I loaded my truck with lots of 1970's electronics: 2 tv sets with integrated vcr, a record turntable, cd players, amplifiers, a vacuum cleaner, a microwave, phone answering machine and a few other items I could not identify but had cords to plug into a 110 outlet. So what's good about "Computer Recycling"? I pulled up, dropped the tailgate, a guy comes out and starts taking all the crappy electronics out and stacking it with other junk people delivered. I helped - but this guy unloaded the microwave which was heavy. I then got back into my truck and drove off. What could be nicer than that?! Free disposal of all this old nasty electronic crap. If you are a landlord or your brother-in-law moves out of your house, you will love this place! I can't tell you how exhilarating it was to drive off and leave all of that stuff. No papers to sign, no cranky old guy to say, "I don't know... that looks like nasty stuff." Just drive up, dump it and leave. Who knows? Maybe you can get rid of your brother-in-law too! They may have a job for him sorting all the stuff out. He could probably handle it with some supervision. read more

This place used to be AWESOME! However, I recently went here and the guy who fixed the computers is gone. They no longer fix computers. The woman said they only work on the computers they sell and since they sell over-priced junk, I guess they're not going to be fixing any computers. Am now looking for a new place that is reasonably priced and takes only a day or two to fix. read more

Words can not express how thankful I am for the service and help I received here. I have a 2010 MacBook Pro that had battery swelling. After speaking to both AppleCare and Best Buy's Geek Squad I was told that I needed to buy a new computer. There was no fixing my Mac as it was too old and parts would not be available. I looked up places online and CRC came up. I took my Mac in with the intention of recycling it. They looked at it took them 20min to replace not only the battery but also the trackpad and back frame. It was such a relief to know my computer was not trash as I was previously told. I will definitely be recommending them to any one with computer issues as well as returning if I have any myself. read more

CRC is great. Their general rule is, "If it has a cord, we'll take it." TV's (particularly those nasty old tube-types) have a lot of toxics in them. So do computers, printers, fax machines, old UPS's, etc. -- more than you might believe. All of the stuff they take in is checked to see if it still works, in which case they try to clean it up and resell it. The rest does not go to some 3rd-world country (where all of those toxics end up in their environment), but to Hayward, CA, where it is completely disassembled and they recycle way over 90% of all of the materials. read more

A sweet and gifted young man named Christian provided EXCELLENT service to me and my girlfriend, Debra. When another employee was unable to successfully repair my own computer, Christian allowed me to transfer the amount I had already paid for the repair toward a trade-in of my laptop for one of CRC's refurbished ones. Then he spent hours loading Debra's software onto the refurbished laptop and giving her instructions for transferring her old computer's data onto the one we bought. After doing all of that service AT NO CHARGE, Christian even offered to provide additional guidance by phone if Debra needed it. Thank you, Christian and CRC!! read more

I go here because I can usually find used computer parts at reasonable prices. It's the staff I don't understand. Are they volunteer? Every time I go, there's more than a handful of people behind the counter, every one of them standing around, chatting. The last time I waited patiently as the only guy not hiding behind the partition was picking at a muffin. After more than 5 minutes, he made eye contact, and asked if I needed help. I asked him for the part I was looking for, which got half of them moving around looking for my request. They found the part, but it seems as if none of them want to deal with the customers. read more

i have bought 2 computers and am very happy with them. I have all my computers repaired there. They are very friendly, offer ways to save me money , which means they loose a sale. I think they are honest and my money is well spent. i have had other computer repair people. the first time is great, then its okay, then I start to feel like i"m being ripped off. I never feel like that with them. Hope others give them a try. I really like those people. i now know the person i worked with no longer works there. i can not comment on the new workers today read more

Had to recycle some old equipment from my office. A couple of professional speakers, a printer and an old dance light. I called in the morning to ask if they would take it and they said yes. Drove there in the late morning and I initially missed the entrance on S.R. Ave but found it after going their website and read the explanation on the directions. A little hard to find if you don't go to the website. Pulled in and went to the shop instead of the drop-off and was kindly directed to the correct location. The gentleman at the drop off was really friendly and grabbed the speakers from my hand (50 lb speakers) and carried them off. I had no problem carrying them but I found that as a great gesture. Great and easy place to recycle and will be dropping off all my electronics there from now on read more

I love this place. Great employees with fantastic attitudes. I have been bringing Electronics and old tube televisions here for years. I never hesitate to refer folks here. A few months ago, I was told I needed to install an airport to receive wifi. I had no idea what I really needed. I stopped by CRC with questions. Where would I go to find one? What do I have to look for in compatibility? How much would something like this cost? The answer I got from Nan was . . . We have it here. Yes, it will work with a Mac/IPad. $20. However the receipt did not clearly state whether they are a not for profit organization and their website does not list their tax ID. Walked in, asked to see if they had a selection of heatsinks/fans since the place is covered in electronics and computers of the such. Lady at the counter had never seen a heatsink/cpu fan in her life let alone any type of heatsink/fan (which all come standard on any computer ever) and told me to go to ebay.... "We don't part out computers" -Why not? Most likely if anyone is coming to this store they need something specific and they're definitely not going to be looking to purchase any of those 10 year old Dells you have lined up on display. The folks at Computer Recycling Center are helpful, honest, knowledgeable and very reasonable with their rates. If they can't fix your computer there is no charge even if they work on it. Free diagnosis and repair rates that are basically either $79 or $99 for software issues. They are all about keeping your old computer running and not selling you a new one. The staff is helpful and nice. Derrick is the Mac expert. They have been in business 23 years but are kind of tucked away on Santa Rosa Ave. and get most of their business by referral. I bought my first computer here 3 years ago and it sill runs great. Their computers come with a free virus protection suite that they show you how to use. They stand behind their product and all computers come with a warranty. They sell Macs, Pcs, TVs, screens and all computer accessories. CRC is really an excellent resource for all your computer needs. read more
