go here again. Happy to drive to Geek Squad from now on. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Called to get some information about a repair on my computer. Guy seemed extremely preoccupied and uninterested with anything to do with the repair I needed. Asked if I could sell my computer to him. He said it would be three weeks so I asked if I could pay the expedition fee and he said OK and hung up on me. read more

Extremely knowledgeable. Yes, expensive service, but quality reconditioned technology at good prices - if you can catch it in stock. They're often very busy, it can be tough getting their time. I try to go off-hours, end of the month, and I get all the questions answered I need. We often have to wait, because they do take time with customers. And they have a lot of repairs & work out back. So I have more patience when I frequent this business. If they close their doors? The Peninsula is at the mercy of ATT, GCI, & Verizon. read more

Told them specifically I needed a third monitor hook up. They sold me some S** with a disk that even after applied and downloaded was not at all what I needed. Ask the IT guy at work. Told me what I needed specifically. Will not be getting it there. They dont know S#!^. Very unimpressed. read more

Computer renaissance has decent supplies. That's it the 2 guys the run it are unpleasant and barley listen. I didn't have a computer to plug my phone into to factory reset it because it was locked, the guy tried to charge me 80 dollars for a "quick fix" and wouldn't reason with me. Won't go there ever again. read more
